    Risotto Balls

We took a little drive North to check out a pizza place on the Pizza Passport!!! We were NOT disappointed. The Salad was one of the Best we have had... the homemade Creamy Italian dressing was superb! The Risotto Balls were Hit and Delish... The Pizza comes out in Square Form.. Pan and Piece!!! The Crust was crispy/cracker like but soooo good!!! Our Server was Awesome!!! The building is set on a corner street and the decor is cute.. plus they have a Full bar!! They sell their dressing in a 12 oz cup... Grab some to go!!!!

    Small House Salad - Carry-Out

Decaro's takes St Louis Thin Crust Pizza and kicks it up to another level. Their sauce has a spicy kick and the sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese on top of the Provel gives it a bonus of flavor. My recent lunch carry-out was a small pepperoni pizza and a small dinner salad. The pizza was done perfectly, the crust had a crispy crunch and every bite had a slice of pepperoni. Their dinner salad was simply a mix of iceberg and Romaine lettuce, with shredded provel, parmesan, tomato, onion and a pepperoncini. For my dressing, I always go with Decaro's Creamy Italian. It's extra thick and mixes well with the salad greens. Dining in or picking up a carry-out, the staff is professional and friendly. I pass three pizza joints when I come for a carry-out and I can easily say it is worth the extra miles for a quality thin crust pizza.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. Fox2 news had a special coupon where you spend $25.00 and get $50.00 worth of food. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try. I went today I ordered a half cheese half sausage and pepperoni over the phone. However when I arrive for pickup it was half sausage half cheese, no biggie. I also ordered a small house salad with the house dressing. Everything was pretty good, the tangy pizza sauce grew on me. Wasn't sure what to make of it at first. My 5 year old approved also. Salad was very delicious as well as the house dressing. Good customer service, good deal. Family style restaurant, plenty of seating.

This place is a great option for a quality, low-cost dinner out in Alton. Thanks to Yelp, I convinced my mother in law to try out this new spot and we weren't disappointed. Parking is plentiful, the inside is spacious and can accommodate groups of 2 to 20, service is extremely attentive, and the prices are insanely decent. My sizable serving of Chicken Parm was only $12 and I was stuffed by the time I finished. I would describe the food quality as your mother's home cooking; certainly not upscale, but comforting and delicious. Will definitely return for another family dinner sometime.

This is what you get when you order the Decaros italian sub. Dominoes does a better job. I actually cannot deal. One of the weakest subs I've ever had. Thank you for the one slice of tomato for two subs btw!

I'm always searching for new pizza places locally as well as when I travel. I've seen Decaro's before but could never catch them open. They crossed my mind last night so I decided to order a pizza and chicken salad to go. I'm glad I did. The salad was amazing with plenty of chicken. The pizza was great as well. I like St. Louis style pizza which this is! The service was great! Everyone smiled and was courteous. I'll definitely go back.

I so so wanted my experience to be good at Decaro's. I live just blocks away and I so want to support my local businesses. But they blew it big time. Sorry but I'll never bother with them again. I went down just after work on Friday night. I told the teen worker that I wanted to do carry out. I ordered an Italian sub and an Italian beef sandwich. I was very excited to taste their Italian beef as it was my favorite from my time living in Chicago. I ordered it "hot" which means to have the hot giardiniara on it. ( the other is sweet peppers ) The young hostess then informed me it was going to be 40 minutes. I was a little taken aback but I thought I could walk about town for a while. I returned and got my food 40 minutes later and walked home. My wife's Italian sub had exactly one tomato slice on it and was mostly bread. Subway puts more on a sandwich. But my Italian beef angered me so much I almost walked it back. It was a roast beef sandwich. With obviously grocery store roast beef. No giardiniara No beef that's been simmering in Italian seasoned jus all day. It was STORE BOUGHT ROAST BEEF! IT WAS NOT ITALIAN BEEF and it even had a little cup of au jus! THATS ROAST BEEF PEOPLE NOT ITALIAN BEEF!! They didn't even follow their own menu. AND THEY MADE ME WAIT 40 MINUTES FOR THE WRONG THING! I don't know about you but that is an absolutely unacceptable mistake. I so wanted it to be my local Italian spot. I could see myself going there a lot. It's 2 blocks away. Nope. They don't get a second chance. The dog liked it just fine though.

