I ordered at the counter and had my drink in hand in no time, with genuinely nice folks behind the bar. The menu has some fun, unexpected touches too--the mint cold brew is a standout you won't find everywhere, and it's refreshing without being gimmicky. The pastry case is where they really shine. House-made bialys, savory danishes with coconut greens and pork belly, sweet danishes with black tea and roasted rhubarb, plus a rotating lineup of cookies and tea cakes. Everything looks like it's made with real care, and the bakery side (Grist) clearly takes the craft seriously. One heads-up: there's no WiFi. If you're hoping to post up and grind through a few hours of work, this isn't the spot for it--plan on a shorter visit or bring a hotspot. Nearly drove by the spot, it so perfectly blends. You can pick your brew of espresso! Which I thought was SO neat! I've never been able to do that before. The drink was incredible, but the croissant! Whoa! It was an EXPERIENCE! The perfect amount of crunchy on the outside but the inside is flaky and just the smallest hint of sweet. Hands down the BEST croissant I've ever had. Side story- they close at 1pm on Saturday, I was working on my computer and lost track of time. Even thought they were closed they didn't kick any of us out OR ask us to leave. They just locked the door so no more people came in. No dirty looks, nothing. They just let the people still inside enjoy their drinks and food. I thought that was incredibly sweet. This is my favorite spot for coffee in Missoula. The coffee tastes high quality, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the shop is spacious and airy- it's open to the outdoors via big rolling garage doors when it's nice out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is tucked away outside of town and has a unique indoor-outdoor feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a cool spot. Cute little place! The coffee was good, they had a decent selection and also a decent selection of toasts to give you a little sustenance for the morning. The service was a bit rough with the college kids but it was a fairly busy place for the last 10mins we were there. It's a good spot to check out but it looks like there are also a lot of local coffee shops around town! read more

We stumbled on this great coffee house on the back streets during a walk about. Lovely coffee shop right across the AC hotel in Missoula! I am not a coffee drinker but they have some good tea selection. I always get the London fog which never disappoints and is solid! My coffee loving friends love the coffee here! They also have some really good toast selection on their menu! Great for a quick breakfast bite. I can see why the line was out of the door and well worth the wait (I usually won't wait in line & go to a different place). Conveniently located across from our hotel, the AC Missoula (in town for a wedding). The prosciutto toast on organic grist bread is a heavenly combination. Their matcha latte was perfectly balanced. DELICIOUS. We got a chocolate croissant - maybe the best I've ever had? The chocolate was so good, still soft. 10/10. Also got a Snail which is like a pepperoni pizza croissant? SO GOOD. Remembered to get a picture before I ate the whole thing. For a drink I had a matcha latte. They have ceremonial grade matcha and they whisk it properly and everything. Not too sweet, so tasty. The service was great. Very knowledgeable about the matcha when I asked if it was good. I ordered quite a few pastries and got to my car before I noticed one wasn't in the bag. She loved it. Very yummy. Carmel latte with whole milk. Good Carmel latte with oat milk. Good. I would come again. We have been all over the country and so we know good coffee. A medium is 12 oz instead of 16. A large is 16 oz instead of 20. Which if you don't know that ahead of time is just extremely annoying to get a latte way smaller than your expectation. Ugh. The service at this shop was really good, they were willing to take the time to answer my questions about their chai even though they had a line out of the door. I'm very particular about my chai lattes, I like them to be extra spicy and made in house. After discussing how their chai is made and how it can be made extra spicy, I opted for a dirty chai latte with soy milk. I was a bit disappointed as the chai latte lacked a bit of complexity and was a bit watery, but it wasn't the worst I've had. The reason I'd still recommend this shop is I didn't try their other lattes and the place was packed, so I can't fully judge. I usually don't order food with my coffee, but the pastry's looked too good. I opted for the cardamom knot, which was buttery and coated in cinnamon sugar with a hint of spice. Delicious! Although it was busy, there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't overly loud either, so it would be a good spot for socializing or work. I'd definitely go back the next time I visit Missoula to try a different drink. read more

We also tried their fancy toast options they had available, we got the prosciutto and it was amazing as well. I can't stress enough how much we enjoyed this place. I really wanted to love this place. I moved from Bozeman a few months ago, and I really wanted to find a local coffee shop here that would be a go to place. Everyone was recommending black coffee. I'll start off by saying the ambiance in here is lovely. Very bright and open concept, music is good, pastries and bread are all LOVELY. Staff is nice and always kind and helpful. Now on to my bone to pick with this place: Drinks of any kind. I have gone multiple times, and each time have left dissatisfied and honestly really disappointed that I've wasted both the drink and my money. I was thrilled they made their own syrups as there are one of few places in town that do. However I've ordered lattes on multiple visits to this place and each time the drink is super bitter, and lacks any kind of sweetness when I've ordered it to be so. Today I ordered a matcha latte, something other than coffee with vanilla and oat milk. I wanted to give this place one more chance before giving a full review. Matcha lacked any kind of traditional flavor, color was off too light, tasted like just milk and there was no sweetness to it whatsoever. read more
