    Apple fritter
    Mari B.

Super lovely staff and delicious donuts! I found them via TikTok, and saw they make special donuts on Fridays. I went on a Thursday but they were announcing a Tiramisu donut for that week. The apple fritter was so crispy and soft in the inside, that was a 10/10. They do open at 5am so if you plan to visit, know that by 9am they had few options left. I also had their egg and cheese croissant which was super hot and the egg was fluffy. They also offer additional seasonings and sauces if you want to add black pepper, salt, or spicy sauces. This was a nice complimentary offer. I do have to go on a Friday to try a specialty donut though.

A great neighborhood donut shop! They have lots of sandwich options and they bring everything out very fast. They do run out of donuts pretty early so I suggest coming early if you want to see all their donut options. The owners are also sweet and it's nice chatting with them in the morning!

Literally fell in love with my first bite! You can taste the freshness and love with each donut! They also have so many croissants sandwiches and Vietnamese Iced Coffee! Owner and staff were so nice and sweet making my first time experience even better! They have a good amount of seating and made me and my kids feel comfortable and at home! Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back!

    Special Valentine's Day 2024 donuts!

Generous sandwiches and good coffee. I prefer these mom & pop places over corporate franchises.

We each got the salmon bagel, tea, and a latte, then found a table on their cozy and beautiful back patio. The drinks came out in beautifully painted drink ware. This place was such a nice spot to catch up and chit chat over good food. The servers were super friendly and helpful, and we never once felt rushed to leave or vacate our table. The noise level was just right, too. You would think being on A St would mean we'd hear cars the entire time and would have to talk over other tables, but everyone was respectful of each other and my friend and I could hear one another speaking just fine. === Incredible coffee and food. Great vibes ===…read more First, awesome experience. Second, I hate that I keep finding these experiences an HOUR away from where I live. Was meeting up with a friend from Berkeley and he found this spot in between the both of us. Pros and cons! + The coffee - holy shit. Got a cortado. And drank it without sugar it was so good. A touch of bitter (it's coffee - duh!) but so smooth, almost nutty but buttery at the same time. + Got a chicken salad sandwich. It came stacked HIGH with hints of sweetness and curry. Freshest produce. Honestly, I was hungry but could only eat half of it, it was so big. + Friend got a warmed cinnamon bun. Incredible. Yeasty, chewy almost crisp on the outside but pillowy soft on the inside. + Wide open space inside -- high ceilings, one big central area. Not tucked away spaces -- which might or might not match your preference. + Perfect amount of coffeehouse buzz. Music playing lowish in the background and lots of conversations. Just enough to quell my ADHD tendencies. * Honestly can't think of any negatives. Prices are a bit high but happy to pay it for such a quality experience. I think my cortado was decently priced -- maybe $6 or so? Sandwich was $18 or so but done really well and came with a bowl of soup (chips, fruit, and something else was an option instead of soup, but tomato bisque with a sandwich? Divine.) - An hour away from where I live but if you live anywhere East Bay, my curse is your blessing ;-)

Unfortunately, our order was incorrect, the peppermint was missing from the matcha, and the drinks weren't properly mixed, so the matcha had separated. The biscuits were also a letdown. They tasted like they had been microwaved and became hard within minutes. We were also given chive butter with jam, which was a confusing pairing and didn't make much sense. On top of that, it was uncomfortably hot inside the coffeehouse. It was overcrowded and felt more like an oven than a place to relax with coffee.

My partner ordered the French toast special with bacon, eggs, and toast, while I ordered the veggie scramble with hash browns and toast. While my partner did not like the French toast, because it was too eggy and not fluffy, I really enjoyed the veggie scramble. There were so many fresh veggies in the scramble that went well together such as avocado, olives, onions, bell peppers, etc. It was very delicious with the cheese and fresh salsa. A staffer said that their fresh salsa was the best, and we agreed -- it had a lot of flavor and went well with the eggs. My hash browns were also perfectly crispy, which was nice. The ambiance of this place is definitely more of a cafe vibe, and they get really busy so we don't get a whole ton of attention from staff. But overall, I would go back just for the veggie scramble. It's a perfect high-protein dish, and very delicious!

Sat down and was promptly greeted and ordered quickly and the price was very fair. So now to the food which was very underwhelming as you can see by the pictures. The pancakes were very rubbery and didn't have good flavor and maybe the flour mix they are using is not good quality. The eggs and hash browns were good but no presentation and no care or concern. The ambiance was as your hometown diner and very laid back which was very cool. However, I came for the food and not so much the rest and reason for my 2 stars. I wish I could rate it better but just couldn't do it. I don't want to steer others wrong. Hopefully they talk with the cook and go better going forward.

This place is huge and very busy, but they clearly have their process down because everything came out efficiently and exactly as ordered for everyone in our party -- which is impressive for such a large table. I had a side salad, a virgin Bloody Mary, and the ham, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich. My husband ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, and we shared a strawberry-topped pancake. Everything we tried was delicious and the drinks were great too. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the long wait to be seated, but honestly it's worthy of the wait. Once you're in, the service moves quickly and smoothly. The menu is big and caters to an American diner type of taste; eggs, sandwiches, burgers and similar fare. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food came out at a reasonable time. They're quick to accommodate dietary needs and preferences as well. The food itself was only alright. I ordered one of their specials, the Petrale Sole, and it was under seasoned and a bit too oily for my tastes. It also comes with your choice of soup or salad, along with a separate dinner side (rice, spaghetti, some form of potato, etc.) as well. All of these were also just okay. The pricing is reflective of the plethora of sides, which I personally dislike, as I would prefer lower pricing with no sides if given the option. Overall, this does feel like classic American diner fare, which has never really been my cuisine of choice. It's not bad, by any means, but it doesn't stand out to me.
