    Small House Salad - Carry-Out
    Steven B.

Decaro's takes St Louis Thin Crust Pizza and kicks it up to another level. Their sauce has a spicy kick and the sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese on top of the Provel gives it a bonus of flavor. My recent lunch carry-out was a small pepperoni pizza and a small dinner salad. The pizza was done perfectly, the crust had a crispy crunch and every bite had a slice of pepperoni. Their dinner salad was simply a mix of iceberg and Romaine lettuce, with shredded provel, parmesan, tomato, onion and a pepperoncini. For my dressing, I always go with Decaro's Creamy Italian. It's extra thick and mixes well with the salad greens. Dining in or picking up a carry-out, the staff is professional and friendly. I pass three pizza joints when I come for a carry-out and I can easily say it is worth the extra miles for a quality thin crust pizza.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. Fox2 news had a special coupon where you spend $25.00 and get $50.00 worth of food. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try. I went today I ordered a half cheese half sausage and pepperoni over the phone. However when I arrive for pickup it was half sausage half cheese, no biggie. I also ordered a small house salad with the house dressing. Everything was pretty good, the tangy pizza sauce grew on me. Wasn't sure what to make of it at first. My 5 year old approved also. Salad was very delicious as well as the house dressing. Good customer service, good deal. Family style restaurant, plenty of seating.

This place is a great option for a quality, low-cost dinner out in Alton. Thanks to Yelp, I convinced my mother in law to try out this new spot and we weren't disappointed. Parking is plentiful, the inside is spacious and can accommodate groups of 2 to 20, service is extremely attentive, and the prices are insanely decent. My sizable serving of Chicken Parm was only $12 and I was stuffed by the time I finished. I would describe the food quality as your mother's home cooking; certainly not upscale, but comforting and delicious. Will definitely return for another family dinner sometime.

This is what you get when you order the Decaros italian sub. Dominoes does a better job. I actually cannot deal. One of the weakest subs I've ever had. Thank you for the one slice of tomato for two subs btw!

I'm always searching for new pizza places locally as well as when I travel. I've seen Decaro's before but could never catch them open. They crossed my mind last night so I decided to order a pizza and chicken salad to go. I'm glad I did. The salad was amazing with plenty of chicken. The pizza was great as well. I like St. Louis style pizza which this is! The service was great! Everyone smiled and was courteous. I'll definitely go back.

I so so wanted my experience to be good at Decaro's. I live just blocks away and I so want to support my local businesses. But they blew it big time. Sorry but I'll never bother with them again. I went down just after work on Friday night. I told the teen worker that I wanted to do carry out. I ordered an Italian sub and an Italian beef sandwich. I was very excited to taste their Italian beef as it was my favorite from my time living in Chicago. I ordered it "hot" which means to have the hot giardiniara on it. ( the other is sweet peppers ) The young hostess then informed me it was going to be 40 minutes. I was a little taken aback but I thought I could walk about town for a while. I returned and got my food 40 minutes later and walked home. My wife's Italian sub had exactly one tomato slice on it and was mostly bread. Subway puts more on a sandwich. But my Italian beef angered me so much I almost walked it back. It was a roast beef sandwich. With obviously grocery store roast beef. No giardiniara No beef that's been simmering in Italian seasoned jus all day. It was STORE BOUGHT ROAST BEEF! IT WAS NOT ITALIAN BEEF and it even had a little cup of au jus! THATS ROAST BEEF PEOPLE NOT ITALIAN BEEF!! They didn't even follow their own menu. AND THEY MADE ME WAIT 40 MINUTES FOR THE WRONG THING! I don't know about you but that is an absolutely unacceptable mistake. I so wanted it to be my local Italian spot. I could see myself going there a lot. It's 2 blocks away. Nope. They don't get a second chance. The dog liked it just fine though.

Thick meaty thighs, curvaceous legs and wings that look as if the chicken has been pumping iron at the local gym. Big pieces, crispy flavorful coating and juicy meat. I primarily do carry-out and the quality of their take out is equally as good as when dining in the restaurant. Pick-up is smooth and fast, as they have a separate entrance and room for take-out. The staff is friendly and very professional. The service has that family owned business feel. If you're a fan of Onion Rings, I recommend enjoying an order as an appetizer. Their rings are super big and made in house. I do not like onion rings that come from a bag. When ordering my sides, I like mashed potatoes with white gravy. They also offer brown gravy, if that is your thing. My other side is always green beans. They make their green beans with bacon and onion. It reminds me of my momma's. With those two sides, it is a true Sunday Chicken Dinner on any day of the week. I've been coming to Castelli's my entire life. I started coming here as a child when it was called, Moonlight. Many of the locals still call it, Moonlight and no-one will correct them, because we all know where they are talking about. Service in the carry-out room is always speedy and friendly. So if you're a fan of fried chicken, I recommend ordering on-line for a pick-up. Or, treat yourself to a night out and dine in the restaurant. Remember to order the onion rings.

In addition to the bartenders, Tony's has an extra staff person behind the bar that takes care of food orders and keeps the bar glasses clean, too. That's good team work. The bartenders are masterful in their skills. I'm a classic cocktail drinker, so I usually enjoy a Martini, Manhattan or a Old Fashioned. I've also been know to order a Boulevardier and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I have the Cab when I enjoy their Tuesday Night steak special. It was after 1 pm and there were only 2 slices of cheese pizza in the case. The person at the counter said there were more pizzas in the oven and they would be up soon. It was worth the wait. The pepperoni pizza was hot and delicious even after traveling the 25 min. home. I told me wife about the deal and the experience..both being positive. Then, on two separate occasions, we went out of our way, while traveling, only to be disappointed because the deal is from 11 to 3:00. Today's experience...we arrived at 1:50 pm. We were excited because we were finally going to get the $5 deal. We went in the door and there was 1 slice of cheese pizza. I asked if more pizza was coming out. The gal behind the counter said no because it was a slow day and the pizza would go to waste. ( The lunch special was supposed to be valid for another 70 min. Any other restaurant will try to accomodate their patrons for lunch special up to and including 2:59.) There's counter person was not concerned about disappointing customers or even trying to show some empathy. We asked about ordering a pizza..."for here or to go"...."here"..."you have to order that in dining room". We discussed it while sitting and both felt that the person at the front counter need some customer relation training. Another person was working the dining area. She was very friendly. We placed our order for a 14" Classic Combo. It was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Our opinion, as we discussed it at length, is Rosati's has the best thin crust of all the pizza places we've eaten. Their sauce is a little tomato forward. They seem to care about the amount of toppings on the pizza. We did feel that the pie was light on the sausage. There was an ample amount of the other toppings including pepperoni. We noted the pepperoni tasted closer to bacon than the classic savory pepperoni flavor. And there was plenty of melty stringing cheese!!. I am really getting discouraged at the amount of money restaurants are charging for soft drinks. A 20oz soft drink costs the restaurant 5 to 15 cents for syrup and CO² and they charge the customer $3.75 to, in Rosati's cases $4.00. Ambiance...it's large and uses cold materials. Looks like a semi sports bar. Prices...on the higher end for pizza Wait staff...hit or miss... one good-one not so much. Food quality...(pizza) very good Lunch special...if you can get it, it's a great deal. The all important!! The left-over pizza is very good, cold straight from the refrigerator
