I saw Brian yesterday for a 5 hour session for a Jellyfish/Man-o-war forearm piece. Brian is awesome and so is his work. He was so personable and we talked of many things. I had brought my father with me so he can see Brians work for a piece he wants himself and Brian had no issues with him sitting in on the sesh. Brian works with a light hand which means his tattoos hurt alot less. Hes able to compensate the light hand with really nice machinery and the product couldnt have been any more perfect. I will be posting photos of the tat after the ink sac has run its course. I highly recommend this place. The pricing is fair as well. I'm 70 years old and wanted to get my first tattoo and Brian of Rorschach was recommended. All I wanted was my father's name tattooed on my arm. I wanted my father's middle name by couldn't find it in any of his original signatures so Brian took several documents with my dad's name and cut and pasted letters to create my dad's name and it was perfect. My bestie and I had decided we wanted to get tattoos, not matching though, but from the same artist. Dan is incredible at what he does. I got a libra symbol on my left inner bicep and she got a rose and saying on her left shoulder. We were told that they use these newer tattoo guns that are quieter and it's so true. It actually really helped the experience. Dan was personable and kept the conversation flowing. Found this place through some digging on the internet. So I went to check them out since my usual tattooist is out of the country. Lol. I was greeted by petite tattooed woman who was more than helpful. I'm reviewing piercing and tattooing. I took my adult child with me first time to check shop out. He ended up getting pierced. Let me tell you the guy was so professional and efficient. Great piercer. Made my adult child feel comfortable. Prices are on point and reasonable. When you first walk in the walls are adorned with art for sale by the tattooist which is nice to see that they have artistic ability bc that makes for an awesome tattooist IMO. I'm a very picky tattoo customer for many reasons..too long to explain. I will say this they did win several awards in NJ. So they must be doing something right. Okay down to tattoo. It took me almost a month to finally get one. I knew what I wanted to get and where. Now I had to figure out who was going to do it. I explained to the sweet girl what I was looking to get and she told me who would be perfect for me. So we set up a consultation and some paper work. So next time I went in we discussed what I wanted, so had to go back in 2 weeks to see design. Then once that was taken care of I was ready to make appointment for tattoo. I do like that they are thorough on paper work which is alot and it can be tedious. Anyway, you do have to give a non refundable deposit, most respectable shops do that so it makes you come back and show how serious you are about appointment and don't waste their time. Time is money. Well finally yesterday was the day. Appointment was at 4pm but tattooist had alot of interruptions so I didn't actually start getting tattooed till almost 5pm. Which was a little disconcerting but I had prepared to be there for awhile. My tattooist Ryan, was sweet,professional and understanding. He took his time and asked me questions as we were deciding on details about the tattoo. He made me feel comfortable and at ease despite the area(painful slightly) I was getting tattooed. In an hour it was done and I was totally happy with end result. I can't wait to go back and get the others i have planned. Totally great shop and definitely worth a check in. They also do cover ups, tattoo removal, piercings, and tattoo make up( which from what I've seen is amazing) So come on what are you waiting for time to get some ink!!! I recently brought my somewhat squeamish 16 year old daughter in to have her belly button pierced. Alex Christopher looks like a tatted, pierced tough guy but he was so calm and sweet with her. She was scared and kept stalling and he was extremely patient. After the piercing he saw that she looked pale and had her lay down to keep her from fainting. He put a cold compress on her forehead and the back of her neck. Mind you, there were other people waiting but he didn't rush us at all. The piercing turned out great and now I understand why this studio has such a great reputation. I can't recommend them enough. read more

So I can't speak for the tattoos, but this review is in regards to the tattoo removal this place does and their lack of customer service after said tattoo removal process goes wrong. Long story short, I wanted a tattoo removed. Rorschach Gallery advertises tatt2away as a safe and effect tattoo removal option that is more effective than laser. I spoke with the technician and was assured that my tattoo would be removed in 2 sessions. 