I'm so happy to have found another Greek restaurant in the suburbs! This is such a beautifully decorated restaurant that has a calming ambiance. I think it's a great addition to Hanover Park. The service is excellent. Staff are warm and welcoming, and very attentive! The food is delicious. We were loving it all! I would say it's definitely authentic. We really enjoyed the table bread that was served with a Kalamata spread and a separate tomato spread on the side. That Kalamata spread was wonderful! We ordered the charred octopus and saganaki for our appetizers. Both were really good. The saganaki was crispy on the top and at the edges. Yum! The lamb chops were cooked exactly how I ordered them (well-done). They come with a side of Greek potatoes and they had so much flavor and a nice, soft texture. My friend ordered the brown butter noodle dish. It was light and topped with cheese and spices. I will definitely be back! Great experience! read more

A friend and I stopped in for a weekend lunch and had a nice time. This Greek restaurant is very spacious. While I was there I noticed the customers were mostly families (tables of 9+) vs smaller groups. Service throughout was good. Food was timed out well, but we did wait a little bit longer for our larger plate. We tried the beet and spinach salad, saganaki, and the lamb shank. My favorite was the beet and spinach salad. It was light, refreshing and very tasty. The saganaki and lamb shank were just OK. I've had worse and I've also had better. read more

Raki was a very pleasant experience! The restaurant is decorated beautifully. We're welcomed by the staff in a very kind way. The bar drinks were very good quality. All of the food was delicious. The saganaki was traditional and delicious and not too oily. When we ordered the fried zucchini we were pleasantly surprised at how light it actually was and not overly heavy or oily either. The giant prawns was a very pleasant surprise and it was like eating lobster. Make sure you use the sauces at the bottom of the plate because that is one of the best parts. The bread with the different spreads he came with was very addicting and delicious. The braised lamb shank that I ordered was reminiscent of a similar dish which was also a braised lamb shank when we visited Santorini. The meat was extremely tender and juicy, especially as he got closer to the Bone. The orzo and the dish was amazing as well. If they offer a dessert that is to buy chocolate with a pistachio gelato, we highly recommend trying this dish. The different textures and flavors are amazing and hit the right spot after all, their delicious and savory food. It's to the point where I was debating on coming back tomorrow. I am so glad RAKI joined the local Hanover Park community. I attended a grand opening/ribbon cutting here and cannot wait to return. Everything I tasted was delicious, especially the three dips combo with fresh veggies and pita bread wedges, and the grilled chicken skewers. The highlight of my meal was the baklava cheesecake. The staff are very nice and gracious hosts. The restaurant is beautiful inside. I look forward to returning after work and trying more of their foods, and cocktails too! read more

This is our new Favorite Greek restaurant! We had the App sampler and it was delicious. It should come with a second pita though. Beef Bucatini and Chicken Kabobs are amazing! Portions are large. We both have lunch for tomorrow! Pano our waiter was very helpful and attentive! The decor was nice. We have already made plans to come back next week. Tried Raki twice - got lemon rice soup the first time and then got some chicken with potatoes the second time. Food is not bad - the rice soup was tasty. The chicken was tender and tasty, the potatoes that came with the chicken were ok. Overall the food is good and I would recommend it. The restaurant is relatively new and has a nice setting. It seems that they are still working out the kinks of the operation/logistics though - there are some issues with our initial order when we got the lemon rice soup, and then when I came back the second time they had a bit of a hard time finding the menu. Raki is one of those places you walk out of already planning your next visit. The calamari is insanely fresh and perfectly cooked. Light, crispy, and not rubbery at all. And the charred octopus? So great. It's got that smoky char on the outside but is super tender inside. You can tell the seafood is top quality. The roasted lamb dishes are on another level. So tender it basically melts, packed with incredible flavor and spices that hit just right. Every bite is ridiculous. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. TLDR: A hard pass. Nice decor quickly upended by upselling, overpricing, paltry portions, and disppointing modern Greek food spin. Fully agree that the other positive reviews cannot be for this restaurant! Arriving at 1PM the empty attractive restaurant had us wondering. Both menus are available at lunchtime, but we had to ask for the lunch menu. Almost all ala carte, high prices with small portions did not satisfy at all. Regular menu prices missing on the website. Food at best was just good, not great. For a smallish appetizer sampler for 3, there was literally one cucumber slice, one carrot slice, a partial radish slice and 1/4 of a pita per person! Asking for extra bread resulted in an extra charge. Entree priced salads were tiny as in side salad size. The lamb gyros meat portion was tiny, half or less from the smallest I've ever gotten at any other Greek or Mediteranean sit-down restaurant. All tiny food except for the fries which were plentiful. We might have ordered the zucchini chips, but mint yogurt vs skordalia was not appealing. Their idea of modern Greek food falls short. Overpriced, staff upselling, ups and extras, small portions, modern Greek food spin not satisfying--the value for the customer is missing everywhere. One star because it was obvious. read more

Truly authentic Greek food FULL of flavor. The atmosphere is very calm and inviting, not too loud or busy. Service is 10/10, servers are very attending and quick to buss plates. All of our food came out quickly and still steaming. The calamari is perfectly cooked and served with a flavorful garlic sauce. The Saganaki is easily one of the best I've had at any Greek restaurant. Tzatziki sauce is to die for. The owner checked in with our table to ensure everything was tasting great and I can't find a single bad thing about this place or its food. Our entrees of lamb were soooo tender and the lamb was roasted for a whole day leading up to Greek Easter. Easily some of the best lamb I've had at any Greek Restaurant. The macaronia tasted just like my Yiayia used to make it. For dessert we got an espresso martini that was the perfect color in my opinion and the lava cake was the perfect amount of chocolate, not too fudgey . Owned by thoughtful people who truly care about good service and even more amazing food. After being very happy with our meal we come to find out the chef moved here from Greece where he was very well known as a reputable chef. This is not your typical Greek restaurant serving up the same traditional dishes. First off, the ambiance is incredible. Take a small footprint in a strip mall and transform it into a stylish,, modern space. Second, the warm welcome and high quality of service and attention was remarkable. It is unfortunate that this is not the norm in many places, but the level of service provided stood out. Finally the food. I highly recommend the zucchini chips as a starter as they were crispy and served with a delicious dipping sauce. My wife and I both ordered the special which was a whole red snapper deboned table-side with a wonderful sauce. Our son opted for lamb chops, which were meaty and perfectly prepared. There was a nice selection of wines to choose from as well as specialty cocktails. We ended our meal sharing the Dubai chocolate dessert, which was also a winner as well as a couple of Expresso martinis. They were delicious but could have been a bit larger. For $150, we got one drink, a small salad that was not Greek, bottled water, leg of lamb (which was good), over-charred small portion of octopus, and shrimp skewers that tasted funny. If there was a zero rating, I would give it that! We arrived rather early. The restaurant was not crowded but by the service given to us, you would've thought they were inundated with people. The server was not attentive at all. The food we ordered was subpar. I've been to a lot of Greek restaurants and this does not even qualify to be authentic.
