Deceptive, Predatory, and Absolutely Dishonest -- Stay Away…read more This place is a scam operation in a shiny building. I inquired about a 2023 Porsche Macan listed for $44,974. Sounds good, right? Until they hit me with a quote that included over $4,200 in non-optional junk fees -- things like: * $1,499 for a "Nano Armor" ceramic coating * $864 for a GPS tracker * $1,895 for "prep and delivery"... on a used car None of this was disclosed up front. These are mandatory charges, and when I questioned them, the salesperson basically shrugged and said, "That's how we do it." This is blatant bait-and-switch -- they advertise a low price to get you in the door, then refuse to honor it unless you pay for inflated nonsense you didn't ask for. There are dozens of other reviews here and on Google saying the exact same thing -- same tactics, same salespeople by name, same dishonest game. They're counting on people not noticing until it's too late, or being too far along in the process to walk away. I came ready to write a check and still walked out. If you're shopping here, do yourself a favor and assume every price is a lie. There are honest dealers out there -- this isn't one of them.

During the purchase process, concerns were raised MULTIPLE times with the salesperson, sales manager, and finance manager regarding a mileage discrepancy appearing on the Carfax report. Each time, we were told the issue was simply a Carfax reporting error, that an investigation had already been opened, and that it would be corrected shortly. No documentation or case number for any alleged investigation was ever provided. Relying on those repeated representations -- along with dealership paperwork certifying the mileage as accurate and indicating no title branding -- the purchase moved forward. Shortly after the sale, Carfax confirmed directly that there was still an active mileage discrepancy on the VIN and that no investigation request had been submitted. Approximately six weeks later, the Wisconsin title arrived branded "ODOMETER - NOT ACTUAL," which was the exact issue we had repeatedly questioned before purchase. The dealership was contacted immediately and repeatedly by phone and email regarding the branded title issue. Those communications were largely ignored, leading to an Attorney General complaint being filed in May 2025. Even after the complaint was opened, communication from the dealership remained inconsistent for months. While there was occasional correspondence, regular communication from Mandy Martin on behalf of the dealership did not begin until approximately September 2025. From September 2025 through May 2026, we received repeated statements from Ms. Martin indicating the issue was "with the Secretary of State," that paperwork was being processed, or that she was personally handling the matter and resolution was expected within a few weeks. Despite these repeated assurances, no meaningful progress appeared to occur for many months, and updates were generally only provided after repeated follow-up requests from us. In April 2026, I independently contacted the Illinois Secretary of State and was informed that the Illinois title had already been clean since 2023 and that there were no active title applications pending for this vehicle. After advising Ms. Martin and the Attorney General representative that I had confirmed this information directly with the Secretary of State, the corrected title was issued shortly thereafter. What is most disappointing is that this situation appears to have been resolvable long before May 2026 through straightforward communication and basic follow-through. Instead, the process involved more than a year of delays, inconsistent explanations, lack of transparency, and repeated failures to proactively communicate with the customer regarding a title issue that materially affected the vehicle. If a dealership is willing to go to such lengths to complicate and delay the resolution of an issue that ultimately required nothing more than accurate communication and basic administrative follow-through, it raises a broader concern: what else should the public reasonably be expected to question? Every timeline, communication, and statement referenced above is supported by retained emails and documentation dating back to February 2025.

It's…read moredefinitely out of the way for me to go out to this particular dealership/service shop as there are several much closer to me. However, they have treated me exceptionally well for the last several months. Let me explain. I bought my car from the Al Piemonte Melrose Park location. They suck. Anyway, my wife insisted I get the oil change package (I hate going to the dealer for oil changes, so I was dreading going to any location for this service. I have a great mechanic who does a great job with oil changes (https://www.autosolutionscenter.com/), so I was bummed that I was stuck with the dealership. Anyway, a few months into ownership, I got a letter about a recall and that I needed to bring my car in to get it fixed. I hate the Melrose Park location, so I put it off. I then got an email from Gillespie On The Go offering to come to my house to fix the recall. Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I asked if they do oil changes and I had the package, so they came out and did both. And in under an hour. I had them come out for another oil change. They said they had to charge me because I have to bring my car in. So I paid, but need to check as the service department told me that's not true, but they wanted to double-check on it. I also had an issue with the CarPlay not connecting in my car. They sat with me for an hour and a half to figure out the issue. We collectively figured it out, but they didn't charge me. They have such an awesome service staff. I will always go to them over other locations depite being nearly a half hour away.

Had an 8:00am appt. got there early worked with Sean Gerst again, told him it was the $the works package gave him my coupon. When the car was done, he informs my husband & I the total was $83.00 He claims the TECHICIAN said it only takes full synthetic. If that were true, why did your technians on the prior 2 oil changes use semi synthetic oil? I have all the receipts. and why didn't Sean come and speak to us BEFORE anything was done? All he could say was the tech said so. I don't appreciate being ripped off! This was a $16-$17.00 dollar difference. I never had any problems when my go to service advisor Jeff Vollmer was there, which I found out he left. Jeff was my service advisor from another dealership for a long time. We were thrilled when we found out he was working here when I brought in my Hyundai Tucson for an oil change. That's why i bought a car from Gillespie because of the service from him. I want the difference refunded to me if not the whole amount based on the dishonesty alone. It wasn't a mistake on Sean's part either Oh, and on the invoice from today it states semi-synthetic oil was used! Nice scam guys! Sincerely Debbie Annis

Was about to book a plane ticket to fly halfway across the country. Until I was rushed and boxed into a corner by Jason. Who stated if I didn't give him a non-refundable 10% down payment before ever touching the car, he would sell it to anyone that walked in. Jason refused to not hold it for a period of 24 hours. Jason refused to accept any else than the 10 % down payment, stating it was a business decision. Which ultimately lost him a guaranteed sale. Makes me wonder what is going on with this car (blue Defender 90). According to their web site the car is still for sale, I wonder where are all these other buyers are? I was able to find a Defender from a reputable dealer.

I called prior to arriving inquiring about vehicles I saw on their website. I spoke to Christine and she said they were still there. Great! The finance manager, Ronald Brock, fraudulently added a $4,000 warranty and a $1,000 GAP insurance policy without my knowledge or consent. He hid these additions in the paperwork during the signing process. I had explicitly told the salesperson that I did not want a warranty -- and yet, they added it anyway, behind my back. When I discovered this, I began emailing Ronald to have the charges removed. His replies were condescending and dismissive, and after a few exchanges, he stopped responding entirely. I sent multiple messages through the dealership's website contact form, and the only reply I received was a suggestion to call Ronald directly. I made it clear that I would only communicate via email, as I wanted a written record of everything -- especially given the clear deception I had already experienced. When Ronald did respond again, he made explicit promises that the refund would be issued to my bank. But that promise went unfulfilled -- until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Only then, after more than three months of silence, delays, and evasions, did the dealership finally issue the credit to my bank account -- at the end of May. This dealership's behavior was deceptive, unethical, and predatory. They intentionally added products I did not agree to, then ignored me for months, apparently hoping I would just give up. It fits every stereotype of a sleazy, dishonest car dealership. I will never do business with them again. And I strongly advise others to stay far away from this dealership. If you value honesty, transparency, and integrity in a car-buying experience -- look elsewhere.