4 sessions later, instead of a removed tattoo, I'm left with a hideous scar on my forearm. To make matters worse, when I tried to talk to them about my experience, I was told that I might need another session to clean it up. No one would let me speak to a manager in regards to my removal process or lack thereof, instead they told me that the healing process could take years. Years??? My skin is scarred, raised, and discolored, and I should wait a few years to see if it will heal? I ended up going to a dermatologist to havemy forearm PROFESSIONALLY looked at and it turns out, my skin is completely scarred layers deep. I need two different lasers just to bring my skin back to a normal texture and then either get a cover up or have a third and separate laser treatment done to bring my complexion back. I love this place so much! Brain was so gentle and understanding with me. I had a rose on my back previously that another artist did and it turned out horrible after 2 years because it lost almost all its color! (I will attach a photo). I meet with Brian who took a look at it, asked me what I was looking for, and had me leaving the store feeling confident that I made the right choice. Overall we had a great experience & will most likely be back for more detailed tattoos! He did a fantastic job on my daughters tattoo as well as mine. He was able to take my daughter's thumb prints and turn it in to a heart, then take her name in her handwriting above the heart. The staff aren't just friendly with their own clients, but with everyone's clients, engaging in riveting conversations about a myriad of topics while simultaneously being efficient and effective in their work. If you're the quiet type, there is no obligation to engage, all are welcome to sit or lay silently and get tattooed by some of the best artists they'll encounter if they wish. Those who are especially social will find Rorschach Gallery to their liking. The artists are wildly talented, I follow a number of them on Instagram. Sunday Brian is a co-owner and he worked on my American Flag full sleeve tattoo. To say that he did a great job would be an understatement. A better description would be that there is no element of the art, nor the experience that could have gone better, simply perfect all-around. I find myself now looking for more tattoos I could possibly get. Truth-be-told, I hadn't expected to want another tattoo so quickly after my last. This review is for the Rorschach Gallery Hillsborough. I called the Rorschach Gallery to schedule a consultation with one of their artists. I was greeted on the phone by Jessica. She was very friendly, professional and accommodating and we scheduled a consult for a few days later. Upon entering the Rorschach Gallery Hillsborough, I noticed the shop was brand new. VERY clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing. I met up with Hoagie, an artist at the shop, for my consultation. We discussed what I wanted in detail. Hoagie was patient, and attentive. He gave me his business card and told me to expect an email with some sketches. I paid a deposit, scheduled my appointment for the actual tattoo, and left. Just a few days later, I received an email from Hoagie with my first sketch. I LOVED certain aspects of it, but wanted a few minor changes. Hoagie was great about the changes, and got back to me the same day with updated sketches. The next day, I went in for my tattoo. I met up with Hoagie again, and we tweaked a few things in the sketch, and then it was time for my tattoo! The tattoo area was VERY CLEAN. The cleanest shop I have ever been to. Hoagie took care to set up his work area in the most sterile way possible. He made sure I was comfortable and then he got to work. His technique was very good. I felt very little pain and discomfort. Hoagie was very attentive and we had a good time chatting! He is a very down to earth guy. The whole shop is the same way! I had a great time talking and laughing with the artists! In the end, my tattoo was even more beautiful than I expected. It is the most beautiful tattoo I have! I'm very pleased with it, and my experience at Rorschach. Ryan did an amazing job on my tattoo. I've known him and his work since high school and after coming home from the military, I knew I wanted a piece done by him. I could tell by his work that his lines were clean and after healing it looked even better. He made me feel completely comfortable and really listened to what I wanted. I had the tattoo removal process done starting over a year ago. From the first session I developed scarring in the area. They were small raised circles where he had applied the solution. It was told to me that it may have been the incorrect caring instructions given to me by an employee in the shop. I gave it sometime before going for the second session. This time I followed their instructions to the T. After 10 weeks the raised circles were still visible and the tattoo although a bit lighter it was still visible. I kept going back to the shop to show them how the area wasn't improving; all they kept saying was to give it time and keep moisturizing and applying the surgical tape on it. I went to consult with other tattoo and skin professionals and was told the area is scarred. I recently decide to get a cover up at another shop due to the unflattering scarring visible to people. read more

