I have waited years to finally get the top of the line Speed Queen washer and drier matching set. Just after installation, i discovered the hose bibs leaked. Rooter time was able to come out in just a few hours and removed the 43 year old junk that was compression seized to the wall and replace it with top of the line brass ball valve fittings that will last as least as long as my 25 year expectations for the washer and drier. The materials are all top notch, highest quality, non-toxic and they were custom designed to look good and ergonomically fit my room on the spot after arrival! I am an engineer and I recognize talent when I see it. All the right tools, organized truck was super careful not to scratch a thing and he really cared that I was happy. "Hit and Miss" seems like a correct evaluation. My experience was a big time "Miss". This rating is not timely as I did not record my experience when it happened. I have since noticed on "Nextdoor" that other Camarillo residents are having similar issues with Lonnie at Rooter Time. Lonnie was recommended to me on a rental house repair and he did a decent job at a decent price. I called him on another job to replace an 18" gas line that was easily accessible. The pipe was removed in less than 20 minutes. He returned later in the day and replaced it in less than 1/2 hour. After not hearing from him for over a week I contacted him for an invoice. After another week I contacted him again for an invoice. He came to my house and created an invoice while seated in his truck. His charge was $875. I questioned his price for such a small job. He refused to negotiate and insisted I pay his price. I thought I was dealing with a reputable plumber but realized I left myself open to being taken advantage of. Lesson learned. Within a week the gas smell returned. The gas company responded and determined the pipe Lonnie replaced was "hand tight". They tightened it with a wrench which took care of the problem. Great family owned business, Lonnie Jr. was fantastic!!! Kitchen sink neck was leaking even spilling down into the bottom cabinet the sink basin was placed in. This was truly upsetting discovering on Labor Day weekend. I called them up first thing Tuesday morning and Lonnie was at mine within a couple hours. It really bums me out to write this review, but I think others should know what to expect when working with this company. Apparently it is really hit and miss. The one thing that has been consistent is the way they avoid providing a receipt! They tell you their work is guaranteed for one year (maybe two? I can't recall...) but then they don't give you a receipt. They ask for your email address so they can email it to you, but they never do. Lonnie did a big job for me back in March that took several days and cost me literally thousands of dollars. I found him and his team to be personable and I was grateful they got here quickly, as it was a really nasty plumbing emergency. I remember Lonnie saying he would be my "forever" plumber, and I felt good about the interaction. But when the job was finished, it took a month of me calling, texting, etc. to get him to send me a receipt. He kept saying he'd get it to me, and then nothing would happen. I know it was a very busy time--only a week or two into COVID lockdown and people were having problems left and right, so I chalked it up to a timing thing. Then last week I had another problem, so I called my "forever plumber" Lonnie again. This time I got his son, who came right over and took care of the issues. He asked me for my email address to send me a receipt, then never sent it. A few days later, my sink that he supposedly fixed started backing up again, so I called and this time spoke to Lonnie. I told him the sink was backed up again and also inquired about the receipt. He asked me to text him my address and said he'd come by to take care of it. He never showed up or called/text to let me know. I waited all day the next day as well, and finally texted to find out if he would be out soon. He said he'd come the next day (day 3!) at noon. By 2:30 the next day he hadn't shown up and I hadn't heard from him. I texted again. He called and said, "Let me finish my lunch and I'll be right there." He didn't show and I never heard from him again. It really bums me out that my time meant so very little to Lonnie. If he had only told me he was dealing with an emergency, something had come up, etc., that would have gone so far. But when over the course of 3 days you repeatedly tell me you'll be there and then you blow me off with no concern at all for MY time, that's when I start to feel disrespected. If you work with Lonnie, hopefully you'll have better luck than I did this time around. If you need a receipt, however, just be sure to get it when you hand over payment...otherwise, you're in for a struggle and a long wait. read more

Similar issue to Pat in 3/2013 I was on Wooley Rd in Oxnard on my way to an appointment with two children in tow when the Rooter Time car cuts me off- no signal, nothing. I honk to let the plumbing van know I'm here and the driver flips me off!! I call the number on the back of the truck to inform of the dangerous driving that this employee demonstrates and a male answers. I ask to speak with the manager and this male says its him and he goes by the name "Rick." More than likely, it seems like this business is a one-man show and the guy who answered is probably the owner Lonnie. Anyway, I ask if he just cut me off and flipped me off and "Rick" says that I was texting on my phone and he was merging. How would "Rick" know I was texting if he's in front of me?!? So I ask again why he flipped me off and "Rick" says again that I was texting- basically I deserved to get into an accident with my kids because he was being a jerk. He tells me to have a wonderful day and I wish him the same and let him know that I was going to post this review when he hangs up on me. Do you really want your money going to someone who isn't even professional enough to apologize, whether or not they were in the wrong? If I'm the second person to report this type of behavior and "Rick" hasn't corrected the situation, it seems that this guy doesn't give a crap about the reputation his business has. Seems to me like "Rick" or Lonnie or whoever is running this dump of a business has no professional ethic and definitely not someone I would trust to do a quality job or correct poorly performed work. Let's just say this guy isn't someone I would want in my house. When you want professional and courteous people to take care of your plumbing needs, I suggest you find a QUALITY PLUMBING service who has a legit operation and doesn't practice like they got their license yesterday.
