They asked some basic information such as if habits of makeup, shapes of eyes to determine and suggest what kind of eyelashes style is suitable for individual customers. So I quickly decided start from natural eye-lash style first. The room is nice and cozy with a big window that decorated with sheer curtain. When I lay down, my lash-technician Vicky asked me if I am get allergy easily and what should I be aware during the lash extension process. The product that they use is gentle on eyes so I didn't feel irritated at all. The process is roughly taking 2 hours so it's perfect to have a nap that sleep on the bed and leaves the cellphone away. Its literally the experience of beauty sleep and makes me think of the song by Beyoncé "I woke up like this". The whole time, she was gentle on me from playing classic music and whispering to explaining what is going to happen in next two hours because my eyes were taped so I have to rely on her skill and her sense of aesthetic that achieve the result to makes each customer feels beautiful in their own way. My biggest issue is that Ana did not follow the natural line of my eyebrows to create my shape. She pretty much shaved off the tail of both eyebrows and created the standard microblading shape. I had messaged Anna via FB 1.5 months before my appointment to discuss the details of the 6D service with 6 week touch-up (which I purchased through Groupon). She texted me 3 days before my appointment to confirm the date/time and to discuss medical related questions. The appointment was for 11am. The day of my appointment it was clear there were issues. At 9:40am she texted asking if we could move the appointment to 12:00. I replied at 9:41 "11 is better for me. Is there a problem?" She replied at 9:42 "There is no problem". I replied "Thank you, see you at 11". Anna then texted me at 10:36am that she wouldn't be there until 11:25am - even though she had previously said there wouldn't be a problem with 11. I didn't make any issue out of this and simply texted back "Ok I'll be there 11:30 instead" to give her time to settle in before I arrived. At 11:19 I texted her asking where I could park. I then called her at 11:26 since I hadn't gotten a response to the text. She didn't pick up when I called. At 11:30 she texted back with where I could park. The makeshift space she uses is in a strip mall and doesn't have any signage/business name on it. As soon as I walked in the business, before any words were spoken, Anna focused her eyes on me and let out a heavy dramatic sigh. After this exaggerated sighing, she said nothing, no greeting whatsoever. While still in the doorway I asked if she would like me to put my mask on (since businesses have the option now in NY) and she replied with a curt "Yep" and nothing more. At this point I'm wondering if it's possible this is a different person standing before me and not Anna - because I couldn't believe a business owner would possess such a rude demeanor. After putting my mask on I approached and asked "Hi, are you Anna?" to make sure. She said "Yep, what are you here to have done today?" and took out a clipboard. I was wearing my mask so I projected my voice to be heard and said "We had spoke about the service through FB messenger and texts. As a reminder, I chose the 6D service because you had explained to me it's both microblading and shading". After these TWO SENTENCES Anna cut me off and exploded with "I don't like the way you talk. Saying that you are reminding me is how a teacher talks to a student. You come here to make your eyebrows beautiful and you talk like this? I will not be giving service." Recall that I purchased the service through Groupon and had already paid for it in full. After her tirade, Anna begins playing on her phone/ignoring me, with me standing in front of her. I then said "I didn't like you being late, but I didn't reprimand you or cancel the appointment. Can we move on from this? I came all the way from Queens to Westbury." She again says "No I apologized for being late already. I won't be giving any service. I will cancel your appointment." and goes back to sulking in a chair and playing on her phone again. Since she wasn't returning my money on the spot and I had already paid $300, I told her I would need to contact the police to make a police report of the incident. While I was on the phone with the police they asked for the business name, which I honestly wasn't sure of because the space had no signage. When I asked Anna the business name she didn't answer and continued ignoring me and playing on her phone, like the unprofessional and immature adult she is. While waiting for the police to arrive I looked up to see if Anna was still playing on her phone. She saw and screamed at me "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?" At that point I was tired of being bullied and I replied with, "You couldn't tell me the business name but you can ask what I'm looking at? How unprofessional and petty." The police arrived, took both our statements, and gave me the case # for the incident. Anna confirmed to the police that she was denying me service that I already paid for.