The short version: Ryan Farkas is an amazing artist whom you should work with for your tattoo, and Rorschach is the coolest studio I have been in. The longer version: I have had a tribal tattoo (that I have never liked) on my arm for 20 years. It was bad and mostly solid black. Other shops in the area either wanted nothing to do with the cover-up, or if they could help me, quoted outrageous prices because their egos/Instagram fame had them thinking they're celebrities and that that's more important than helping a client. So I was pointed toward Rorschach by many happy clients, and specifically to Ryan Farkas, as I was told he's amazing with cover-ups. The artists seem very close, as everyone was checking out and complimenting each others' work or simply having (hilarious) conversations. They helped each other with equipment to ensure their clients all received the best possible work they could (it seems like a small detail, but I've visited shops where the vibe was almost competitive, and no one would consider helping another artist out). Ryan was friendly, gracious, informative, and above all, is an extremely talented artist. As I told my friend, Ryan is not of this earth; he made my original tattoo completely disappear and now I have an amazing piece that I will be proud to show off. Just finished my second piece here and could not be happier. The guys that work here really care about you, take their time and create real works of art. I've actually stopped people in town when I've seen a bad ass tattoo and asked where they got it done and they answer back "Rorschach." Everyone at this shop is super friendly and easy to talk to. The shop is clean and neat- TVs playing music or movies. When I wanted to watch something they had no problem turning the TV to the station I wanted. Very relaxed environment to get a tattoo. They answer your questions and send follow up emails to see how the healing is going. The bottom line is- these guys actually give a crap. I was so happy I found these guys after so many shops in the area blew me off after walking in and asking to see portfolios. The guys here are so amazing! I've known Dennis, Brian, and Danny since before their days here at Rorschach....and not only are they really great artists but they are good guys. They really care about their clients, and you can tell from all the repeat customers, that they are great! The shop is a good size and very clean. It pains me to leave this review because I've heard so many good things about this place, as well as having seen such amazing work in the portfolios of artists working there - to be clear, this review pertains to my experience communicating with the people at Rorschach Gallery, not to the quality of their work. I had reached out to Rorschach looking to have a tattoo on my wrist covered up. (Some backstory, I had had some remorse in getting a flash tattoo in that particular spot on my wrist and was hoping to get some second opinions about getting a cover-up there; it wasn't long after I had gotten the initial tattoo, so I was already embarrassed about asking, but I wanted to know for the future so I could move ahead with it when the time was right. Normally I put a lot more thought into decisions like this, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes.) I first called them for information and was told to visit in person to talk to an artist (Brian) and see a portfolio. I made time later that week to stop by - Brian wasn't available, but I was told vaguely by the person at the front desk that Brian might not be available for cover-ups. I was given an e-mail address and told to contact him about my inquiry. So I putzed back home, typed out a detailed e-mail, and never heard back. A few weeks went by, so I decided to contact the shop via their main e-mail address just to follow up - again, never heard back. It's been over a month and I still haven't gotten a response. I understand that it's a busy studio and that there may have been various reasons for the lapse in communication (I kept asking myself if it was it my fault for asking so soon after getting the initial tattoo, or if my e-mails had just gotten lost in the cracks). I just didn't feel very assured seeing that no attempt was made to get in touch after taking the time to be thorough and respectful in explaining my situation, I guess. I'm sure I'd be thrilled with their work if I could just get through to somebody there. read more

I about Rorschach Gallery through a friend, Craig Rzewnicki, who had numerous skin-art designs created there. So, I called them, went in and was introduced to Sunday Brian. Brian is the Artist that has a talent for portraits. Without going into a very long and emotional story about how special my cat was to me, Brian went to work creating my tat, from the pix I gave him. On "Art Day", Brian made me very welcome and comfortable as he worked his magic. Brian captured the essence of Boo's personality and physical features. To me, a tattoo is very personal, a permanent commitment on your body and I cannot downplay how anxious I felt about a successful outcome. Well, BRIAN NAILED IT!!!!!! They even stayed late to finish the tattoo. I had planned to go back for follow up work and additional tattoos, but I don't think that will happen now. Here's where they lost me. I had a custom tattoo in mind. Checked out all the artists' work/style, and Dan's (Doodles) style was most compatible. Turns out he's in high demand, but I took that as a good sign. I put my name on a list - I think in March. I was told that he would open his book up in July and I would receive a call. Will you leave a message? Yes, we will. Do I have to check back? No, we'll call. Don't worry. This was told to me by the reception desk. Dan told me this HIMSELF. Mid-August I call back to see what's up? "Oh, sorry. We don't know why you were told that someone would call you. We don't do that. He's booked until October." I can't swear that the person who told me this was the same one who took my name and told me that I would get a call, but I think they were. Plus, the Owner/Artist himself CONFIRMED! Listen. I have a HUGE problem with people who show disregard or disrespect for others' time. I waited for months, and so did my wife, which is who this was really for.
