12/23/2022: Here's my backstory . . . I bought two Hawaiian dresses at the Honolua Store on Office Drive, Maui; please review my Honolua Store receipt. Anyway, I wore one of the dresses I bought for one of the several days I went snorkeling at the "Steps." Sadly, the Hawaiian dress was caught on a large, coral rock from when an eight-foot wave crashed into me, i.e., before putting on my snorkel, mask, and fins which when the dress caught onto the coral rock, the dress unfortunately ripped, snagged, and disappointingly left a gaping hole via the dress' side seam!!!! Fast Forward: December 16, 2022, I visited Rose showing her the Hawaiian dress' ripped and snagged seam. Rose scheduled I pick up my Hawaiian dress on Wednesday, 12/21/2022; however, she didn't sew the ripped seam as promised. Finally, I picked up my Hawaiian dress late this afternoon, 12/23/2022, i.e., paying Rose $5.00 in cash for the dress' seam repaired. BTW: Ooof! I had another brain-fart~I forgot taking a photo of the dress' ripped seam BEFORE Rose repaired the snagged, ripped seam; upon picking up the dress today, I can't tell where the dress was snagged and ripped open! read more

My aunt used to go here regularly. I had some things I wanted repaired, so she brought me. Obviously, tailoring is something you only do for items you care about, so these were some of my most loved items. A mustard pencil skirt, a blouse, a couple dresses. She kept having delays in the repairs. To the point where I moved out of state before she finished, but my aunt still lived here and would call periodically to see if she was done. Several years pass with them still never being repaired. Empty promises of "soon". I finally said that I just want the items back so I can take them somewhere else. My aunt called to let her know and she said she needed to "find them" and that she would call for us to pick them up when she did. We were never called. read more

I was so impressed with Rose, her personality, her knowledge and service, speed, expertise. I read her reviews, and needed someone to sew my expensive jacket where it ripped, and she went above and beyond what I expected, feels like a new jacket again. She loves what she does! I was so impressed with her, I brought my daughter to resize her dress a few weeks later, which was a better price than the other competitors. She's almost a secret I don't want to share, but she is so good, she deserves good business. I drive almost an hour just for her to work her magic. And she is so kind. read more

Got charged about 4x what I have been charged in the past for a simple hem straight across the bottom... $88! She was delightful but FAR too expensive! read more

I called Rose because I split my work pants. I was working out of town at the time and she was able to fix them the same day at a reasonable price. The other company I called made me make an appointment several days away that didn't work out. Will use whenever I'm in Placerville. Such a nice lady. read more

I had lost a lot of weight so I had a few shirts to be altered as well as a zip up sweater jacket I got in Tahoe. I told her she could take her time but over a year later they still weren't finished and she lost the sweater jacket. She kept promising she'd look for it and call me back but no calls after multiple attempts. read more

Rose is a doll! If you cut your pants wrong or need a custom outfit, she can pretty much do whatever you need.

Rose has altered Both my prom dresses, bridesmaids dresses and my sisters wedding dress. She did a fantastic job, she is so sweet and funny it feels like getting your dress hemmed by a friend! read more

Amazing seamstress!! I ended up in her shop by chance and she is extremely talented! I bought my wedding dress from her daughter's shop, directly across from hers, and then Mrs. Rose altered it to fit me! She was able to take the dress in and add some new designs to it that I described I would like added if possible and she made it possible!! Definitely a very talented lady and someone I will continue to come back to! P.s) She also has a great cause she donates too! Rose is an absolute gem!!! We were supposed to get married in July and had bought my husband's suit from Men's Wearhouse with the intention of having it tailored through them. Due to Covid all of the stores had closed with no reopening date as of June. We were pressed for time and didn't know where to turn to. That's when I did some research and found Rose!!! She was able to get us in right away and knew exactly what he wanted!! She tailored his suit in record time and it was perfect!!! Not only that, but she also didn't charge us our first born for the services!! She was amazing and sweet and I highly recommend going to see Rose for all of your alteration needs!!! I need a new pair of suit pants tailored overnight and she was able to get them done both on time and very professionally. I had a pair of jeans hemmed at the same time, and though I didn't need them rushed they were waiting for me the next morning too, which I appreciated for saving me a trip. I'm not new to having clothes altered so I was slightly concerned when I dropped off the pants because she didn't use any chalk and used far fewer pins than any other tailor been to, but when I picked them up they fit exactly like I expected and I am completely satisfied. The only complaint I have is that it was about twice as expensive as most places I've been, but 1) it's a small town and there's not much competition, and 2) she did it correctly and quickly. The bottom line is I wouldn't hesitate to return next time I need alterations. read more

Rose is the BEST! She is friendly and gets the job done. I've had hems adjusted, tears and holes fixed, new elastic put into waistbands, and more.She even repaired our comforter that was exploding feathers everywhere. Everything Rose does is done with a smile. Very reasonable rates, too. read more

Dropped off husband's fave leather jacket for a new liner on 11/08/16, which Rose stated would be completed in time for Xmas. Called her 12/19 to make arrangements to pick up jacket and she said it "wouldn't be done in time and would probably cost more than I would want to pay." We never discussed cost prior (she couldn't even give me an estimate, but said she would get back to me with that and never did). IMO, she doesn't even deserve 1 star, but you can't leave a review without it. read more

NO! NO! NO! BEWARE ! Rose will quote you a reasonable fee and then charge you $200-250 more than quote! She doesn't call to tell you that it is more (almost twice as much as the original quote and for no more work then the original needs!), then she threatens to call the police if you don't pay her full amount. She has you agree to an original low price( and you will because it is fair-even though it is a bit costly) then after she does the work you both agreed to at the lower price she will tell you it is much much more expensive and then threaten to call the police if you don't pay her the higher price ! To top it all off she lost the original wedding dress bag. Save your money find another place to get your alterations done. read more
