Kari's Rating 7/10 Came during the Midwestern back in Derby held on Saturday, August 8, so this is a totally different event, but it was so incredibly packed. They had been selling pizza and they had an open style bar for the rest anything from. It was a cool open space but it was insanely crowded. Honestly not a bad place to hang for a drink when it's not too crowded! read more

I came here for an event, as it is quite out of the way of where I live. THe Chicago Intl Film Fest was doing a fundraiser using movie trivia. It's a good venue for trivia, maybe for sports, as there are a couple of tvs at the bar. I did not go to the back room; there were booths and elevated tables with high chairs. Not terribly comfortable but it was still fun. Like Many bars, this was is a BYOF Bring your own FOOD. They have a few snacks but no meals. We brought in a sandwich from Potbelly's and some popcorn (of course, movies). The bartender was very nice about giving us paper plates and napkins. Our event included a drink ticket; I got an English brown ale, and the Handsome Henry, a slightly hoppy ale named after a late dog and with 50 cents of every sale going to PAWS. I liked but did not love both; one of the seasonal ones my party wanted was unavailable. It was a fun atmosphere with attentive bartenders. It's dog friendly, with water in a jug and doggie treats. The bathrooms were spacious, nicely decorated and clean, with fliers of upcoming events. One thing I did not love was playing Night of the Living Dead on mute while we did the movie trivia! It was probably not the managers' idea, but it still made for a not great choice, much as I like horror movies. I'd go back for a flight and bring some (relatively) healthy food. read more

This was my first time at Midwest Coast Brewing Company in West town. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to find a seat on the first floor. There is a second floor rooftop. The brewery is dog-friendly and there were several dogs when we visited. Our group wanted flights, but they were not available, because it was busy. The beers we tried were the Danny Boy- not a favorite , a rum aged Irish beer , summer cobbler a sour, Harbor Gold and Long Reliever. Overall, the group liked most of the beers. They do not serve food, but Five Squared Pizza had a pop up, which was a great food offering. We were able to find street parking since the lot was closed, but it was not an issue. read more

Cute spot. They have a small parking lot and there is free street parking out front. I had one of their hazy ipas. They have different events throughout the month. It appears to be a good spot for groups as their upper level had 2 separate parties on day that I visited. read more

All the beers we tried (brown ale, oatmeal stout, and dunkelweizen) were delicious. There were plenty of seats in the spacious downstairs and a constant stream of people going up and down the stairs to the top level. There were board games and friendly dogs galore (my favor). I would definitely go back if I am ever in that area again! read more

It was my first time visiting Midwest Coast Brewery, and I was impressed. There's plenty of parking right next to the building, and an L stop just a block away makes it easy to get to. My friend was hosting a happy hour with about 20 guests, and there was more than enough space and seating for everyone. I tried the mango beer and it was delicious. My friends sampled a few of the other beers and really enjoyed them as well. The place is dog-friendly, and the bartenders are very nice, helpful and welcoming. I'll definitely be back soon to try more of their beers. read more

This is hands down my favorite brewery! Love the interior design! The coolest brewery spot that allows dogs and bring your own food. It's clean, new, modern, comfortable, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of seating, and elevator, clean and accommodating bathrooms with events posted and tampons and baby changing stations. Great for parties and friend gatherings. I recommend this place highly. They also sponsored the Chicago furniture bank today for the bed race on 9/28/25 (one of the sponsors). They love dogs and it shows. Thank you for caring about our fur babies! Can we bring cats in leashes? :-) nice staff and they are friendly. read more

Loved this brewery!! Super dog friendly (indoor too), beautiful interior with tons of seating, delicious brown ale and ESB. The server was helpful, they had a parking lot (about 8-10 spots) and plenty of free street parking too. Blue Mountain dog food was even giving away free dog food when we arrived, that's how dog friendly they are. Please give some love and visit them, they are an amazing local brewery that treats all their patrons (humans or dogs) with respect and kindness, serving up some delicious beers. Also, it's great for groups, they have a big main area and a big upstairs with a separate beer serving area and lots of tables. Check them out, you'll really enjoy it! And let your friends with dogs know :) read more

I love Midwest Coast Brewing! I've been a handful of times for either walking in for a pint or various events. The space is large and usually I have no issue finding seats. Beer is always delicious and staff is friendly. Parking can be hit or miss but I've never had issues with street parking read more

