Had an impromptu lunch with family at the Pantera's in Edwardsville. Always loved Pantera's as it was my favorite pizza place as a teen. The pizza was just as good as I remember. Reasonable priced and they offer a small but satisfying salad bar. All 4 of us ate - salad bar, pizza and wings for $50 and left with leftovers. The best part is they offer an all you can eat salad and pizza bar on weekdays. Plenty of seating with large tables for a family gathering or pizza party.

Stellar 90's throwback buffet style pizza. The buffet is $10 a person, $13 if you add a drink. Theres a salad bar, pizza bar & of course breadsticks and desserts (dessert pizza, cinnamon sugar breadsticks). Every time I've been they keep the hot, fresh pizzas coming! It's an outdated place but gives all the 90s feels. For a $10 fresh buffet can't beat it!

The hubby and I happened to be near Edwardsville IL and decided to see if this Pantera's was near what we remembered from our childhood... they did not disappoint! We tried another location that was nothing like the original. Upon the first bite we were transported back to our childhood! It tastes exactly as we remembered, crispy, hot, delicious! Thank you for continuing the Pantera's tradition :) We'll be back!

This week we traveled to Edwardsville, Illinois for Pantera's Pizza Buffet. I grew up eating Pantera's in the 80's and it was "Thee" place to eat and hang out in the Metro East. There were over 100 locations in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area at one time. My favorite pizza was "The Hunk". You can still order it at the Edwardsville location (one of maybe three locations left). We enjoyed the salad bar, the different pizzas, garlic bread, and dessert pizza they had on the buffet. Customer Service was great! They kept up with the demand and the pizza kept coming out hot, tasty, and fresh. They were constantly cleaning tables and picking up dirty plates. If you are Generation Z and from the St. Louis area, stop by Pantera's and take a walk down memory lane. #thursdaypizzaseries  #stlmetrofoodie

I still love Pantera in Edwardsville! When we lived there and my daughter was small, we used to walk over and have pizza buffet on hot summer days when I didn't feel like cooking. Good news! Twenty years later and they still have delicious salad bar and pizza at a good value. Panteras pizza has a unique taste and crust that I just love. The crust is kind of a mix between a hand tossed and a pretzel crust. It was a bit salty, as we ordered the Big Hunk that has many types of meat along with olives and other salty toppings, but their salad bar is crisp, fresh and yummy, which offsets the sodium. The interior of the business could use a makeover and new carpet, but really nothing is too much to ever keep me from coming in.

Garlic bread was very good. Pizza was very tasty. Soft bread on both the pizza and garlic bread. Small size Hunk was filling for 2!

I remember eating at this place years and years ago in my hometown. That place has long been closed for many years and have been wanting to try this place for quite some time. I looked up the menu on the Internet and saw that there was a salad, pizza and pasta buffet from 5-8 pm mid week. We made plans and stopped in. The pizza was as good as I remember. I like the way the crust is a little "toothy" or sort of al dente, which is unique to the other types of pizzas I've had. I am really a thin crust fan, but usually if you get anything but thin crust, the crust is typically dry and bread like, but not here. The place could use a little bit of a remodel perhaps, but the food was hot and fresh and the salad bar, Although it's pretty basic, had some decent choices. I was disappointed about the pasta, because when we visited the restaurant was fairly empty and it was before typical dinner time (about 5:30 PM because it got quite a bit more foot traffic as we were finishing up). There was only about enough spaghetti noodles to cover about a half of a Small plate. I never did see them bring any more out while I was there, so I'm not sure what that was about. I would like to have rated four stars, but It just didn't earn it.

Hubby and I back out for our Covid first date.

The girls weren't thrilled about eating pizza, but boy, did they change their minds! We started with the pretzel rolls and the goat cheese and pita chips for starters. So so so good! The, we ordered three different pizzas and a calzone. The bourbon and chicken pizza, the potato pizza, and the spicy pepperoni, sausage and bacon pizza, as well as a bacon and tomato calzone. Absolutely delicious! Everybody had pieces of each pizza, and everyone was sated and, frankly, STUFFED! My granddaughters, ages 11 and 14, who can't agree on ANYTHING, told me that whenever they come to visit, I have to take them to Peel! Oh, and our server, whose name I can't recall (sometimer's disease) was super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. A fantastic experience!!.

When I saw they had hot honey and pepperoni paired together on a 8" pizza, I instantly knew that was one of my choices. The fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheeses paired with the hot honey and pepperoni exploded with flavor. My only disappointment was the inner crust. The outer rim crust was very crispy, but the inner was soft and limp due to the excessive grease from the flavorful pepperoni. I guess that is something I just need to deal with for a tasty lunch pizza. My other choice was, the Apple Gorgonzola Salad. Wow. Double Wow! This has to be the best salad I have ever had. It was a delightful mix of, spinach, granny smith apple, gorgonzola, sun-dried cranberries, candied pecans, all topped with a delicious maple cider vinaigrette. I will be back for the large version and a glass of Pino Grigio as a dinner. As my usual, I sat at the bar. My adult beverage of choice, was a Peel Summer Lager. I may be going back to fill my growler, for the upcoming holiday weekend. The restaurant has a contemporary feel, but the acoustics make it a loud environment. I didn't mind the laughter and loud conversations, it was the yelling and crying toddlers that made me cringe. Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed watching the bartenders use their mixologist skills preparing all the cocktails. It pleased me to see they offer "hooks under the bar". That's a small detail that makes me smile.

It was after 1 pm and there were only 2 slices of cheese pizza in the case. The person at the counter said there were more pizzas in the oven and they would be up soon. It was worth the wait. The pepperoni pizza was hot and delicious even after traveling the 25 min. home. I told me wife about the deal and the experience..both being positive. Then, on two separate occasions, we went out of our way, while traveling, only to be disappointed because the deal is from 11 to 3:00. Today's experience...we arrived at 1:50 pm. We were excited because we were finally going to get the $5 deal. We went in the door and there was 1 slice of cheese pizza. I asked if more pizza was coming out. The gal behind the counter said no because it was a slow day and the pizza would go to waste. ( The lunch special was supposed to be valid for another 70 min. Any other restaurant will try to accomodate their patrons for lunch special up to and including 2:59.) There's counter person was not concerned about disappointing customers or even trying to show some empathy. We asked about ordering a pizza..."for here or to go"...."here"..."you have to order that in dining room". We discussed it while sitting and both felt that the person at the front counter need some customer relation training. Another person was working the dining area. She was very friendly. We placed our order for a 14" Classic Combo. It was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Our opinion, as we discussed it at length, is Rosati's has the best thin crust of all the pizza places we've eaten. Their sauce is a little tomato forward. They seem to care about the amount of toppings on the pizza. We did feel that the pie was light on the sausage. There was an ample amount of the other toppings including pepperoni. We noted the pepperoni tasted closer to bacon than the classic savory pepperoni flavor. And there was plenty of melty stringing cheese!!. I am really getting discouraged at the amount of money restaurants are charging for soft drinks. A 20oz soft drink costs the restaurant 5 to 15 cents for syrup and CO² and they charge the customer $3.75 to, in Rosati's cases $4.00. Ambiance...it's large and uses cold materials. Looks like a semi sports bar. Prices...on the higher end for pizza Wait staff...hit or miss... one good-one not so much. Food quality...(pizza) very good Lunch special...if you can get it, it's a great deal. The all important!! The left-over pizza is very good, cold straight from the refrigerator
