I absolutely love this place! I'm currently out here for work, and it's become the perfect breakfast spot right across the street. I've already been there twice and tried the French toast, biscuits and gravy, the Lumberjack breakfast, and the sausage and egg sandwich. The biscuits were a little crumbly and the gravy had a bit of a different taste than I'm used to, but honestly, everything else has been incredible. I can't rave enough about the French toast -- even the bread alone is amazing. The bacon is perfectly cooked, the eggs are super fluffy and delicious, and the sausage and egg sandwich was absolutely amazing. Added a picture of the sausage and egg sandwich -- which was absolutely amazing. I wish I would've gotten a picture of the French toast too, but it didn't last long enough for that. That alone should say how good it was. I've tried quite a few breakfast spots around here, and this has officially become my go-to breakfast place every morning.

This place uses salad dressing from a store bought bottle. Disgusting and ridiculous.

Ambiance was modern casual decor which was relaxing. Service was friendly, efficient and very helpful. Shout out to Jennifer! They do have happy hour but only at the bar. Dad and I hsat in the main dining area. I tried their Apple Spritz cocktail. Very nice drink. Refreshing. We both were not super hungry so we opted for the samplers and a Caesar salad. The salad was very very good. Authentic Caesar dressing. Perfect. Dad had the basil tomato soup which was delicious. I had the steak bites which were served in a dish along with mushrooms and onions jin an amazing sauce. Sauce was so good you could drink it. The steak itself was cooked perfect. Tender with a nice char. They serve it with some grilled bread! Yummy. Dang this food was good. While we didn't try any pastas or main dishes, if what we had was any indication of the type of food to expect from the rest of the menu I can say I will be back and I highly recommend giving Verona a visit.

The venue is along west side of Van Dyke, JUST north of 21 Mile, technically in Shelby Twp. Look for the BIG pink rose sign on the corner of the building. Vibe and First Impressions. WOW. We always enjoy sitting at the bar, as we tend to have better service in restaurants that way. This was not the case here. I asked for a red eye. It is a shot of espresso in a cup of coffee. I ordered a redeye and quickly followed up with what it was. The bartender did not know what it was and seemed irritated with me. The food presentation is pretty, but lacks taste and flavor. I ordered the little Betty omelette. It is large in size. I asked for my toast option to be biscuits. They offer biscuits and gravy on the menu. The bartender looked at her handheld computer and said they don't do that. My boyfriend was tempted to order the biscuits and gravy and ask them to hold the gravy. I felt like it was more of an issue that she did not know how to request this on her handheld computer as opposed to this being unavailable to the customer. Either way, she did not seek it out further and told me no. I settled for the English muffin. My boyfriend ordered the classic eggs Benedict. MEH. The hollandaise sauce tasted a lot like mayonnaise that was yellow. He ordered a Diet Coke and it was flat. He was never offered a refill. I requested a refill of coffee, twice, from two different waitstaff. Neither followed through. My English muffin was served dry and I was never offered any butter or jelly. We left disappointed. I can't say that we would come back. There is a lot of competition in the area for breakfast and brunch places. They've clearly dropped a lot of money into the decor, but I don't see this Restaurant lasting for very long.

Bathrooms are all the way down along the hallway to the left. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Told to sit anywhere. Waitress asked if we've been there before we hadn't. She explained that they have a coffee menu in addition to full breakfast and lunch all day. Waitress was nice. She would check in on us throughout our stay. They had a special's menu and I went with the s'mores iced latte. It was served in a beautiful fluted glass. Topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. I really didn't get a lot of coffee flavor? It just tasted more like chocolate. Got the berryFrench toast. The French toast wasn't too thick bread wise. But also wasn't thin toast either, perfect sized toast. It was beautifully displayed, along with the compote and berry toppings. So delicious! Did not have the taste of it being cooked with 20 other menu items on a flat top. My husband got the bass omelette which included kielbasa. That was absolutely delicious! You do not see kielbasa a lot especially in an omelette. The kielbasa had a great smoky flavor and the omelette was a good portion. The tater tots were crunchy and flavorful. Our meal came out quick and hot and able to keep moving with our day.

Mixed feelings about this place. A group of us met at this…read morerestaurant last night, to try a place we haven't been. Wow. The odor when you walk in, is awful. Old moldy/wet wood smell on top of musty carpet stench? Best way to describe it. If we didn't have such a large crowd meeting up, I would have walked out based on that alone...the mold/must smell was just so pungent. The women's bathroom was clean, the men's bathroom (reportedly... I didn't personally enter, but was told by one of the men that the bathroom stunk really bad and the urinal didn't flush. The waitress was very good. MOST of our chairs (back room area) were all dangerously wobbly. THAT is uncalled for...just basic repair and should be a priority for safety reasons. Two of the chairs were so bad, we had to exchange them with an empty table (plenty of empty tables and available chairs to choose from) for fear they would collapse. That experience was super disappointing, simply because it "screams" neglect and gives (what I perceive as the attitude of "whatever... I just don't care". You mean to tell me that of all of the employees or managers moving those chairs around, not one person thought "Wow...these chairs are really bad...let's secure these legs to the seat/back with some screws?" We cut the bread and several of us took a bite... was not good...an odd strange flavor...then, we noticed the mold on the bottom. They apologized and comped two of our drinks - which was nice. The coffee - barely warm. A fresh pot was made and it was hot, as it should be. My California Portabella (mushroom spinach red pepper and onion) baguette was amazing and very flavorful. A friend had the same with cheese and she also thought it was super good. All of our fries and onion rings were barely warm. Slaw was pretty good. The feedback of others: Flaming cheese "good" and crab cakes "good". BBQ Dino Ribs - "okay... a bit tough" ... taco salad "okay" ... steak "good" ... chicken - "nice smaller portion for a lady, but it was dry". Chopped Sirloin "okay, would not get it again". Prime Rib Dip "good". Three people (two men and one woman) ordered meatloaf and they all really liked it.
