My review is only for a takeout order, but I will say I was impressed by the venue. The parking lot had plenty of spaces, the dining room was well lit and looked clean, and, from what I could see of the staff, everyone appeared busy but not overanxious or hurried. I was greeted promptly, the pizza was ready, and the salad was quickly put together for the road. You can see the food in my photos. LARGE PIZZA: I liked the crust, sauce, and toppings; the mozzarella was laid on thick. I think the flavors were even better when I warmed up the leftovers the next day. LARGE SALAD: Mainly iceberg lettuce and lots of grated mozzarella, perhaps the most I've ever had on a salad. The large size seemed enough for four, and probably plenty for almost any two hearty eaters. I like iceberg and mozzarella, but thought there could have been double the sliced black olives. The only other things on the salad were two tough wedges of a pinkish-but-not-ripe tomato. These days, good tomatoes in winter aren't that hard too find. Hey Roma's, how about adding some diced vine-ripened tomatoes? Or halved grape tomatoes? They would add a lot of flavor and visual appeal and not that much cost to an $8.00 salad, especially if you cut the amount of cheese in half. Roma's has the feeling of a good hometown restaurant, and I'd return without hesitation. read more

Fast delivery, great tasting pizza! A little skimpy on toppings, but not so much that I won't order from them again. Will just order more topping next time. A great family pizza place to go to. One of the best around. We ordered the Large all meat pizza. Keep that in mind. With a medium cheese. Along with Garlic bread. Right when we walked in they greeted us as we sat down. But when we got our food they gave us a Medium All meat along with the cheese. But we didn't even half to point it out until they told us. Located in Bethalto, Illinois this restaurant specializes in Italian dishes and pizza. Upon arriving we were quickly greeted and offered a choice of a table or booth by a very polite hostess. We had a little bit of a wait before a waitress finally made it our way, but she was polite and well trained. After ordering we received our drinks and eventually only one meal as the pizza was cooking. Order a veggie pizza expecting to have a wonderful tasteful pizza, instead I got a extremely bland pizza with NO SAUCE , when we went to complain to the OWNER he made excuses saying that's how it always is and that the cheese absorbes the sauce which I've never heard of, everyone recommended this place but I would never recommend nor come back, the owner was rude and absolutely could not care less when we complained. The price that they charge for pizza does not warrant them not allowing different toppings on the pizza. We wanted to get the two large two topping pizza special. We wanted to get pepperoni and hamburger on one half and mushroom and bacon on the other half of one of the pizzas. We were notified that configuration would be counted as four toppings. I don't understand how hard it would be for the cooks to make this configuration. It is very disappointing because the pizza is good, but it makes someone in our group not get to eat their favorite pizza without paying extra for extra toppings, or buying an additional pizza, which is not affordable. We ended up getting water also because of the prices. read more

I have enjoyed Roma's Pizza since I was a little kid. From both their old location and their new location Roma's has been the top pizza around. The drinks served in tall glasses filled with ice is perfect for a good evening. The pizza is thin crust and probably the best you will find anywhere hands down. They have a vast menu of different types of Italian food. In the case of Roma's the families roots are from Italy and it is truly made the Italian way. When in the restaurant the place napkins have some history of the business on them and unique items hanging throughout the establishment. It is a must visit place anytime you are hungry and in the area. read more

Someone told me this was the best pizza in Bethalto. They were totally right! Service was quick, and drinks for kept full. The pizza was definitely above standard, and came out hot and melty. I had an anchovy pizza and a pepperoni pizza. They had a ton of great toppings to choose from. Salad was a little less than what I expected, but still tasty. If I'm ever in Bethalto again, I'll gladly eat here! Keep it up! read more

Dining room was nearly full and there was a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up the or pizzas. After ordering, we waited nearly 25 minutes for our pizza. Now that all these delivery devices shave popped up, we're able to have it delivered to Godfrey. Which is WAAAY easier than packing up a family of six and driving out there. If I were only rating the pizza (and I mainly get take out), I'd go 5 stars. If you throw in the restaurant, I have to drop to 4 stars because the place is usually very messy - a testament to how busy they are. Roma's has been around for quite awhile (close to 40 years?) and the family is true Sicilian. This is authentic pizza. Great crust, nice sauce, good toppings. I get a hankering for a Roma's pizza (and there are several fine pizzerias closer to me) about once a month and make the drive. Two stars because 2.5 is not an option. I have lived in St Louis metro long enough to not expect much from pizza or local pizza reviewers (you can't expect someone who has never seen the sun to review a sunset). I do however give credit to any place locally who does not serve the dogshit fake cheese by the name of provel that the same aforementioned reviewers have been brainwashed into believing is actually an acceptable topping. Best pizza in Madison County! Been going here for years. I love the sweeter sauce they use. We get shrimp pizza most (don't knock it til you try it!) Or the romas special. Recently tried the cauliflower crust. Can't tell! Also really enjoy their dinner salads with the house dressing. If you've never been, it's definitely worth trying! read more

I wasn't sure whether to give this one a 3 or 4 star review, so bear with me, it was tough! Roma's has a great history as it is the lone standout of the sleepy community of Bethalto. I've came here in the past a few times (at its former location), but I did go in there just recently. I had the all-meat pizza, and boy was it loaded. I can mostly taste the bacon and ham, which was fine. The crust, I wasn't sure how to judge. With most pizza places, I mostly judge by the crust for weird reasons. For some reason, it just didn't stand out with me. I asked one of the workers, 'So how would you describe your pizza?' And he was like, 'I have no idea. We're not New York, Chicago, or St. Louis. I guess, straight up Italy!'. That sounds about right! The place still looked very new and clean, and the staff was very friendly. Even the waitress was impressed I ate 90% of the pizza! read more
