Nachos that are extremely soggy.

I would not recommend. I do like the pick up window. But, soggy nachos is gross. Nope not thanks will not return.

Molcajete Azteca, tortillas, rice & beans, chips/salsa.

Recommended by my class instructor. Very nice restaurant, great staff, very friendly & great decor. Salsa was fabulous, the chips were kind of stale, but "okay." Had the Molcajete Azteca & it did not disappoint!! It came w/rice & beans & 3 tortillas.

The food was excellent! I had the Burrito Real, my friend had the Chicken Over Rice. The flavor of mine had a wonderful smoky flavor I wasn't expecting but was SO GOOD! The lunch menu is a little limited, but not too bad. The full dinner menu is huge. The server was attentive, but not smothering. Very nicely decorated, we never felt rushed, even though we sat and talked for an hour or more. We will definitely go there again soon!

New Mexican spot to hit Godfrey. Fast friendly service. New interiors. Food all hot and fresh. Good flavor on all the food we had. The queso fondido was spicy and so cheesy. Will be back soon to try some drinks and other menus items.

Sangria yum!

Food was amazing service was impressive and nice ambiance. The music was upbeat and not to loud. There was one couple there when we got there and then 30 minutes later every table was taken. I had the chicken soup which was nice on a snowy day. Their portions are not overwhelming which is great. If you have not been here I say GO ASAP!

Good food, good price, service was fast and excellent. The birria tacos were perfect, done street taco style with onion and cilantro.

Jalapeño fajitas were really good. Very spicy which I like. Salsa and "dip" with chips not that good.

Literally my favorite restaurant ever, and it's not even close. If you're in the St. Louis area,…read morethe hour long drive is worth it for the hummus alone. Or the sticky toffee pudding alone. Or the soup. Or any of the entrees. If something is on the menu, it's because it's great-- there's no "filler" options or reheated Sysco food. It's the freshest food I've ever had at a restaurant (you can tell it's farm to table/locally sourced) and I don't really know how to describe this but like... after I eat there, I feel full to the point of bursting, but not in a gross way? Like usually when I eat that much I feel kinda sick or nauseous, but that doesn't happen here. And for how high quality the food is, you'd expect a kinda stuffy environment and high price tag, but no! It's got a friendly, laid back vibe with chill (but attentive) staff. Apps are $10 and entrees are $20. They could charge twice as much and I'd still consider it a fair price. As previously mentioned, everything on the menu is amazing so follow your heart and get whatever sounds good. But I'd personally recommend the hummus, grilled bread, and soup as starters (yes, all of them) and don't even THINK about leaving without getting the sticky toffee pudding, even if you split it between a few people. It's exactly how I imagined ambrosia tasting like.

It was a Friday during Lent and I went to Delmar Public House to enjoy their Fish & Chips. Well,…read morethat didn't happen. In addition to their regular menu, DPH always has a Weekly Special Menu. Once I saw what the weekly special pasta was, I had to have it. I am a huge fan of Smoked Salmon and they did theirs in house. The pasta not only had the smoked salmon, it also had sautéed red onion, a tangy European style cream cheese sauce and cavatappi pasta with fried cappers and fresh dill. The cream sauce was perfect. It was just a light covering, enough for flavor without being overwhelming. As always, the portion was healthy, so I had leftovers for the next days lunch. I enjoyed it chilled and it was like eating a cold pasta salad. DPH always gets bonus points from me for having eco-friendly to-go vessels. My adult beverage of choice for the seafood pasta, was a glass of Pinot Gris. I prefer a Grigio, but they only had the Gris. Gris is fairly similar to Grigio. I always say, it's like a first cousin, once removed. Service is always top-notch. It doesn't matter if you are sitting at a table or the bar, you'll be treated right.

To be honest, the first two years of living in Alton I thought it was an old closed restaurant. Then when I found out it was open, some people said to avoid it, that it was a rough crowd. Now I can honestly say, I regret not going earlier. If I had, I may have been a regular. The reason I finally went was a farewell party for a friend moving to Florida. There were twelve of us and I wish I would have photographed everyone's food. It all looked delicious and most of them had been there before and others like me who were there for the first time were blown away too. The service was super friendly, I knew the server/bartender from another local restaurant that he worked. I had him coach me on what to order, since the menu had a variety of choices. He said the Mexican dishes were their most popular, but I had Mexican the previous night and did not want to repeat. I choose to go with the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. Damn, it was good. It was better than the restaurant in town that is known for its Pork Tenderloin. It was a typical pork tenderloin sandwich, the patty was huge and extended beyond the bun. The seasoning on the pork is what made it stand out over others that I have had. The fries were pretty stellar, too. They were crisp and fried to an appealing light golden color. The sandwich also came with garnishes on the side. The pork tenderloin was so good, I did not add any of the onion, lettuce or tomato. I regret not going to Don & Penny's sooner. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Next time you're out and about, stop by Don & Penny's for a cocktail and some delicious food.