What a great brewery! Both beer and space! I enjoyed the free street parking and how spacious this location is. The upstairs patio area is huge, offering seating both indoors and outdoor. This spot is also dog friendly throughout, however, bring your portable dog bowl as I couldn't find any spare bowls around. It would be so fun for them to have a pop-up vendor selling pup treats in the future! They offer many types of beers here and even flights if you want to sample a little bit of everything. There are also events here throughout the week such as trivia and live music! I am looking forward to coming back and bringing friends since it'd be a great space for small groups! read more

The beer is still amazing but figured I'd update the review to note the new rooftop is an incredible venue. Love that they built the walls on the western side so that you're not baking in the sun all afternoon. You get all the benefits of being outside with the shade of being inside. Can't wait to return again read more

Hosted an event here on Saturday and it was incredible. The staff was beyond helpful, kind, and attentive. They were incredibly flexible and allowed us to create the event we wanted. All of our guests couldn't stop talking about the incredible vibes of the place. The layout of the roof allowed us to have different areas for our guests who wanted different things. The staff worked with us to bring in food and even an ice cream truck. They helped set up and take down and we're just the kindest most amazing people to help us that evening. read more

We only had time to grab a couple and look around the other day and it's every bit as spectacular as the pics on social media. The upstairs glassed-in beer garden is gorgeous. Behind the deep main-level 24+ tap bar we saw a vast array of well maintained brew kettles (at least 10) and equipment capable of constantly keeping those taps flowing with new beers each visit. We each had a pint and a small pour and all 4 ales were brewed to style and tasty. Since only bar snacks are offered, the bar staff seemed to have a fine knowledge of the favorite local food options. And while the neighborhood leans industrial, given that it's 3-4 blocks from the UC (where we tend to chow down at the Carvery anyway) I see us coming back soon! read more

I recommend a reservation if you're trying to grab a drink (especially on Saturdays) if you have little ones or a large group. Otherwise it will be busy and that can cause unnecessary logistical difficulties. The beer is outstanding, the space is cool. I am yet to go upstairs but seems to be spectacular. Definitely, definitely worth visiting. read more

This is a great brewery for hanging out with a group, having a party, or bringing your dog. The space is very large and the upstairs is also large and beautiful. The beers are solid and there is a good selection. Make sure to eat beforehand, as there are only snacks here. Parking is very easy in their dedicated parking lot or all along the street. read more

Stopped into this location for a quick drink before a wedding next door. There is street parking available. Music is playong but it was kept at a good level. They rooftop at the time was first come, first serve. It was pretty busy on Saturday at 4:45 pm. They offer different beers on tap, food, and bar snacks. Everyone we ran across was extremely friendly. It is fun to be able to taste different samples without needing to purchase one tall glass. read more

The space is warm and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it ideal for hanging out with friends or winding down after a long day. Really great hang with a wide variety of beers, events, the occasional snack, and, of course, dogs. Lots and lots of good boys to pet and enjoy while you're trying some of their classic-style beers. The taproom is gorgeous, really one of the nicest in the Chicagoland area. It reminds me more of a lodge vibe (specifically, Outer Range in Colorado) than what we've come to expect here in the area. They do their classic styles, as well as seasonal offerings, really well here. And the prices are pretty fantastic as well. Don't miss out in $5 crowler Sundays, about as good a deal as you're going to get in craft beer. Enjoy the taproom for a drink of three - I know I'll be back! read more

Good shit at another brewery. It isn't located in that good of an area but luckily it's close to a station so it's fast to get to. Midwest Coast is a pretty happening place. Lots of classic and interesting styles to choose from. They have these big ass crowlers you can take home with you. Came here recently because I got a deal. It's something that will be revealed later. This place wasn't too hard to find, but it took us awhile because it was the first time looking for this. Once we come back it will be easy. This is another one of those breweries opened in some old factory. It's not really a pretty area. We had a few of the offerings. I had a Holstein Helles. It's $7 for a pint. This is a German Helles lager and it's crisp and smooth. Also we got a crowler. It's $5 usually only Sundays, but it's that price if you check in. There's not really anything to eat except peanuts. It's like $1 for a bag. They're dog friendly and have a patio. Easiest way to get here is by train which takes you just a few blocks away. It's between the Ashland and California stops on the Green and Pink Lines. Take a train and get off at one of these. read more

