I want to first shout out to the entire staff they were short handed and they really stepped it up. Service was a little slower than usual but they really tried hard to make sure we were doing well.

    Delicious drink

We came as a group of 5 before it got busy on a Thursday and the service was so quick and attentive. We kept ordering drinks and food and waters, and our waiter was checking in on us super often. I'm surprised by the reviews about slow service. The food was good, although when we initially came we didn't realize it was Asian/ not going to be Puerto Rican cuisine). We ordered the goat cheese balls (delicious!), the tuna avocado wontons (group favorite), the shrimp lo mein (so so, but great shrimp) and mussels/clams (good). For drinks, we ordered a bunch which all tasted pretty good- don't remember all the drink names, but the mojitos were great!

This place was interesting. We were the only people there. I had a mahi salad with goat cheese balls and beets. It was really good! Kids had to improvise (no kids menu) and weren't impressed. Hubby had filet and asparagus. It was supposed to come with chimichurri sauce I'm no chef, but I watch a lot of food network and I'm a self-proclaimed foodie and I'm 99% sure the sauce (thankfully on the side) was kimchee- though the server and chef affirmed it was (red) chimichurri... anyway, we'd probably go back again. Some of the better food we had in Rincon.

I cannot believe the service that I received at this place. I ordered fish tacos and then they gave me king fish tacos which then they took back because they tasted horrible and then they said they were going to give me red snapper fish tacos and then I ended up getting tuna fish tacos. The service was good but the food was not to My delight don't think I'd come back.

I visited Roots during my recent trip to Rincon in search of vegetarian options for dinner. There was a bit of a wait upon arriving but with Covid it's expected. The restaurant was clean and measures were taken to make sure everyone is distant. The ambiance is great for dinner and drinks. It has a boho vibe and soft rock playing in the background. Menu had a nice selection of veggie options which were mostly Asian infusion. I wish they had more vegetarian options inspired by the island's cuisine. I ordered the stir fry veggies & rice but found it to be a little salty and pricey for white rice and a few veggies in sauce. Appetizer and drinks ordered were great but again pricier compared to other restaurants in Rincon. The night I went seemed to only have 1 person working the restaurant; she was waiting tables, making drinks at the bar and hosting at the door so the service was very slow that night. Took almost 20 mins to just get menus at the table and longer for an appetizer.

Tasty food, slower service. We enjoyed delicious fish tacos and a salad. We also ordered a side of plantains and loved them. Slower service and difficult to get attention of the waitress. Nice outdoor seating on the sidewalk! Recommend the food here!

I ordered carne asada tacos which were on point bursting with flavor and so delicious! Also, they really know how to mix something special for their drinks. Sitting right by the water with the waves splashing up at you is epic, especially around sunset. The setting alone feels like it should be an unforgettable dining experience. Unfortunately, the service has consistently been unfriendly and unwelcoming, which really takes away from the atmosphere. The food has been marginal at best--fine, but not memorable, and not quite what you'd expect given the location and potential of the space. It's worth stopping by for the view (and the waves) alone, but I wouldn't come here specifically for the food or service. With friendlier staff and better food, this place could be something really special.

Breakfast Omelette- was great. I had tomato, onions, no peppers, and bacon. You can choose from adding bacon or ham. Decent but not mind blowing. Pancakes- you get multiple pancakes in the stack. They were nice and fluffy. I did wish there was some more whipped cream on the plate, which are the dollops next to it in my picture. It came with a little plastic container of syrup. Spanish omelette- had like 0 eggs in it, I expected an omelette with potatoes but it was just potatos and tortilla. Not bad just not expected. Appetizers and sides Potatoes- good Mofongo- pretty good. A little dry but I think it maybe is supposed to be like that. Great with the chicken and rice stew. Bean soup- the rice was salted, which I did not know. I put the rice in the soup to tone down the salt, but I accidentally made it even saltier. The only appetizer I would not get again if they continue to salt the rice. Beans and rice- good Lunch and dinner meals Red snapper - good, came with a side of your choice. I chose beans and rice. Rice was good and fluffy. The beans were tasty. The snapper came with a rich sauce and some vegetables. Fish Tacos- very good. I enjoyed this very much with a green local hot sauce that came if you asked for hot sauce. I would get this again if I came back. This was on the bar menu I think. Nachos- came in a big portion. Very large and good. Salad- ok. Rice and chicken stew- good. Tasted very homey and comforting like something grandma would make. There were chicken bones that you have to watch out for though. Pasta primavera- based on googling primavera pasta beforehand, I was expecting a light pasta entree, but this was smothered in butter and cheese, which was very heavy and not at all what I expected. It was tasty though, but very rich. Drinks Strawberry frappe- (non alcoholic version) tasted like an elevated slushie. It tasted like it was made from a strawberry syrup instead of fresh strawberries. Pina colada- (non alcoholic version) a good pina colada.
