First time eating from here but ordered via GrubHub rather than in the restaurant . My ordered was prepared quickly and delivered piping hot. I ordered the kid's pancakes which were two smaller but still decent sized pancakes arranged to look like bear's ears on a larger pancake. It came with two cups of syrup and a smaller cup of whipped butter. I think any kid would be pleased with the pancakes. They very fluffy. I also ordered the fried perch with a side of fries. The fries were obviously home made and did not come from frozen, pre-cut potatoes. I thought they were great - crispy, not soggy despite being steak fry shape, and well seasoned. I'd order it again. It also came with soup which was chicken noodle (noodles were farfalle shaped). Everything great. I ordered a grilled salmon dinner which looked great and was a decent sized portion. Can't beat the price. It came with rice and a soup. I ordered a Ruben which looked great. The bread was nicely grilled. And I ordered fried mushrooms which were ok. I can't complain. They were good but just nit my favorite. They included plenty of plastic utensils, ketchup packets, bread with butter, and saltines. I'll order again. Great home cooking. read more

Met family members for lunch. I had the club sandwich it was ok. The ham was chewy and the turkey was ok, the cheese was kraft singles like, the lettuce was fresh at least and the bacon fatty. I might be a he only person on the planet who doesn't care for the big crispy French fries. They were cooked properly thank God for catsup. Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning; we've passed by this place a million times and decided to give it a try. The dining area is surprisingly large, deceptive even as the only view I've had is passing this place on 15 Mile. Standard breakfast fare, nothing to write home about staff, "meh" coffee. Typical "family" place upon first impression... The one star is due to the horrible first (and only) meal that I've had here. I ordered potato pancakes and I was served three frozen hash browns that were fried to greasy imperfection. I guess that's a potato pancake in their book... I'm familiar with the type of food at diners like this, so I wasn't expecting much. I ordered what I usually get at a diner when I'm not in the mood for breakfast: lemon rice soup and a reuben. The waitress brought the soup with a lemon wedge, saying it's better with a twist of lemon. Smart woman: there was no lemon flavor at all in the soup. It was basically rice in what tasted like water with a tiny cubes of chicken mixed in. But, I would have settled for bland with my sandwich if I had know how bad it would be. Reubens are hard to screw up, but this place managed. They forgot the thousand island dressing, so I decided to take a bite to see if it needed it. What I tasted wasn't corned beef, but rather a slimy, grade-Z cut of (I think) beef. Secondly, even the thousand island was a few hundred islands short of a proper dressing. Two bites were enough to end my meal before it put me in the hospital. The rye bread was good, but it was obvious that this place gets their bread from a bakery. To be fair, the fries were good. The rest of my family rated their meals as "okay", so it's possible that I ordered the wrong thing. Maybe a different selection will raise the score? read more

I have come in here on and off over the past couple of years and have always had great service, great food and a full cup of coffee. I came in after a night out and not feeling all that great (I think I kept my sunglasses on the whole time), I ordered a Lunch Special - The Cheesesteak Sandwich. What can I say? It was over both sides of the plate, and what wasn't covered by sandwich, was blocked by mounds of fries, and this is AFTER a cup of tasty Soup! Good Beef, lots of Provolone Cheese, Mushrooms and Green Peppers. Yes, they have A-1 Steak Sauce if you like. I'm a big eater and was pretty hungry but I could barely finish this beast. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I Just had one of the most disgusting dining experiences ever. The evening started out with an open Sweet and Low packet in the bread bowl that contained unwrapped bread sticks, which means they serve bread that could have who knows what on it. They replaced the bread bowl. I ordered the lasagna dinner, I swiped my bread in the sauce and tasted chocolate. I looked down and saw a brown smear stuck to the side of the bowl. I asked my husband to taste it, it was chocolate stuck to the side of my lasagna bowl. The owner had the audacity to tell us that it was "OK because they sterilized their dishes." She said she wouldn't comp the meal because we "ate the soup." She took $3.00 off our total. While our waitress was good, the response by the owner was completely unacceptable and unprofessional, so we won't be going back. read more

