i've been trying to come to this place for some time. it's literally up the street from me, long overdue. i ordered the street noodles, that caught my eye the most off of the menu. what caught me more was that tofu was one of the options. i've never had it before so i thought to myself this would be the moment to give it a try. the chef stated he marinates in in ginger soy & grills it till where it's slightly crispy, that won me over. the dish consists of stir fried ramen noodles, bamboo, red bell peppers, marinated shiitakes, kale, carrots, scallions & sambal. it also came with hot sauce that was super good. the chef also recommended this sauce & i can't remember if he said it was habanero or jalapeno sauce. all i remember is that it was spicy, the good spicy. i was definitely full & would recommend that dish to everybody. read more

Saw a sign during cinco de Mayo festivities that they have half off ramen on Thursdays so went today. Got the pork belly option and it was so good. Flavor was on point and the noddles were very well made and fresh. I'm in town from NYC and can say this was the best ramen I've had. read more

Roppongi is a cute fusion restaurant in downtown Tulsa that serves ramen bowls, banh mi sandwiches, and a variety of other Asian themed appetizers and dishes. The staff who work here are incredibly friendly and give excellent descriptions of their menu items. They also have 1/2 price ramen on Thursday nights to cater to the college crowd. Inside, I can appreciate all the cute Asian decorations that they placed throughout the tables and counters because it makes the place feel very cozy. I tried their Tonkatsu ramen when I went, and I thought that the portion was a little bit too small for the price. The broth, egg, and noodles tasted good, but I wish they added more toppings and Tonkatsu to their bowls. When I first saw this place, I was really excited at the thought of authentic Japanese food and even wondered if they would have some of my favorite Japanese street foods. I was really disappointed to find that this was a generic Asian spot. While Roppongi is a city in Japan, this place sells Vietnamese cuisine and boba (also not Japanese). Their ramen isn't great; I much prefer Jinya down the street, which is tastier and much more authentically Japanese. Perhaps my one-star review is harsh, but it's a pet peeve of mine when places lump all the Asian cuisines together and stand behind a trendy name or city (like Roppongi). My wife and I went here on a causal date. This isn't really a place to propose but still clean and nice. Then tonight we took two of our kids for the half off ramen night. Our kids were less than happy but considering their idea of ramen prior to this was the instant packets I feel like it was more about missed expectations rather than poor food. My wife and I loved it both times. I probably liked it more though. This was most likely because I liked my condiment choices more than she did. Speaking of condiments. While the ramen is fairly authentic (I spent a week in Japan in college), it is built to add your own twist to it with the large selection of condiments. This place is great. Not too expensive. I was craving a soy-based chicken broth ramen, and when I saw this place, it didn't look very authentic and the reviews were mixed but I gave it a shot. It hit the spot sooooo well! It tasted exactly how I was hoping it would taste. Shoyu broths can be too salty but this place had it perfect. It's not authentic, but I don't care, it was so on the money that I left satisfied, and spent only $5 for half price Thursday nights. Came here on Thursday when the ramen was 1/2 price. The ramen was delicious!! I usually always switch pork broths with vegetable broths when I get ramen other places because it's always too salty for my taste, but this place had perfect ramen broth!! Not so great on the ramen front. The broth has a charred taste to it as it's dominating flavor. The miso flavor isn't very strong. The noodles are pretty dry but since I opted for rice noodles over traditional, I'll assume that's because I went with a GF noodle. Still, I would have thought it would have been a little more like a pho noodle! The soft boiled egg actually had really strong flavor and I preferred it. Definitely the best part of the meal. The blackberry and mint boba flavor is decent but the boba needed to be cooked longer as it's still pretty firm (assuming these are the kind you buy that need to be hydrated with hot water to make them tender). read more

We cannot say enough good things about this restraunt! They had the most amazing steak, sauces made in-house and Japanese Soda. My teen and I enjoyed it so much! Will be back weekly!! Not sure if it was just a bad night but it was not good. The noodles were clumpy and I am pretty sure if pressed they would have become one giant ball. It was so sad. The broth and noodle are everything. Nobody at our table finished.The broth had flavor but the pork belly was burnt. My wife had the steak and it was sweet instead of savory. For some reason, I like to come here when it's raining. I think it's because their soups are so yummy and warm. They have different options; I go with the vegan, my daughter likes the one with shrimp. They serve very abundantly so I asked for a bowl to take home. The waitress was very nice and asked if we wanted to take our drinks to go, without an extra charge which was very nice. The place is very small but cozy. There is only one restroom for both genders so I didn't like that, but I now know for next time. My daughter likes the bubba (drink). The lady working the register, Lauren was very good at answering our many questions. She was spot on and came over to the table to see how we liked everything. It was a good meal but not a huge portion. Tried this restaurant today. The food was tasty. My hubby got the large bowl with pork. There was two thin slices of pork for $10. I got the shrimp lunch special. It was half the size of a regular portion with two little bitty shrimp, a spring roll and some chips. The sign said wasabi chips but there was not wasabi flavor on it. AMAZING!!! There's really nothing like this place in tulsa. The owner came to my table and told me that she went to Japan to study ramen dishes! The taste was like nothing I have experienced in the states. The noodles are incredible and on my second visit I tried the gluten free Diakon noodles. They are a Japanese radish shaved into noodle like slices. These noodles suck up the incredible flavors of the broth. Amazing and LOW CARB! I really don't like giving below 3 stars but the food calls for it. The soup tastes like chicken broth from a can. Instant packet ramen has better noodles. The only redeeming quality was the pork - it wasn't as tender as it should be but it was decent. Also on the day I came they ran out of eggs which isn't their fault, they gave us tofu instead as a sub in. Passion fruit boba is good minus all my boba balls were in a clump so I couldn't get any out. My recommendation is to go to Jinya instead and save yourself the pain. My girlfriend and I stopped here one night for some Ramen not too long before they closed. It's a small but clean place with some outside seating in addition to the barstool seating and a few tables on the inside. We got some ramen and some boba tea. My 5 stars are all about the ramen. I got the vegan ramen and my GF got the miso ramen. I added an egg and some marinated shiitake mushrooms to mine. We loved both of the bowls but I was blown away by how delicious the vegan broth was. Most Oklahoma ramen restaurants treat vegan ramen as an afterthought and it usually leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't try the meat based ramen at Roppongi but I guarantee this vegan broth is amazing and I have to say this is the best restaurant ramen I've had in Oklahoma. I will definitely be back. I figured this was a good sign, since they are so busy due to the quality they're unable to clean up, right? I figured wrong. If you're going here for ramen I would highly suggest a different, place I would of rather had a bowl of shin ramen instant from the store. I ordered pork belly ramen with miso-garlic bomb. The only redeeming quality of this ramen were the noodles. This ramen as if someone had never had real ramen decided to open a ramen shop. No depth/complexity of flavor. The broth tasted like heavily salted water and it honestly made the dish almost inedible (I did not finish) pork was over cooked and somehow they over cooked the eggs. I got this on their half off day because after the last two times I tried I wasn't impressed but after three trials I can no longer go here nor allow them to waste anyone else's money. They are so good at what they do they are not only surviving the delta variant phase of the pandemic - they are thriving - because of the quality food, service and friendliness. I was super disappointed because I wanted to love it since I love the owner's other restaurants and it was Tulsa's first ramen bar. I'm so glad I gave them another try.
