About a year ago, on my way back from Shilo, IL I stopped by Rosati's. They offer a large slice of pizza and a Drink for $5.00. It was after 1 pm and there were only 2 slices of cheese pizza in the case. The person at the counter said there were more pizzas in the oven and they would be up soon. It was worth the wait. The pepperoni pizza was hot and delicious even after traveling the 25 min. home. I told me wife about the deal and the experience..both being positive. Then, on two separate occasions, we went out of our way, while traveling, only to be disappointed because the deal is from 11 to 3:00. Today's experience...we arrived at 1:50 pm. We were excited because we were finally going to get the $5 deal. We went in the door and there was 1 slice of cheese pizza. I asked if more pizza was coming out. The gal behind the counter said no because it was a slow day and the pizza would go to waste. ( The lunch special was supposed to be valid for another 70 min. Any other restaurant will try to accomodate their patrons for lunch special up to and including 2:59.) There's counter person was not concerned about disappointing customers or even trying to show some empathy. We asked about ordering a pizza..."for here or to go"...."here"..."you have to order that in dining room". We discussed it while sitting and both felt that the person at the front counter need some customer relation training. Another person was working the dining area. She was very friendly. We placed our order for a 14" Classic Combo. It was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Our opinion, as we discussed it at length, is Rosati's has the best thin crust of all the pizza places we've eaten. Their sauce is a little tomato forward. They seem to care about the amount of toppings on the pizza. We did feel that the pie was light on the sausage. There was an ample amount of the other toppings including pepperoni. We noted the pepperoni tasted closer to bacon than the classic savory pepperoni flavor. And there was plenty of melty stringing cheese!!. I am really getting discouraged at the amount of money restaurants are charging for soft drinks. A 20oz soft drink costs the restaurant 5 to 15 cents for syrup and CO² and they charge the customer $3.75 to, in Rosati's cases $4.00. Ambiance...it's large and uses cold materials. Looks like a semi sports bar. Prices...on the higher end for pizza Wait staff...hit or miss... one good-one not so much. Amateur move to visit a chain restaurant on their opening day but here we are! Stopped in for dinner 12/27, the first day officially open, and the place was packed! I ordered 10" pepperoni deep dish and the side salad. Loved the Sweet Italian salad dressing (think sweet red vinegar Chicago style) but the salad wasn't much. How is some of the lettuce brown when it's the first day? The pizza was OK. Thick mozzarella, sweet but watery tomato chunks, ok crust (not buttery) and scant on the pepperoni. I've never had Rosati's before but it's not exactly what I was expecting. It was gushy and short on flavor. Some quips about the service: When we sat down one of the chairs at the table had food in the seat. The water tasted like lemonade. The waitress served the deep dish without a pizza server. When has anyone ever been served a deep dish at least 3 inches tall without a pizza server? Are we supposed to put our hands in the watery tomato sauce? I asked her to bring one. I saw a guy at the table next to us with his butter knife trying to figure out how he was going to get the slice to his paper plate. When the waitress brought the check it was hand written with $24.99 at the bottom. It wasn't itemized. I handed her my card and she came back with one credit card slip (merchant copy) for me to sign and motioned to the grease/sauce stained handwritten thing and said that's yours to keep. I have to say the deep dish pizza here was super delicious! This is not the best crust I've ever had but the pizza itself was amazing. It really hit the spot. They generously gave you a coupon for free garlic knots which were delicious. My family prefers thin crust pizza and it is good as well, but if you're a thick crust hound like I am, you'll really enjoy this. The sauce is nice and not sweet at all. Overall, the food was pretty good. Tons of ingredients in fact, in my opinion just a little bit too much ingredients if that's possible. The antipasto salad was loaded with all of the toppings with very very little lettuce. I was disappointed that the Rosita's house dressing Was actually in a 3 ounce plastic sealed cup. The pizza crust was flavorful, but I think our pizza was slightly undercooked as many of the vegetables were close to raw. I think there should've been a little more sauce given the complexity and thickness of the crust. Our server was nice as soon as we sat down she wanted us to order appetizers. We had never been there and we're looking at the menu. She checked back with us about every 2 1/2 minutes to see if we were ready to order. It felt like we were being rushed from the very beginning. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich to go and it went out to the wrong table so I did not get that. The place is brand new and has been open since December 26. There are always wrinkles to iron out in a new store opening. It is my opinion that the training was very very weak. There was no visible management on the floor. Two of the managers were behind the bar and one was in the kitchen . There was a couple that had waited for 30 minutes and yet there were several tables available. It appeared that the floor was being managed by teenage girls at the hostess desk. We were told that they were out of ice tea, mushrooms, ranch dressing, root beer, banana, peppers, and several other things. I would say it's a rough opening for them, and I hope that they're able to recover and not lose too much market share. Not a big fan of paying $50 for a 14 inch pizza and a salad and then have to eat it off of a 6 inch paper plate. I will try it again at another time read more