Amazing. Everything homemade and service was awesome. If you are in the area stop and enjoyread more

Building was dimly lit and spacious with ample seating. Food we ordered was the shrimp 2/3/4 way with one side . Popcorn shrimp, shrimp scampi, shrimp fettuccine, grilled shrimp , baked potato, corn and biscuits were amazing. Drinks were frozen, fruity and great consistency. My only complaint was the time it took to get our meals and to go boxes and pay our bill. I think Ashley was the only server on the floor and it must have been one cook, but to make this positive as well the food did come out hot , and fresh and seasoned to perfection ! The waitress returned 03:35:36 minutes later to take our orders. After placing our orders, we waited 24:21:21 minutes before we received our food. I could have dealt with the delay had our food not been served lukewarm. I should have known by the initial contact with the hostess that this would not be a good experience. The environment was extremely noisy. We had ti listen to the guys across from us condemn poor people while the customers behind us talked about jumping a girl into their club. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Our waitress did her best but she was extremely overworked and the restaurant was understaffed.

This has always been my favorite Alton area restaurant and I have lived here over 40 years, known…read morelocally simply as "The Moonlight". From its humble beginning as a chicken shack on Fosterburg Road, this Italian family owned and run gem has grown to become the best in the area. They are most known locally for their outstanding "talk n chick" fried chicken and their fabulous Italian dishes and soups. They have a popular take out service with a separate counter and room on the south side of the building with slightly lower prices. The interior is unique with several odd-shaped dining rooms and two bars due to building expansions wrapping completely around the original chicken shack, which now is the kitchen, with a salad preparation basement room underneath. The Moonlight still has one dining room with now unused large interior front staircase that goes to the old front east entrance since the main entrance was relocated to the north side of the building where the parking lot is located. On the west (rear) side is the primary bar and a banquet room that is frequently used for local seminars and marketing presentations. Special meeting or special occasion? This is your place. Love the tortellini soup and the Italian dishes are top notch. Nice main bar and a great side room off the lobby for special gatherings. You won't go wrong if you go here.

Do you love large breast? If so you need to visit Castelli's and have their fried chicken dinner…read more The breast they serve, are the largest I have ever seen and the accompanying pieces are impressive as well. Thick meaty thighs, curvaceous legs and wings that look as if the chicken has been pumping iron at the local gym. Big pieces, crispy flavorful coating and juicy meat. I primarily do carry-out and the quality of their take out is equally as good as when dining in the restaurant. Pick-up is smooth and fast, as they have a separate entrance and room for take-out. The staff is friendly and very professional. The service has that family owned business feel. If you're a fan of Onion Rings, I recommend enjoying an order as an appetizer. Their rings are super big and made in house. I do not like onion rings that come from a bag. When ordering my sides, I like mashed potatoes with white gravy. They also offer brown gravy, if that is your thing. My other side is always green beans. They make their green beans with bacon and onion. It reminds me of my momma's. With those two sides, it is a true Sunday Chicken Dinner on any day of the week. I've been coming to Castelli's my entire life. I started coming here as a child when it was called, Moonlight. Many of the locals still call it, Moonlight and no-one will correct them, because we all know where they are talking about. Service in the carry-out room is always speedy and friendly. So if you're a fan of fried chicken, I recommend ordering on-line for a pick-up. Or, treat yourself to a night out and dine in the restaurant. Remember to order the onion rings.

They had a special grand re-opening last night, which I avoided. I knew the crowds would be insane, so I came for their first day serving lunch. I like how the ambiance is old school Italian. White linen table cloths and black linen napkins. The tables are protected it a sheet of butcher paper cut to the exact size. It protects that pretty white linen. As a centerpiece, they have tacky artificial flowers. Table would look better without it. My server was quick to greet me. I ordered a Pino Grigio as my adult beverage. When she delivered my wine, I said I needed more time to look the menu over. When she came back, I asked a couple of questions and went with the chalkboard special, Meat Cannelloni with Spinach Pink Vodka Sauce. It came with a side salad and a breadstick. I chose Bleu Cheese as my dressing. The dressing was thick, creamy and had chunks of Bleu Cheese. The lunch special had two cannelloni's filled with meat and overly covered in a rich pink vodka sauce blended with lots of sautéed spinach. The sauce had good flavor, they just over poured on top of the cannelloni. Luck for me it came with a breadstick to wipe up the extra sauce. My server was attentive. She checked on me a couple of times while I dined. Sonny the owner, was assisting servers and thanking guest for coming back. From what I have heard in the community, everyone is glad Sonny is back in charge. I think they'll be doing just fine.