After my flavorful Italian Sausage and Jalapeños pizza today, I will call Joe before a national chain. It was National Mom and Pop Business Day and my local Joe's posted a picture of their owners on Facebook and it prompted me to order. So I got on their website and ordered my favorite, Sausage & Jalapeño Small Thin Crust Pizza. When I order pizza from any pizza joint, I always add special instructions. I am not a fan of "square" cut and request mine to be cut "pie", the traditional way to serve pizza. My Italian Sausage was spicy, the sauce had zing to it and there was plenty of jalapeños. The jalapeños even had some crunch to them, which tells me, they were fresh. Then of course, the mozzarella cheese was plentiful on top of everything. The website was user friendly and when I arrived, the young ladies working the front counter were friendly and polite. Good pizza and friendly service will have me ordering pick-up again. Sure I can have them deliver, but I don't mind the short drive to pick it up myself. Support your local mom and pop businesses.

I walked in 20 minutes after placing my order but at peak hour they told me 15 more so I read a book until called to grab my fresh hot pie. I absconded with my prize to my hotel. I love St Louis style pizza. You can't find Provel anywhere near where I live in the PNW. This one has a really nice thin crust with plenty of mushrooms. I thought their sauce was a little on the sweet side. Not my favorite so far. I also came back with my coworker because he wanted a taste of St. Louis on his short stay, but he wasn't impressed either. I picked up some mushroom spaghetti on my next stop but that was also far too sweet and just okay. Sadly, for some reason pizza places seem to be closed on Sundays and Mondays which are the main days I'm in town this week for work, so I guess it's this place or Imo's this time, but I'll plan to go during Faraci's open hours next time.

It was as if we weren't there The restaurant wasn't busy--only 2 2-topa small tables and one larger group that left as we went to sit down --yet the two servers nor the host on duty stopped at our table, offered drinks, plates, or even made eye contact. Other tables received normal service while we were completely ignored. We eventually asked the sweet employee at the pickup window for water and napkins, and she was the only person who helped us the entire time. Thankfully the food was good but the service was extremely disappointing; aside from the carryout window staff. I have been to this location many times over the years and a handful of times at the St. Peters location. I expected a lot better from this family-owned pizzeria. This felt like an avoidable customer-service miss.

The hostess was very friendly in greeting us. We had reservations and were seated right away. As we were looking at the various menus, our waiter, Chad, approached our table singing Anniversary by Tony! Toni! Toné! It was surprising but we got a kick out of it. He was a great waiter and was very knowledgeable about the menu and his suggestions were on point. Chad gave so much attention to all of his tables and went out of his way to make it a great experience for everyone. For drinks, my husband ordered the Old Fashioned and I ordered the New York Sour. I'm a big fan of New York Sours and that was probably the best one I've ever had. Upon Chad's suggestion, we ordered the Royal Red Shrimp appetizer. It was delicious, especially soaking the bread in the amazing butter sauce. We both chose the house salad with their house dressing, which was really good. For entrées, my husband ordered the surf and turf (he chose the ribeye) and I ordered the Jumbo Sea Scallops with Lobster Risotto. He says his ribeye was cooked to perfection with a really nice butter sauce. The shrimp were really good but the scallops and Risotto were just ok. Overall, he felt it was a good dish. I have to agree about the scallops. They could have been seared better and on both sides. The Lobster Risotto was just ok. I probably would have appreciated it more if it actually had lobster in it. It took a little longer for us to get our entrees, and they were not as hot as I would have liked. We also were there during happy hour, which is daily. We ordered a bottle of wine for a great price. Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to trying new things in the future.