I had to try it after living in the Chicago NW suburbs for ten years. If you love them there, you won't be disappointed. It's exactly as I recall. However, this might be good or bad. As it is my opinion, they are an overpriced pizza joint. Sadly, we have our share of these restaurants throughout Madison County. But the location is everything, especially for this location. Right off the I270 interstate and IL 111, several distribution centers also well-insulated the building for regular clientele; it might be the perfect recipe for Rosati's to build their first location in the county. The place is less than a month old, so yes, it's a clean, fresh, and well-lit location. The food is fresh and tasty, and there are plenty of items to choose from. Service was outstanding. My only complaint is the acoustics. It's impossible to have a conversation with your guest. But, in all honesty, the place was packed. I had the lasagna and didn't think it was worth $16. However, that seems to be the accepted price in the STL area for a medium-sized helping of lasagna and two garlic bread wedges. If you're in the area, I recommend it for a casual meal. But, it's not worth an extra drive or a nice quiet evening meal. But, there again, this isn't usually the destination for such a choice. However, if you're looking for a new place to eat good pizza and watch the game, this could be one of your regular stops! read more

I spent over $200 on food for my team. It was disgusting! Are food was cold, overcooked, mushy, and dry. The Lasagna was rubbery. We order a chicken pizza and don't even get chicken. The garlic bread was just a smash burnt hotdog bun. There wasn't even much garlic on it. We ordered Cheef and asked for garlic bread. And we didn't get it. It was just a bunch of cold cheese. We have a bunch of wings. And we didn't even get a half pound of wings. These are wings we ordered were cold. And we didn't even get all the wings we ordered. The other pizzas we ordered were stale. Ordered the food around 2:30 pm and had it set to be picked up at 5 pm. When I got there at 5:15 pm. They said the pizzas were ready. We are just waiting for the wings and lasagna to be cooked. Asked how long that would be they said a couple of minutes. Another lady was sitting next to me. And I asked her how long she had been waiting for her food. She said she had been waiting over an hour just for a pizza and dough bites. So I waited another 15 minutes. Then asked how much longer would it be. They said it would be 30 minutes. Told them I had to be back at work. She said she would just call me when it was ready. So I go back to work. It hit 6:35 pm. We called them and asked how much longer. We asked to speak to the manager. We get put on hold. Then they hung up on us. A couple of minutes later. I get a call. They are putting the last lasagna in the oven. So Damien Collier goes and picks up the food. A couple minutes later I get a call from the restaurant. We forgot the salad. Remind you three of the female workers help put the food IN HIS CAR! So he drives back and gets it. After he brings the food in. We start opening it up. We were so disappointed. we called the restaurant several times. Asked to speak to the owner. But they just gave us the manager. And he would NOT refund us the money. He asked for the photos we sent them. He said nothing was wrong. He said he took the pizza out of the oven. But that was a lie. Because at 5:15 when I went there. The pizzas were already done! You tell me. For $200 does this food like good for you to eat? Please repost and share this post. The only positive thing I have to say is we had an awesome waitress but everything else about this place was downright awful. We ordered a variety of food and almost nothing was right. The pasta dishes came out cold, the salad was hot, the Chicago Italian beef sandwich came out with just beef on a generic hoagie bun, and the pizza's were on the wrong crust type. When we finally got to tell our waitress that the order was wrong a "manager" came over and treated like we were lying to not have to pay. We were very rudely asked if we wanted the pizzas remade and we said yes and then she very nastily stated that they would have to take the ones we had. My family does not eat thin crust so I told her to please take them and we didn't want them we just wanted what we ordered. The pizza finally came out and we were ready to leave. Management wanted to charge us for the pizzas they had to remake but thanks to an honest employee that didn't happen. Again our waitress was awesome but the rest of the staff needs retraining about customer service. The food was subpar and not worth what we spent. Tonight was my 3rd attempt to eat here and after my experience tonight I definitely Will Not be returning. 1st I understand it is still a new business and everything isn't perfect. 1st attempt was their 2nd day open and was told it was carry out only. 2nd attempt was told they are not taking orders their system was down. Ok I'm understanding in both situations they need to get everything in order after all it's new to everyone. But Tonight takes the cake. We pull up and after walking around the building the front doors are on the back of the building. You walk in to the carry out section of the business and We was pointed in the direction to be seated for dine in. The girl ask how many we tell her she gets menus and says hold on I need to see if I have a table available she comes back and says it will be 10-15 mins. By the way I counted at least 5 empty tables. As we are waiting I noticed they are bringing 1 item at a time out of the kitchen 1- appetizer and 1 pizza in the 15 minutes we was waiting. We was finally seated the waitress comes to get our drink order and took them then she says just so you know it will be at least 45 minutes for a pizza. ARE YOU JOKING? You make me wait for a table when there was clearly tables available then take my drink order to then tell me it will be at least 45 mins to get food. Seems to me they are trying to get people to just leave I'm not sure if they only have one cook or what to send one item out at a time. I understand things don't always run smoothly but what we experienced tonight was unacceptable and very unprofessional. Can't rate the food. Couldn't get Food. I won't return. read more

