Apple fritter
Mari B.

Super lovely staff and delicious donuts! I found them via TikTok, and saw they make special donuts on Fridays. I went on a Thursday but they were announcing a Tiramisu donut for that week. The apple fritter was so crispy and soft in the inside, that was a 10/10. They do open at 5am so if you plan to visit, know that by 9am they had few options left. I also had their egg and cheese croissant which was super hot and the egg was fluffy. They also offer additional seasonings and sauces if you want to add black pepper, salt, or spicy sauces. This was a nice complimentary offer. I do have to go on a Friday to try a specialty donut though.

A great neighborhood donut shop! They have lots of sandwich options and they bring everything out very fast. They do run out of donuts pretty early so I suggest coming early if you want to see all their donut options. The owners are also sweet and it's nice chatting with them in the morning!

Literally fell in love with my first bite! You can taste the freshness and love with each donut! They also have so many croissants sandwiches and Vietnamese Iced Coffee! Owner and staff were so nice and sweet making my first time experience even better! They have a good amount of seating and made me and my kids feel comfortable and at home! Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back!

Generous sandwiches and good coffee. I prefer these mom & pop places over corporate franchises.

I forgot to take a picture of the garlic sriracha wings, but they were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sweet and spicy. We also ordered the chicken larb, the short rib massaman curry, and the Tamarind Tara cocktail. Everything was delicious, and the cocktail was a great complement to the meal. The standout dish is the short rib massaman curry. The moment we took our first bite, we both looked at each other because it was that good! The short rib was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. The curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it easily became the favorite dish of the night. Overall, we had a great experience with delicious food, great service, and a fun atmosphere for celebrating. I loved it so much that I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

The restaurant itself is small and cute, but my mom and I were seated right away at around noonish on Sunday! That might have been because everyone was busy at world cup parties, though. We ordered: - thai iced teas - the khao hom waffle - samosas - roti with curry dip - koong karee The thai teas were unfortunately on the milky side, and weren't very strong tasting. I recommend the lychee iced tea instead! When I used to go, I always got the thai tea pancake but they have since removed it from their menu. Although this was a pretty devastating revelation, I went with their waffle instead. I thought that the waffle still super delicious, and I loved that it had coconut meat cooked into the batter. It comes garnished with fruit and coconut flakes, which was a plus. While I thought it was a delicious choice, I do not think it was a proper replacement for my thai tea pancake. The samosas and roti were both so delicious, flavorful, and savory. The portions aren't huge, but the flavors make up for it. The koong karee was the star of the show! The prawns were so well cooked, and came in the most delicious egg & curry sauce. I loved the vegetables that came in the dish, as well. You can't go wrong with the tiger prawns, and they go so well with some jasmine rice on the side. Overall, we keep coming back for good reason! The food is always so yummy, and I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. I hope they take this review as a plea for them to bring the thai tea pancake back, though! It was that good. Regardless, I will be back!

I think it was a bit overpriced for what it was, but I would still prefer to support a local business than a chain restaurant.

I asked the cashier if it was a good choice and she recommended it. I was a little unsure how the two would blend and how much orange they would use in it, but it came out amazing! Honestly probably one of the top 10 unique mocha's I have tried and it was delicious! I loved the burst of refreshing orange that complimented the chocolate. The flavors danced on my tastebuds like two separate flavors that blended together as one. Each holding their own note that added value to the drink making it unique. I was instantly impressed and wish I found this on more menus! A classic mocha with a refreshing twist of orange was a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad I stopped in for a pick me up! I also loved all the art on the large walls and there looked to be plenty of tables and seating for people to eat and work at.

The wait to order wasn't too long, maybe 15 minutes? While you wait, you pass by a display of cookies and they even have samples out for everyone to try. The staff was very nice, even though they were super busy! We tried: - Free chips & salsa: These are a must everytime I visit denica's. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option. He thought that it could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still satisfied with his meal! 7.5/10 - The side of hash browns: These were good, as to be expected! The portion was a bit small in comparison to other diners in the area. 7.5/10 Overall, I always enjoy my experiences at denica's! The vibes are always there, and they are such a convenient place to grab breakfast or brunch.

My partner ordered the French toast special with bacon, eggs, and toast, while I ordered the veggie scramble with hash browns and toast. While my partner did not like the French toast, because it was too eggy and not fluffy, I really enjoyed the veggie scramble. There were so many fresh veggies in the scramble that went well together such as avocado, olives, onions, bell peppers, etc. It was very delicious with the cheese and fresh salsa. A staffer said that their fresh salsa was the best, and we agreed -- it had a lot of flavor and went well with the eggs. My hash browns were also perfectly crispy, which was nice. The ambiance of this place is definitely more of a cafe vibe, and they get really busy so we don't get a whole ton of attention from staff. But overall, I would go back just for the veggie scramble. The menu is big and caters to an American diner type of taste; eggs, sandwiches, burgers and similar fare. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food came out at a reasonable time. They're quick to accommodate dietary needs and preferences as well. The food itself was only alright. I ordered one of their specials, the Petrale Sole, and it was under seasoned and a bit too oily for my tastes. It also comes with your choice of soup or salad, along with a separate dinner side (rice, spaghetti, some form of potato, etc.) as well. All of these were also just okay. The pricing is reflective of the plethora of sides, which I personally dislike, as I would prefer lower pricing with no sides if given the option. Overall, this does feel like classic American diner fare, which has never really been my cuisine of choice. It's not bad, by any means, but it doesn't stand out to me.
