The customer service needs improvement. When I go to Rose Nails on Flatshoals, one of the long-timers (Tina) works on me and is courteous and does a fine job. A few of the newbies need an attitude adjustment. One of them was quite rude to an older customer. I'm not sure what some of the negative reviews were talking about because I had a wonderful experience here! I did a walk in mani/pedi just a few days before Thanksgiving and had no problem being serviced! They even worked on both my hands and feet at the same time so I was in and out rather quickly. LISA!! she was so sweet and friendly, she did a wonderful job on my nail design. It was a tiny bit costly but not too much for nowadays I guess. Will definitely be back! read more

I have tried this salon various times for several years. Each time leaving disappointed. I only return because it's close to my house. Well yesterday was the final straw! The guy that is usually on his phone wasn't on the phone this time but his attitude was horrible! I'm not sure who he was upset with but he should have went home. My nails look horrible and now now I'm upset! As other reviewer's have stated they did you decent work when the new salon opened across the street but now they're back to doing subpar work once again. Honestly I don't think that they respect our black dollars in our black communities. They think that they can come in our neighborhoods and do less than appropriate work. Last week, Rose Nails lost a customer. I've been patronizing this business for years, as they had reasonable prices and quality service. On my last visit, as I prepared to get a pedicure, I noticed the bowl looked dirty. I asked about it and was told it was clean. Then the lady pulled out a large bag to cover the bowl, that the water would go in and my feet would go into that. I asked about their cleaning regimen. I got different responses from different staff members. I was told: 1. it would be fine because there was a bag covering it. 2. If I didn't want to get my feet done I could just leave. 3. They clean the bowls daily. 4. They clean them after every client. I pointed out that daily vs every time was not the same thing. My questions and this comment were met with defensiveness, frustration, and a raised voice from the man up front. The other male staff member was able to communicate better and clearly explained their cleaning standards. I thanked him for his clear explanation, but declined any services. I would NOT recommend coming here because it seems sketchy that after years they suddenly start using a bag over the bowl. If you are going to wash the bowl after each person, you don't need the bag. read more

If I can put 0 stars I would. The girl that was doing my manicure and pedicure was rushing the whole time. Due to her rushing she cut me on my pinky finger. Basically tore off a piece of my cuticle. (Picture attached). It took her over 10 min to get my bleeding under control. Once done with my manicure I got the pedicure because I had a event to go to within the hour and didn't have time to stop at another nail salon. This male techs rudely and insensitively went off on me because I was not holding my hands the way he wanted. The manager took up for him saying she knows how to control the hands, he doesn't . When it comes to handling my black female hands you need to understand strength. I thought they were relaxed. We as black female have lot on our plates so to telling me to relax and turn your hand the right way is not natural to our stress level and work load. To have an Asian man to tell me you are not hold your hand right and rudely turn it the way he wants it is disrespectful. I have never had this issue with a female tech. I have use this nail shop for years due to being in the community. I spend over $100 each time and tip way above 20%. Never again! Then as professional and nice as I could be, Itried to tell him I was holding my hands to the best way I know how. He get's upset and throws his hand in the air. I just walked out. I frequent this nails salon about every two weeks. I've never had any issues and I always ask for Simon to do my gel manicure. He doesn't use a drill and the first time I went to him he actually told me why my nails were so thin and to make certain that no one used a drill on them. I really respected that because most nail techs never address certain nail problems. As for pedicures, I had a lady (I don't know her name) do one of their special scrubs and soaks on my feet....it was ok. Nothing to really rave about, honestly I could've done the same at home. The toe nail polish chipped pretty quickly which is unusual being that toe nail polish on me usually lasts awhile.... They are fairly clean, they use sanitized tools. However, they do not line their pedicure tubs which I know more salons are starting to get into now. read more

Since then a week later, I got a pedi there. I forgot the guys name, but he had my feet looking PHENOMENAL for only $18! No pics, tho, sorry! Then I returned again a week later for a fill-in and repair. That's when the problems started. I won't call the young lady's name, but she didn't compare lengths on both hands. I had all types of lengths short and long in my nails. I didn't bother taking photos. It was embarrassing. Then not even a week later, nails kept breaking. I had to return for repairs multiple times. It was annoying so I went back to Tracy. She did a polish change and repair last week in Navy Blue. It looks awesome but another 2 nails broke this week so I'll ask her to thicken them this week or go back to gel. She also did my brows for $8! ON... FLEEK! I went to Rose Nails for the first time, and was treated poorly. The customer service is horrible. The young lady that did my pedicure did not once introduce herself and acted like she had an attitude every time I try to correct her or show her how I like MY nails done. We honestly need to stop giving these people our business! If they're going to come into our community and treat us like WE owe them something, we need to boycott their business. I know I'm going to start by never going there again. I at least would like a hello and thank you when I'm spending my money somewhere. read more

This is an update: I'll give the same number of stars but I'm really upset with the French pedicure I got last night. First off I have turf toe and the lady kept hurting my toe after I told her to be gentle. Then she put one coat of polish and didn't make sure it was smooth at the tips so now today I'm back to have them fix this crap that is chipped. I have visited this nail salon a few times however, today will be my last visit. I went to get a pedicure and full set. For starters the water for my pedicure was cold and she did a horrible pedicure. She did not scrape my feet or heels and my polish was very uneven and bumpy. Eventually someone else had to polish my toes. The suppose to be warm towels they wrap around your legs were barely warm and she never once massaged my leg or put any effort into my pedicure. As for my nails, I requested narrow nails before the tips were even placed on and the nail tech did the complete opposite. My nails were wide and I kept saying they are too wide. My nails are uneven in length and bumpy and one of my nails is crooked, which I informed the nail tech of prior to movimg forward with my nails.To top it all off the nail tech wasted nail polish remover on my tory burch flats and did not say a word. I was so pissed about my experience that I left my shoes in the nail salon and he ran out to hand them to me and that's when I noticed the discoloration on one of my shoes. I will never visit this nail salon again. I really hate my nails and pedicure and I want my money back. They better be glad I had another appointment afterwards or I would be in the nail salon right now demanding my money back. read more