This was our second visit, both times reservations were made for a group of about twenty, both times we had only one server neither one seemed to have any experience or training. Question: The normal custom is to assign two servers for a large group, is this a new inexperienced manager, he was there when our server was bringing out glasses of water - 3 at a time then back for 3 more etc.. First time visiting Rosati's Pizza today. It's a beautiful new building with modern design and has a nice flow. Great for larger parties too. It had an inside and outside bar area. The sunroom area is a nice, light and bright dinning space for families. Upon entry we were greeted and welcomed. The menu has plenty of options and even fair priced kids meals for the littles ($5.99-pasta with garlic bread or pizza & drink). We shared a large pizza (16in) with half and half toppings, order the dough nuggets, and hot wings. The guys ate wings and said they were your standard sauce, which wasn't hot in their opinion. The chicken was solid for the average wing. The dough nuggets are fluffy, garlic and parmesan covered (and in a good amount where you taste the flavor) and come with a marinara style sauce (little more sweet side of sauces). The pizza was great! We ordered the thin crust, which still has a crust to it. I'd describe it as a thin hand tossed. Great flavor in the sauce (similar to a Romas style sauce in my opinion), great amount of mozzarella cheese, excellent REAL Italian sausage! The pan it's served on has the bubble type pan so the crust is delicious! We enjoyed it! My sons got the spaghetti kids meal and enjoyed it too. Sweet sauce in our opinion, and more of a chunky (maybe overly sauced) style but decent portion and delicious garlic bread with it. They serve Pepsi products, which is also a win for us. They offer some coupons on their takeout menu (you can find when you first walk in). We were able to get our dough nuggets free (a $10.99 value)! They also advertise a jumbo slice of pizza and 20oz drink at lunch time (during week) for $5! That's a great deal! Clean restrooms and restaurant. Very friendly staff, our waitress was super accommodating and friendly, which is always appreciated! Overall, if you're looking for somewhere new to try I'd highly recommend. We will be back! We wanted to order a large half & half pizza but they do not allow you to do that. We ordered 2 small pizzas instead. They were both specialty. wanted to add one ingredient to one of them but they said they could bring it on the side but could not add it in and cook it that way. they will take away an ingredient but not add any! Makes no sense to me other than money but they can charge extra for the one ingredient but won't. if we were to do order and add all the same ingredients as a build your own, of course it comes out to be much more! I have never seen a place not let you add or change out an ingredient. It was a little slow to get pizzas once we ordered. they were good. Took an hour to get the pizza and when we did very little sausage. There were pieces that didn't have any sausage on it at all. Beyond disappointing. This was an awful experience from start to finish. Our party of four sat down, ordered drinks and appetizers then waited for awhile. A table of ten sat down and were served their drinks, apps and dinners before we got our one appetizer of mozzarella sticks. Waitress said she saw that but did nothing. My son's boneless wings came out in a to go container with barely any sauce. My other son ordered a pizza which he said was fine. My wife and I ordered a thin crust sausage pizza and it came out super late and under cooked. We ate two pieces and left the rest on the table. No waiters or waitresses cared as they just brought our check and didn't say anything. The owners had their own table with about 6 people eating their food without care what was going on in the restaurant. The amount of employees was astonishing. So many. One employee had long dreadlocks and when she walked by every 30 seconds her hai would graze the table and food. This was a truly disgusting experience as my wife and I gre up in Chicago and were looking forward to this place. I fear this place will be closed very soon. It is obvious that the owners simply bought the name but have no idea how to deliver. Shame on them and shame on Rosati's for no standards or quality control. This place is by a huge baseball complex and could see a whirlwind of business but with this lack of quality I expect it to be closed shortly. So disappointed. Would not recommend at all. read more

I was fortunate to meet the owner and manager both whom are so excited about this new opening. They were both very nice and super excited to hear all the feedback on the new restaurant. When I say this is the best pizza I have ever had I mean it! WAY better than the other local thin crust we all know in STL. This crust is thin but still thick enough that it doesn't turn into cardboard like others do when they bake it. It was so full of flavor through out, the pepperoni wasn't that thin frozen peperoni that you get on other pizzas this is gourmet pepperoni, the cheese is real and has good pull and plenty of it! The sauce is so amazing not the commercial pizza sauce people are used to. So if you want a thin crust pizza that isn't a frisbee with real cheese and homemade pizza sauce this is the place!!!!!
