Taco pizza before the veggies and chips
    Jose C.

Wow. Some pretty bad reviews from this place. Seems like some people don't get out much. They advertise this place as a Quad City Style Pizza. I've had my fair share of QCSP and this is as authentic as it gets to the stuff you'll get in the Quad Cities. Is the pizza better than Chicago, NY or Detroit! Of course not. I can probably understand why people would rate this place low, but you're literally comparing apples to oranges here. I can't speak to the customer service because I did takeout, but I will say I didn't have any issues during the pickup process. I ordered my favorite type of Quad City Style Pizza. Their taco pizza, and I also ordered a pepperoni pizza. Yes, the quad style cut here is rectangular as opposed to square, or pie cut. You might give this place a bad review if you don't know that going in. I really didn't want to get the pepperoni but my wife insisted. It was ok, but I will say the taco pizza was spot on. Did packaged all the cold ingredients separately so when you get home you can assemble it fresh with the ingredient getting too soggy. The pizza itself comes with taco seasoned crumbled sausage, and mozzarella & cheddar cheese. When you do takeout, the rest of the ingredients will be in a separate container or if you're dining it will already be included, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoned chips and taco sauce packets. This pizza is definitely legit and I'm really glad that I was able to find a place in the city that can make it properly. Will definitely be returning.

The pizza was decent but the hot honey fried chicken was our favorite! We tried the pepperoni, only thing was our preference of pepperoni on top otherwise was good. Korean bbq chicken pizza was good but not my favorite. Hot honey chicken I would easily come back and order this every week lol. The chicken was so hot temp wise, crispy, and hot honey made it sweet with a little flavor and then dipped in ranch. SO GOOD.

My husband and I had lunch at Roots in West Town, Chicago, during the CHIditarod, a fun event for a good cause--Chicago's epic urban shopping cart race and charity food drive. We ordered the Korean fried chicken pizza and the Not a Carrot in the World salad. The pizza was delicious, flavorful but not too spicy, and the fresh salad paired nicely with the heavier pizza dish. The salad had delicious mango and avocado and a refreshing carrot tahini dressing. The server was friendly too. During our visit, we saw the CHIditarod contestants' decked out shopping carts which was a delightful experience, and the restaurant/bar was full of life with a great DJ!

Mixed reviews on this one, but mostly a good experience for me and great vibes about the business. We got the masala chicken pizza, salads and the popcorn chicken. I really liked the pizza, it's more a fork and knife kinda pizza, but if you are brave enough to pick it up to eat it, it's disastrously gooey and cheesy. This is a very good, but unsustainable feature. My bf is a bit of an Indian take out connoisseur -- he thought it coulda had stronger Indian flavors and less cheese (gasp, pearl clutch!). I liked it, precisely because of the cheese and subtlety, so I guess it's a personal preference to be considered. Similarly, popcorn chicken is gonna be a guilty pleasure for anyone whose favorite part of fried chicken is the breading, I would've wanted more chicken, but great crunch. We both loved our salads. I went with the avocado, mozzarella, and tomato, he built his own, highly customizable, great options. I know this business as charitable and through their partnership with Best Buddies, helping find jobs and community for folks with disabilities. This place has heart.

A friend and I ordered out from this location and was overall happy with our experience and food! From the time we ordered to pickup, the wait was completely reasonable (about 30 minutes) and the staff we interacted with during pickup were friendly. We got the 16" pizza for two and were plenty satisfied with the size. I will say, the Margherita was good, but not great. The cherry tomatoes weren't my favorite for a traditional Margherita pizza and felt a bit overpowering. The salad was also a good size with good flavor! Truly was impressed with the vinaigrette and wish it had a bit more. These reasons lead me to give four starts instead of five. My friend also thought the carrots and broccoli could have been cut better because the salad was meant to share. But we cut them up ourselves and didn't see much issue. I can't wait to try other Roots locations and these mozzarella sticks everyone raves about!

Great pizza. Very friendly service. Great tasting mozzarella sticks, but they're so expensive.

We ordered pizza with sausage and mushrooms. The crust was nice and crispy. The pizza was delicious! It was very good. They do not skimp on any ingredients which is a plus! The whole pizza was absolutely delicious.

Service- greeter and waiter Right away from the front desk and the waiter was on top of his game. We'll mannered as easy to talk to. Food- the seasoned fries were a hit with my 5yr old. The pizza was just right. Had a good crunch to the crust (seemed like a sweet crust to me too) and the Italian sausage was flavorful. Ambiance- we came during a weekday on a Thursday for dinner and it wasn't loud at all. Good for families and to have a conversation without the loud music killing the vibe. we'll come back!

Ordered delivery from them over the phone (website was having issues - charged for an order but it never went through to the restaurant). Received the food and it looked like it had been carried on its side. See pic. Still giving 2 stars since the pizza at least tasted good and their salads are always on point.

Pizza is mid, but these high priced housemade mozzarella sticks are almost worth the price gouging.

He seemed very uncomfortable with my question and gave us a very sarcastic response. "Well, I guess that's a racist juke box." We immediately felt the bad energy. We proceed to finish our beers and play a jazz song by a black female singer. Immediately the bartender and some older biker looking dudes next to us start talking smack about the song. They asked if we put the song on? We said yes, and tell us to read the room. So I respond in a very sarcastic tone. "oh, you want us to read the room, would you like us to play some Toby Keith or Kid rock for you?" They smirked and had no response. I strongly believe the place is owned and operated by white supremacist maga brothren's. I would strongly encourage people In the neighborhood to stop supporting this business.

First of all, I want to comment on the way the host was handling guests coming in. The female host that we met last night was incredibly aggressive, and made every person in my party uncomfortable. Not only was it in the way that she talked to us, but it was also the fact that when she brought up the fact that we could get bar spots, after waiting for an hour and a half, I began moving towards the bar spots, and she actually put her hands on my chest to stop me from walking. That is just completely unnecessary and highly inappropriate. Similar to other reviewers, we put our name in on the list and then went and waited at another establishment because the space in there is so limited. When we got back, we had serious questions about how we were progressing on the waitlist and whether the waitlist was fair. The waiting game lasted about an hour and a half for us. I was happy that they did give us a glass of wine while we waited basically after we told the host that things seem to be becoming hopeless. Then fast forward to when we were seated with bar seats. We ordered a couple burgers and a couple bottles of wine. The food took forever to come. It felt like a never-ending story after having gone through this incredible wait, and the bartender was near useless he disappeared in the back for over 10 minutes at one point and like we couldn't even figure out who to give a complaint. The wine and food was great, but nowhere near worth the hassle. We went through to just sit down and have momentary enjoyment. We will not be returning.