If you know your girl, you know she likes a good brewery. I was happy to be try out Midwest Coast right when they opened, but have been there a number of times since then. I love their space! It's so cool that they kept a lot from the building they're in but spun everything to a modern & chill vibe. They specialize in German beers but have moved to a lot of different types of brews for a very diverse menu. IPA lovers, never fear they have you covered and even have a couple of ciders now. ~Tap Tips: Elevator to Nowhere is a nice 6.4% hazy IPA and it's not just a cute name. They have an elevator in the taproom...that literally goes nowhere! :) ~Dog friendly, they are allowed inside! They also have a patio. ~Bring Your Own Food, they do have some snacks like chips and popcorn. ~They have tasting flights so you can maximize the beers you try if that's your thing. We stopped in on a cold, snowy day in January and had the place to ourselves. The beer was average, but I loved that this place is dog friendly, they even have dog toys for sale to entertain your pup while enjoying a beer. LOVE a dog friendly spot. This place is pretty awesome for a casual get together with friends and their pups. It's BYOF (bring your own food) with a great selection of beers and a couple non-beer options. The bartenders are friendly and they also offer a bunch of games to play. We sat next to the production room and it was a pretty cool view. It's open seating and it did get pretty crowded after we got there so keep that in mind when planning larger group hangs. We went in December for their Dog/Santa day. This was a great place to bring our pup - he and all the other furry friends were welcome inside while their humans enjoyed the brews. When we went, it was packed and the event was very well designed. While of course, I loved the opportunity to have my dog meet Santa, I was blown away by the beers and this brewery is on my short list to revisit this spring. We loved the selection and the cool vibes inside. read more

Enjoyed some beer at Midwest Coast Brewing on Friday afternoon. A beautiful space with lots of fun beers, good service, and relaxed vibes. Quality: Midwest Coast Brewing had a solid and diverse selection of beers. I ordered a Flight with Vaguely Stylish, English Sporting Beer, Rule Of Trees, Midwest Kolscht, and Gummy Bandit. I was told Vaguely Stylish, a west coast IPA, was the most popular on the menu, which was surprising as it was my least favorite and I tend to enjoy that style. Gummy Bandit, a blueberry lemon sour ale, and English Sporting Beer, an English pale ale, were my favorites from the Flight. However, Alt Shop, a German altbier, which I ordered as a draft, blew them all away. Quantity: A Flight came with five small pours, the menu lists out the size of drafts. Value: $20 for a Flight. $7 for Draft Pours. Ambiance: Midwest Coast Brewing is a large brewery located in Chicago. It has a massive warehouse space with a substantial taproom, and appeared to also have other private areas and an outdoor patio. It has a modern industrial design, with much snazzier furniture than the typical brewery. Booths on the walls, high-tops in the center, and a long bar at the far wall. Large windows behind the bar provided views of the machinery. Several televisions hung from the walls and in the background a nice mix of indie rock played. Crowd: It did not take long after opening for the brewery to fill up. Service: Lovely bartender who was happy to provide recommendations. Parking: Plenty of street parking and potentially a small private lot. read more

Came here on a whim on the last day of 2021, as we had a late breakfast in the area and figured why not get a drink?! This place is located in the West Loop in an industrial area that is slowly popping up with breweries, art galleries, and even a popular coffee shop. The area is pretty dead, but I feel like we'll start to see more development and businesses come here overtime as the area seems like an untouched goldmine. The inside of this place feels sort of like a cozy hotel lobby with high wood ceilings, a warm tone everywhere, and good lighting. We got a table booth by the wall and were able to play some games that they had available and even some cool books. (Note to Midwest: please try to get some more games to choose from) Both of the beers we tried were excellent, and they seem to rotate them pretty often with new ones which is also great. The man serving up our drinks was very friendly, and overall the vibes here were great. I'm definitely already thinking of when I can revisit this place. They have a Divvy bike parking right out in front and this place is also about a 15 minute walk from the Ashland Green/Pink line stop. They're supposedly going to build a Western station in the next few years too which would make this right next to the station. I'll be back for sure! read more

I like this place a lot! It's one of few breweries my non beer drinking wife likes enough to return to over and over. It has: -lots of dogs, so many dogs -flights in a dog bowl because why not -a nice, varied beer selection unlike some places that home in on fewer types -a beautiful taproom that is classy and cozy at once -friendly, helpful staff -a nice outdoor space for warmer months I definitely recommend it on a day you find yourself on the west side of town. The less crowded it is the better, but I've gotten great service when they're super busy too! read more
