As my usual, dining a lone so I sat at the bar. I started out with a, Dirty Martini. I kinda knew I was going to order the NY Strip, but I still took a moment and looked over the menu. I mainly was studying what sides were available. I ordered my steak, medium rare and the kitchen nailed it. Typically I order a side house salad when eating at CHT, but tonight I paid an up-charge and enjoyed their Brussels Sprouts. My second side was a huge Baked Potato. It was so big, I took half of it home and had American Fries with my breakfast. For $22, it was a delicious meal. Being a busy Saturday night, the bartender did a good job taking care of the servers and guest sitting at the bar. However, two other tables were seated after us, and they were greeted immediately by their waitresses, given drink orders, and even asked for their food orders before anyone ever acknowledged us. Our experience was very different. The staff clearly saw our table, yet no one came over to greet us or even say, "I'll be right with you," for about 10 minutes. I finally had to raise my hand to get the attention of the young lady who seated us. Only then did someone come over to take our drink and food order. Customer service is very important to us, especially since I work in that field. In my opinion, if you don't want to be there, it shows--and unfortunately, that kind of service hurts the business. Since I had at the appetizer, I order my entree from the lunch menu so the portion was smaller. For my spice level, I chose medium and it provided just the right amount of heat. It was plenty of food, I brought 2 of the Rangoon's home and a third of the Drunken Noodles. I thought this Thai food was better than my go Thai restaurant when I lived in STL.