BEWARE!!! I ordered carry out and as soon as the food entered my home I could smell it wasn't good. I have ordered 4x in the past and when I received rancid nachos I called to let them know. The person was very rude, didn't seem concerned and said it wasn't their problem and to take it up with the delivery service. I've been trying to like this place off and on for the past three years. It would seem to be a good place for basic "American" food, but they always fall short in the taste department. I've tried their sandwiches, salads, breakfasts and without fail, every time the food tastes a bit strange--like maybe it hit a plate that wasn't rinsed off, or the food ingredients were too old. Two recent trips with the parents yielded pita bread that tasted like old grease, hash browns that tasted like breakfast left-overs that were microwaved, and sausage that had a soapy aftertaste. I'm not a fussy eater, and can lower my standards or raise them based on the type of restaurant, but there are SO many other options in the metro Detroit area that far surpass this quality of food and at similar or lower prices. Look through my reviews for clues! I have a pretty high tolerance for dives, and drive-ins, but I just can't make this place happen for me. Sorry--love the Greek pillars, tho! read more

Well, I had wanted to try this place for a while. I had a good experience and a bad experience both on my first trip here. They have a huge menu, I couldn't decided between a turkey dinner, or chicken scilcilano, which I love with the ammoggio sauce. I chose the chicken, bad experience. The chicken itself was the only good thing. The ammoggio sauce? ICK! This was NOT ammoggio sauce, it was diced tomatoes and garlic, in chunks. It should have had the consistancy of marinara sauce, to pour on the chicken or dip the chicken in. And the pasta that came with it? ICK....I don't know what is the deal with their spaghetti sauce, it's worse than from a can, it's like......just not spaghetti sauce.....all around bad choice, unless you get fries instead of pasta, or mashed, and don't plan on using the ammoggio sauce....but then it's not chicken scilcilano. BUT....I ordered a turkey dinner to take home. I saw one on the other table and it looked great. When I got it home later, it WAS great. And they do give you huge portions for a decent price. My sister also had something called Italian Meatloaf parmasian, which again had that crappy spaghetti sauce. So I guess it's hit or miss. We may go back again sometime and try their breakfasts, but no more Italian anything. read more

