Pulled into a full parking lot and was concerned we wouldn't get a table, was seated immediately! Nice place, clean, spacious and well lit. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and a couple pizzas. Drinks and appetizer came out quickly along with the side house salad I ordered which consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and mozzarella. I had the house vinaigrette dressing which was a nice dressing for the basic salad. Toasted ravioli as the appetizer were crispy delicious with a savory marinara sauce!! Pizzas came out oven hot and loaded with mozzarella on top. Crust was crisped to perfection and the toppings were plentiful. A friend and I came here one evening to enjoy some pizza. She told me it was her favorite pizza place! Parking was easy, with a large parking lot outside the restaurant. Family-owned, Roma's was a delightful experience. After being seated, we were greeted by a friendly server and ordered our beverages. Browsing the menu, I ordered a Bosco Stick and a medium pizza. The Bosco Stick was warm and filled with gooey cheese. It reminded me so much of the Bosco Sticks I would eat as a child. The meat sauce was a great addition to use as a dip and wasn't too meaty. I ordered a medium pizza with extra cheese, jalapeños, and mushrooms. It was so good! The pizza came out about 25 minutes after ordering and satiated my pizza craving! Roma's is nothing fancy, however, it is a comfortable environment with delicious and affordable food. Next time I am in town, I will have to come back! read more

It was one of those nights and I was craving, pizza. I wanted something different than the joints near my home. So, I made the drive to B-Town and did carry-out from Roma's I placed my order on-line, which was extremely easy. I ordered a Sausage & Onion Pizza and a Small House Salad with House Dressing. I even paid for it on line and put a tip on the carry-out. When I arrived, instead of going inside, I decided to try the Drive-Thru Pick-up. They have designated lanes to take you to the back of the restaurant. That's where you'll see associates running back-n-forth from the kitchen to cars delivering the pizzas. Once it was my turn, the young lady asked my name and went into retrieve my order. When she brought it out, she had me sign the credit card slip. To my surprise, it had an additional space for another tip. I don't think so, I left it blank. I already tipped when I ordered on-line. My salad and pizza hit the spot. My pizza was still a good temperature for eating after the 15 minute drive home. I love their cheese. read more

I hate to be the oddball... but Roma's is just not great to me. It's a very popular spot that everyone around me raves about but I truly don't understand why. I have tried it on several different occasions and it just doesn't blow my mind. The bread is questionable... the pasta doesn't have much of a taste and the ranch is weird. If you love Romas good for you but I myself consider almost any other pizza place better than Romas. read more

Their pizza is very good. The in restaurant service is excellent. This place is a staple in the area. Money complaint is that (IMO) their pizza is so much better fresh than cold or reheated. There is a drastic difference as opposed to lesser pizza places where the fresh pizza is not as good, but the leftovers are as good as the fresh. Went to Roma's in the early afternoon for a friend's birthday party. The atmosphere gives anyone inside the feeling of being inside an authentic Italian restaurant. There's many cool pictures inside that show vintage pizza-making photos. The server was very polite and quick to attend to anything we needed. The inside was clean and well-kept. Plenty of seating. Pizza was out in less than 30 minutes. The pizza was delicious. The sauce has more of a meaty flavor. Our group got the 2 large two-topping pizzas on special. My favorite of the two was the sausage and bacon pizza. The Parmesan and pepper flakes on the table were nice additions. read more

Roma Pizza is simply the best. Family owned and many family work there as many other staff who have worked there for years. Great food and a wonderful variety.......not just pizza but lots of other delicious offerings. Staff is always super friendly and the drive-up for pick up is so nice. I am disabled and use a walker so coming in to pick up an order is a bit harder for me!! Only down side is that eating in has somewhat poor sound issue.........lots of happy people eating and chatting and it can get quite loud at times. But that is OK when yhou have great food! read more

