Love this place! Finally there's a restaurant in Missoula with fresh, real food. So many times…read morerestaurant food is straight off the Sysco truck! This is different. Salad greens are fresh, clean and crisp unlike other places nearby. Good choice of salads. Great home made dressings, again not a Sysco bottom of mystery soybean oil-something. Basal is also sensitive to gluten issues if that's your jam. Service is friendly, quick. Great for a quick healthy bite. Fun to be in downtown, although parking nearby can be challenging depending on the time you go. Outdoor seating is fun for people watching. Enjoy!

I also really appreciated that they offer several vegan options. I ordered the Creamy Blue Smoothie and the Banana Walnut Oatmeal. The oatmeal was absolutely AMAZING--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the best breakfasts I've had here. It's the item I'd recommend to everyone. The smoothie was good overall, but the fresh mint was a bit overpowering and left an aftertaste for me. I think it would be even better without the mint or with less of it. I also appreciated that they use compostable straws, although mine was cracked when I unwrapped it. Later, I came back for lunch and ordered the half Brussels Caesar Salad with the vegan protein. The vegan protein (chickpeas and lentils) was delicious, and the half portion was surprisingly large. I also liked that the dressing came already tossed throughout the salad. One thing I found a little confusing was that the Brussels Caesar uses a vegan dressing but is topped with cheese, so I'd be curious what substitution is offered for guests ordering it vegan. The bread was good, although the butter was served very cold and was difficult to spread. A few suggestions that could make the experience even better: * Add a larger "Basal" sign above the entrance to make the restaurant easier to spot. * Install a large wall-mounted menu inside for easier viewing. * Keep tables and chairs wiped down throughout the lunch rush. The restaurant was spotless during breakfast, but by lunchtime several tables and seats needed cleaning. Given the price point, I'd expect a bit more attention to dining room upkeep. Overall: good atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food. I recommend the Banana Walnut Oatmeal.

And the Mutti Tomato Tartar along with the Funghi Pizza! I would say that the tomato Tartar with the crust of the pizza was amazing! The pizza itself was good but not great to me... I didn't realize that it wasn't a tomato sauce based pizza... I prefer tomato sauce but other than that the toppings were really good! Our waitress could not have been any cuter! She was here she said for a short time from NYC and loved Missoula. I hope she stays because good servers are hard to find!

I had family in town and local friends ready for our first visit to Florabella. The night before my Birthday Dinner, I realized I completely forgot to include myself in the headcount. I mean, who does that? Me. I needed a table for 7. The day of my Birthday, I stopped by Florabella to update the headcount so I could attend my own Birthday dinner. Sadly, the employee couldn't update the reservation and assured me he made a note in the reservation. Lucky for me-and despite a BUS load of travelers (yes an entire bus) and the restaurant being fully booked, the staff was able to accommodate all 7 of us. The food? INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone at the table ordered a different dish and we each RAVED about our meal. The wine list was perfect. The staff were AMAZING! Great job! We will be back...many times!

If you're in Missoula and care about food, this place is a must-visit. From the moment you pull up…read moreto that iconic curved metal facade with the rust-colored awnings, you know you're somewhere special. The selection is genuinely impressive. The wine department alone is worth the trip -- they've got everything organized by region with these great little signposts (Chile, Argentina, an actual sake and dessert section), plus a deep bench of natural and small-production bottles. Found some gems I hadn't seen anywhere else in town. The prepared food situation is excellent. The hot bar, salad bar, and antipasto bar are all $9.99/lb, and they've got a made-to-order panini station and wok bowls if you'd rather get something fresh. Solid spot for a quick, quality lunch. What really sets this place apart is that it's so much more than a grocery store. There's a whole housewares section with SMEG kettles, beautiful linens, mugs, and kitchen gear -- dangerously easy to walk out with more than you came for. They even have a sunny garden nook with locally grown succulents, orchids, lavender, and organic seed packets from regional growers. Love that they support local. Clean, bright, well-staffed, and stocked with care. This is the kind of place that makes you want to actually cook. Highly recommend.

We were seated at a window table which was lovely, the music was perfect and the restaurant was not loud even though it filled up as we were sitting there! Our server was wonderful! Classy, knowledgeable and personable. We had the smoked salmon hush puppies to start- loved the smokiness & flavor! For dinner, we were going to order the ciopinno but it wasn't available so we ordered the rack of lamb and of course, the NY steak! The rack of lamb had a good flavor, but instead of medium rare, it was well done. Sadly. The NY Steak was also well done- instead of med-rare. They did give a reduction in price when I mentioned it, which I didn't expect! Everything else was so great- we will definitely go back to give another chance!
