I went here last 05/28/22 had my gel nails done here because of its convenient location based from where I lived. Cynthia was nice and all but I couldn't fathom how she would decide for me and insisted the color she wanted (transparent looking color) instead of the one I picked (opaque grayish blue). She literally insisted couple of times and I tried liking it but it looks horrible and unfinished and 3 days later, IT STARTED PEELING OFF ALREADY. I also told her the thumb has hair on it but SHE IGNORED IT! I came back (06/02/22) to had it fixed to my liking. She wouldn't allow me to pick something I want AGAIN!! I immediately emphasized to her I didn't pay for something I'm not satisfied with! She let me pick the color but everything they have is either dried out or transparent looking! I ended up having white colored nail but the quality of the service is HORRIBLE! IT IS NOT WORTH $60! read more

The WORST and most EXPENSIVE mani/pedi I've ever had. She charged me $74 for a gel mani/ regular pedicure (without a proper foot scrub)! DO NOT GO! The owner totally rushed and hustled me. Their nail polish quality is trash. Many of the gel colors were old and there wasn't enough to paint all my nails. I went here for the first time since i started to live on Roosevelt Island. when i called to see the price for tips, the lady on the phone stated " What is your budget? then started to laugh and said it was $50 dollars. i made my appointment for Thursday afternoon. when I got there i requested to have Gel Tips which was $20 extra. the lady did a good job, however for $70.00 , i expected my nails to last. Right off the bat, Cynthia is one of the kindest nail technicians I've ever gotten to know. She greets everyone with a huge smile and makes all her customers feel welcomed. On her informed recommendation, I got a crystal extension wrap as opposed to acrylic nails because they are less aggressive on the nails. When I got acrylics done a year before in another salon in Astoria, my nails suffered during and after the process. With the constant filing and shaping with acrylic nails, my nail bed felt so sensitive when the acrylics were being put on and it was hard to do daily tasks afterwards. And when the acrylics came off after 2 weeks, I didn't even recognize my nails. They were brittle and damaged like I had never seen before. I swore off doing acrylics in the future but then I heard about alternatives. The entire experience with the crystal extensions was incredibly comfortable and soothing. I came into the salon with stress-induced chewed off nails, and I wanted a slight enhancement to stop my bad habit. Cynthia was gentle and caring, and she made sure to ask me how I was feeling about the shape of the nails. They look really natural and chic, especially with the natural color. I feel good knowing my nails are healthier and stronger with the application of the extensions and because they can last up to 2 months. I look forward to coming here soon! read more

The woman is nice, however, I won't be back. I was warned by locals but thought, how could you mess up a gel manicure? I should have left when they started removing my gels with a metro card. I need my nails down to the bud short for work. She wouldn't do it because "polish would get on my skin." Huh?? It never has in any other salon. 2 stars bc most people want their nails long and she can definitely shape a natural long nail nicely. Just wasn't what I wanted. Anyway, they had very little color selection, so I picked a safe pink, and you could see right through it when she was done. Anyone else would have done an extra coat or two. It was generally just unevenly painted as well. I'm taking them off myself bc it's not worth getting annoyed at every time I look at them. If they corrected these problems I may try them again bc it's convenient and normal prices. They also let me walk in. But not taking that chance anytime soon. read more

I just moved to NYC and rented a place on Roosevelt Island. Cynthia did my nails and is probably the most friendly and attentive nail tech I've ever met. The prices are definitely reasonable, especially compared to the salons near my office in Chelsea, and they offer full body waxing services, as well as facials. For a quaint little shop, they have it all, and are the nicest staff I've ever seen! I am SO happy I found a wonderful salon close to home! read more

Cynthia is so sweet! She did an amazing job on my eyebrows and lip wax! I walked in without an appointment and she made sure to take her time even though other people had walked in. You can tell she actually cares how her work turns out on you and she is very nice! I have very sensitive skin and get very red, she let me sit in front of the fan to let the redness go down before I had to walk out in the public eye! I recommend her hands down! The best customer service ever from the owner Cyntia! I called for an appointment at 7:30 PM but was delayed by my work and did not leave office until 7:30. When I called her at 7:15 to cancel, she told me not to worry and that she would wait for me. When I got off the subway, 5 minutes away from her salon, it is already 8PM, when the salon is supposed to close (10 - 8 Mon to Sat). But when I called her again, she told me she was still open! I could not believe it! I was her last customer, but nontheless she treated me with care, patience and great manicure. We chatted about her family and her business and I felt so relaxed when I talked to her, especially after stressing out for a long work day. She was such a nice lady and did a great job on my nails. I'm moving to here from Los Angeles where there is a nail salon salon on every street corner and prices are very competitive (i.e. super cheap). Overall, I had a very pleasant experience here, but there were a few things that I found not great. The price was a little more expensive than what I was used to in LA, but well, maybe that's just NYC prices. The polish color selection were high quality, but limited. Also, they use paper towels instead of regular towels for everything...a little weird, but that's okay. Now, onto the actual manicure and pedicure. For the price, it was definitely worth it. For the pedicure after the nail shaping and cuticle cutting, they scrub your feet and oh, boy, do they scrub! Then don't use that weird plastic scratchy block, but an actual pumice stone. I don't think I've had such a thorough scrubbing before during a pedicure. Also, the leg massage was superb, not like some limp-wristed ones I've had before. Coupled with the addition of a scrub on my legs, this was one serious leg massage. Hand massage that came with the manicure was the same quality sans scrub. Would I come back again? Probably...I live right down the street so convenience is definitely a plus. I'm going to check out a few more nail salons in this city, but this one is on my list of 'good' nail salons. ;) read more

I cannot recommend this nail salon highly enough. I've had countless manicures and pedicures here and they've always been excellent and long lasting. The atmosphere is relaxing, they have a good range of OPI and Essie shades and it's a perfect place to unwind and read a magazine. Cynthia is incredibly kind and played a huge part in helping me stop biting my nails. I'm so thankful to her for helping me achieve the confidence that comes with having beautiful nails. I've been going to Roosevelt Island nails for a while and I really like it. 1) Place is clean, they use disposable towels which I find great, music is always relaxing and welcoming. 2) The staff is nice, courteous, respectful and helpful when you need to decide between services. They will recommend you what is best for you not what is more expensive. 3) Their service is very good. While you get your massage they work on your toenails, cleaning and treating your feet with so much care that it feels so good... Results are awesome and no hurting no pushing your cuticles, no cutting more than necessary... Just perfect, and it last several weeks. 4) Gel manicure is awesome... I've never had my nails this nice before and it last so long!! Cynthia the owner did exactly what I asked her to do and always asked if it was good to me. I don't know if they do nail art.. As I don't use it I didn't even ask. 5) Price is fair and reasonable. There is a price list inside the store and you can ask if you have any questions. Don't let the nice place fool you. Pedicure was done in 5 minutes. She cut me. Then I asked her for a tip. She glued it on with some glue and left it just like that. She was about to put nail polish on it when I asked her if she was going to leave it like that?!! That's when she put some acrylic powder but the fake nail was literally coming off. I love this place. The owner is so sweet and friendly. She's so gentle and caring. I just started working at the school across the street and decided I would try this nail salon as an alternative to the mediocre salons in the Bronx. As soon as I walked in there was a relaxed ambiance. I was helped right away and being that there wasn't any other customer in the salon, the owner started my gel manicure while I was in the pedicure chair. Incredible place. I'm a recently graduated student, used to live on the Island, and moved a few months ago. But I still make the trip to Roosevelt Island to go get treatments at Roosevelt Nails! The staff are truly lovely, so personable. They never do a half hearted job in any of their treatments.