This is the best pizza hands down. My family and I have been going here for as long as I can remember as parts of my family live in southern Illinois. Birthdays, weekend visits, celebration, and just an exceptional dinner we're all reasons we would go. As we frequent our Illinois family less, we find ourselves driving an hour just to go and eat here. Beyond their pizza, the pastas, salads, and cheese breads are also good, nothing special but certainly not bad. We've never had a problem with service, our food always comes out within reason and we've never found any workers to be unpleasant. It's a simplistic family restaurant with not much to complaint about. The bathrooms could use an update. That's my only complaint though. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Took our granddaughter out for dinner, her pick. We've been coming here for pizza since they opened. Frank says that February 20th they will have 50 years of making the best pizza. The place was bustling with activity when we arrived on a Saturday evening in January. We were seated in a small booth in a very large room by a friendly hostess. We told the server it was our first time and she did a fine job explaining the menu and popular items. We ordered an appetizer of Bosco sticks. They were still a little cold inside towards the middle. They could use a little more time in the oven since they're cooked from frozen. They were a bit dry too. Perhaps a pass with some melted garlic butter would've improved them. For dinner, we each ordered our own medium pizzas. His with 2 toppings and a regular amount of sauce. Mine with 2 toppings, extra cheese, and very light sauce. Both pizzas came out together and the ingredients were quite fresh and of high quality - especially the mozzarella cheese (not the poor excuse locals seem to enjoy called "provel"). The pies were hot and fresh, and the toppings more than ample. Our special request (light sauce) was honored to a T. If I had a complaint, the crust was quite tough and dense. We had trouble cutting through it with a knife while it was too hot to pick up. Once it had cooled enough, we were able to pick up each slice. I had to add salt to my pizza to give it a little flavor. This was likely due to my request to have very light sauce, and choosing hamburger as a topping rather than sausage (which doesn't agree with me). They only offered Italian sausage, and I would've ordered regular pork sausage had it been an option. We were directed to the counter to pay, which seemed odd for a restaurant with table service. But it wasn't a bother. We had a clear view of the kitchen from the counter, and we noticed it was clean as a whistle - especially for a busy Saturday night. The restrooms were very clean as well. The prices were a bit high, but given the quality of the ingredients, it wasn't too bad. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area. read more

I have heard good things about this place so my son and I went to check it out. We were seated quickly and took a look at the menu. Wow super high priced for pizza. We could not find anything that looked decent and under 45 bucks for two people so we asked the server about any specials. She said there really were none except what was on the menu already. I do not do this often at all but we walked out. I am not spending 50 for two people for pizza. Even the chef salad was 17 bucks. This is not a hometown place it's a money grab. read more

Still great pizza I great up in Bethalto and first came to love a supreme-style pizza, with onions and peppers and more on top, because of Roma's great Roma's pizza. Thanksgiving week we were able to get away from work long enough one day to enjoy a drive along the Great River Road north of Alton, to see the Piasa Bird, Pere Marquette Park, Grafton and more. And the plan was pizza for lunch. We ordered on the phone and it was ready when we arrived. We stepped inside to use the restroom and enjoyed the wonderful, wonderful, wonderful smells... just like the kitchen smelled growing up. We enjoyed the lunch specials - salad, pizza and soda. The kids enjoyed pepperoni and sausage; Roma's special for my wonderful wife and me... hers on a gluten-free crust which she really liked. We returned for two more pizzas for leftovers the next day and they tasted good both reheated in the oven and straight from the refrigerator. Roma's never fails. Their pizza is always good. During the lockdown their dining room isn't open, but you can phone in an order and pick it up. They come to your vehicle and bring your order to you. The evening that I recently ordered Roma's there were several of us getting together and we ordered 7 pizzas. They were piping hot when they brought them out, the staff on the phone and "car-hopping" were polite, courteous, and professional. My review is only for a takeout order, but I will say I was impressed by the venue. The parking lot had plenty of spaces, the dining room was well lit and looked clean, and, from what I could see of the staff, everyone appeared busy but not overanxious or hurried. I was greeted promptly, the pizza was ready, and the salad was quickly put together for the road. You can see the food in my photos. LARGE PIZZA: I liked the crust, sauce, and toppings; the mozzarella was laid on thick. I think the flavors were even better when I warmed up the leftovers the next day. LARGE SALAD: Mainly iceberg lettuce and lots of grated mozzarella, perhaps the most I've ever had on a salad. The large size seemed enough for four, and probably plenty for almost any two hearty eaters. I like iceberg and mozzarella, but thought there could have been double the sliced black olives. The only other things on the salad were two tough wedges of a pinkish-but-not-ripe tomato. These days, good tomatoes in winter aren't that hard too find. Hey Roma's, how about adding some diced vine-ripened tomatoes? Or halved grape tomatoes? They would add a lot of flavor and visual appeal and not that much cost to an $8.00 salad, especially if you cut the amount of cheese in half. Roma's has the feeling of a good hometown restaurant, and I'd return without hesitation. read more

IMPORTANT TIP: Get garlic POWDER cooked on your pizza. It's not overpowering. Five stars all day long. This is the best pizza I've ever had. I have been going to Roma's since it used to be a few checkered tables and you ate on paper plates with grandma Roma bringing it out to your table. You got your soda from and off-brand soda can machine. Since then, the original building expanded and years later moved into a modernized large scale version of a true pizza parlor. Pitchers of beer are cold. Food prices are reasonable. Sausage is the best I've ever had. Be ready for a ton of cheese and sweet sauce. read more