Went today for late lunch/early dinner. Hubs got fish and mac and cheese and I got fish and chips. Our server was great (sorry, forgot her name) very pleasant and good at her job. Hubs said his mac and cheese was ok but not really hot enough. My fries were good. Fish breading fell off with each bite. Wasn't really crispy..like the grease wasn't hot enough when fish was dropped in. I've had better. Chicken noodle soup was barely ok. One very tiny piece of chicken in the whole bowl and no flavor at all. Hadn't been to Rose's in years and probably won't go back. There is better food elsewhere. This is the second time I've been here and both times it was not great it wasn't even mediocre.I'm rating it at two because my service was good and the waitress was very nice and the manager was very kind as well. But I was very disappointed in the quality of food that came out of the kitchen I ordered the nachos. There was barely any shredded cheese on it , the meat looked old ,the chips were straight out of the bag and the olives and green peppers were all dried out and then I had asked if I could have more cheese and they bring me out something that looked like the color of cheese as seen in the picture and looked like it came out of a squeeze tube. I also ordered the mini Greek salad which was fresh and I was happy about that. The manager told me that that green pepper she would've eaten no problem, I said but I am at a restaurant, I order food and I would expect that I would get fresh food I would never serve something to somebody that I wouldn't eat myself and that's when she said that she would eat it. The picture doesn't do it any justice it was dried out and definitely not fresh, I would expect that I would get fresh food, I know what fresh vegetables look like. Just sayin. So she tells me that it's a very busy restaurant and that maybe it's just not for me because a lot of other people like it and sometimes it's just not for everybody and I said well I just expect to get fresh food when I go to a restaurant. She was very nice but at the end of the day I wonder what's going on in that kitchen. Gordon Ramsay where are you? LOL. They were very kind but needless to say I will not be returning because both times the food that I was served didn't look like I believe food should look when you get it at a restaurant I don't know how else to put it, and I'm not that picky. Just had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience at Roseann's Kitchen. The manager was rude as hell because we complained that the following issues happened during our meal: Middle son's salad contained a large piece of plastic from a bag. The French fries were cooked in very old oil The cheese on oldest son's burger was stale My gyro meat was under cooked Youngest son asked for a bacon burger with NO cheese - cheese makes him sick. The sandwich arrived with cheese. We informed our waitress who promptly took it to the kitchen where the cook proceeded to only rip the cheese & bacon off and send back the same burger with cheese still on the bun & part if the burger. At check out while trying to explain what happened to the manager we were treated with so much disrespect it was not funny. She blamed the waitress and told us that no one told her about the plastic in the salad. Said it wasn't there. Thankfully another gentleman that was sitting next to us piped up and said he saw middle son bite into it. Then she kept telling us she was taking it off the bill and she didn't want to discuss it again. What absolute bull!! Piss me off enough and yes dear darling manager, I WILL raise my voice. Afraid someone will hear how substandard your food is? I have EVERY intention of calling the health department over this. If you treasure your health you will NEVER eat there! Service is always horrible. Breakfast is typically very good. Messed up my omelette but waitress never comes to check on us until the bill is given. That has happened every time I've been, never see the waitress from the time the food is served until the bill comes. Prices are decent. Stopped in for lunch while enroute to Costco. Havent been here in a while. I got the greek salad with cabbage soup. Wife got Mexican omelette. Portion size was hugh, even mine, which was a lunch special. Really tasty!!! Looking at what others got everything looked equally good and was generous size. Friendly staff and good service. There was a line of about 10 in front of us, but we were still seated rather quickly. Our waitress was a pleasure, even whilst running her A** off! Me and bestie ordered the exact same thing, Breakfast bowl, with eggs over easy, and rye toast! It was awesome, even the rye was slighlty burnt, but we didn't care it was tasTy!! I have been eating here regularly for the last 4 months. I had always heard about Roseann's and finally made it in to be surprised at how big and pretty this place actually is! There are always great specials to choose from (the fish and chips rival any franchise and the short ribs are delicious). I am definitely saving money by coming here and getting huge portions for really low prices, unlike most restaurants. I have gotten to know many of the waitstaff and management because they are so friendly and welcoming. They really go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. my family and I had an interesting dinner today. While we were waiting on My son to finish his rehearsal. We stopped at Roseanne's to eat. I got saganaki and as the waitress attempted to do this it all went wrong! She threw the alcohol on the top(splash on it everywhere, table, floor, me, etc.) then quickly lite the cheese and as everything caught on fire she decided to turn quickly and throw the cheese on our table and make the problem bigger. Then the manager ran over and knocked it on the floor. Luckily no one was seriously hurt (the waitress and I got small burns from the splatter). I like mom and pop restaurants, the kind that typically makes one or two menu items right there, special, like a soup, or a quick bread, a pasta sauce, or a spinach pie. Here, NOTHING is made. Everything is taken out of a freezer bag and fried. Or, for the "Greek" items, nuked. They serve a "clam chowder" on Friday. YIKES - stay far away from that sludge. A bowl that the spoon stands up in is not a good sign when it comes to any chowder. In THIS case, that spoon stood upright in a bowl of pale instant mashed potatoes, thinned. No salt. No clams. No flavor. No pepper. No potato chunks: THIS WAS PURE INSTANT MASHED POTATO SLUDGE. WORST THING I"VE ACTUALLY BEEN SERVED IN ANY RESTAURANT ANYWHERE. After the initial shock after the first bite I tried a few more bites. Yes, it's NOT soup - you BITE it. Yes, it is tasteless. Yes, mushy watered-down instant mashed potatoes. No, nothing else there. I put that toxic junk away from me on the table. The waitress must have a habit of watching every table that has one of those "clam chowder GOTCHA's" on the table, in order to quickly remove the bowls once the diners have had their shock: she comes QUICKLY, says, quickly without looking at your face, "done?" while whisking it quickly out of sight - she doesn't WANT you to tell her why it is basically untouched. She doesn't ask, and I mean, this bowl is FULL. She doesn't want people at other tables to see the sludge or hear WHY you didn't take but one bite. She RUNS from the table with that bowl. read more
