The one thing I like about this is it's pretty much a no kids zone! It's very old school. All wait staff is dressed really nice as are the customers! We stopped in for tea and coffee. Plus a few finger sandwich's. All free! Was a nice break to get off the road and chill for a bit. Also, gave my friend a chance to relive her wedding day. The floors are covered with fancy rugs and the seating area for tea is lovely! They have board games you can play if you're going to sit for a bit. This place is dog friendly! As I have discovered throughout Scotland, they are wonderful dog lovers! Pets are welcome to stay in your bedroom, but NOT in the public areas of the hotel. There is NO CHARGE for bringing pets to the Green Park. They have a supply of pet related items, in case you have forgotten anything. There is a dog-poo bin, and a poo-bag dispenser on the grounds. Important that you clean up after your pups! Green Park has approximately three acres of grounds, and nearby walks include Faskally Woods and Loch Dunmore. The rooms are done to perfection, complete with lovely sitting area in a bay window, and binoculars to look over the lake. We were lucky enough to be there with the leaves turning, couldn't ask for more beautiful scenery. Hotel staff was lovely and helpful, gave us a complete tour before we accepted the room. There are guest lounges with coffee/tea and cakes provided free all day. In the evening Coffee/tea and sherry are provided. Food was exquisite, and perfectly presents, in a diningroom that had a perfect view of the loch. Comfortable beds, very helpful staff, beautifully decorated hotel. It's certainly not a "party" hotel, but if you looking for a relaxing stay somewhere, with superb food, and every detail attended too...this is it. Steep stairs. Nicely decorated. We couldn't figure out the towel warmer. The radiator warmed up the room after awhile. There needs to be a mirror in the room near outlets to do hair. Free, good wifi. TV and plenty of outlets. Comfortable beds. Shower, no tub. Their breakfasts are amazing! Full English plus many sides--fruit, yogurt, porridge, etc. You specify your order and breakfast time (three options) the evening before. There are restaurants and shops nearby. We loved the Garden Cafe next door--fish and chips, soups and sandwiches, burgers, and desserts. The convenience store had snacks and toiletries.

We had initially booked a room with 2 twin beds, just because it was cheaper, but just on the off-chance we could switch, asked for a double room. There was one available, so we were allowed to switch with no hassle whatsoever. The only problem inside the hotel was that the sign pointing to the block of rooms where ours was, was backwards, so we wandered around lost for a few minutes before figuring it out. There is no parking lot, but if you stay here, you're allowed to park at their sister hotel's lot, which is just around the corner. Breakfast is included with the room tariff, but we didn't get up early enough to take advantage of it.

The booking went easy enough. I called them and we got a room for 3-4 people. The price being around the £150 mark. You can also book online although I think its cheaper if you call. The interior of it's public places and rooms are a bit outdated, but if this is not a turn off for you, the hotel is comfy and convenient enough to stay in. There were a few families and groups. The main reception does not appear to be manned all night, but in all honesty Pitlochry is not the place to party until the early hours. The night porter was really friendly, stopping and telling us ghost stories. Check out the third floor. Supposedly it is haunted! The bar closed around 11, but considering the amount of people in the lounge and bar area, they decided to reopen the bar. Good for us. You get the typical drinks. Beer, wine, whisky, gin tonic and so on. They don't serve many craft beers. Our place was a suite outside the hotel in a separate Victorian house. One double bedroom and one twin. Large bathroom. Again, outdated, but for 1 or 2 nights ok. You will also be able to enjoy the pool, sauna and spa, adjoining the hotel. We decided to dine somewhere else, as the reviews were not great. Having said this, the breakfast was not bad. We got the choice between Scottish or continental breaksfast and other items from the breakfast menu. I chose porched eggs on toast. Sadly, no taste and not even the toast bread could make up for it. Other fellow travelers were satisfied with their breakfast choices. The staff was friendly enough throughout the stay. Would I go back there? Yes I would.

It was advertised as free wifi throughout the hotel but we found we could only get it in the hallway by the door in our room. Not ideal but not awful. The leisure facilities were great with a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. It was nice to come back from a day of sight seeing and have a soak and a schwitz. There is a "restaurant" on site but I'd say it is more of a dining room. Unless it is included I wouldn't worry about eating there. It's not bad but it's not great if you catch my drift. For a Crerar hotel I was a bit disappointed if I'm honest but I will bring those things up with the hotel. Free parking on site as well as two bars.
