Another appetizer we got separately was the fried calamari which had a great crunchy texture, the absolute best! She spoke directly with the manager, Anastasia Sokol. Anastasia personally walked my mother into the private room, showed her the space, and asked which side of the room we preferred. My mother clearly explained that we wanted the side closer to the window. Everything was discussed and confirmed, and a $150 deposit was taken. Then, about two weeks later, my mother came back to the restaurant again to make sure everything was still in order. Shockingly, Anastasia acted as if she was seeing my mother for the first time. Despite that, they went through everything again. They discussed the menu again, reviewed the private room again, and once again talked about exactly where we wanted to sit. Then came the most unbelievable part. Our celebration is on Saturday, with all of our guests already invited and everything planned. On Thursday evening, just two days before the event, we received a call from Debby asking us whether we wanted to sit "outside or inside," as if none of the previous conversations, room selection, deposit, and planning had ever happened. We were then told that the private room/space we had arranged was not available for us. This is extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable. My mother physically came to the restaurant two separate times, spoke directly with the manager, was personally shown the private room, chose the side of the room we wanted, discussed the menu, and paid a deposit. To call us only a couple of days before the celebration and suddenly act as if these arrangements never existed is incredibly unprofessional. At this point, all of our guests have already been invited, the celebration has been planned around this reservation, and we are being left at the last minute without the space that was promised to us. We are very, very disappointed with how this was handled. What should have been a happy family celebration has now turned into unnecessary stress because of the way this reservation was managed. We will definitely be escalating this matter to upper management, contacting the owner of the restaurant, and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because this situation needs to be addressed. The way this was handled effectively ruined the plans for our party, and we would never expect this kind of treatment after confirming the same reservation in person twice and paying a deposit.
