Awesome and genuine food. Friendly staff, decent prices and good portion sizes (most are shareable). I frequently call in and pickup, does not disappoint. read more

We got the onion pakora as an appetizer. We ordered paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, masala dosa, and a couple of sides of lemon rice and naan, and shared it around the table. The masala dosa was as big as my arm, and delicious. The butter chicken was mine, and I almost didn't want to share it. The paneer tikka masala was great, too. The server asks the level of spicy you want when you place your order. I like my food a little hot, so got the butter chicken medium. Everyone else went with mild. We just got iced teas to drink, but our glasses were never empty. The servers were all nice, prompt, and patient when we had questions. For dessert we split a slice of the cardamom pistachio cheesecake. My only regret was that I was so full from the meal, I could only handle a couple of bites. Next time I am saving room so I can get a slice all to myself! read more

Please don't visit this place. They serve worst biryani. They don't have customer relationship. One day I ordered goat and they gave me chicken I just called them and informed. They want me to come and show the biryani. So they can believe. For saving 2$ I don't want to cheat them. read more

Only thing enjoyable about Temple. I stop here everytime I have to go through Temple and it is the best thing the town has going for it.

I'll keep it short; 1. Intimate atmosphere 2. Friendly owners and servers 3. Great food 4. Watch your spice levels if you're a total newb like me. 5. BYOB read more

Amazing Indian cuisine. Great service, great ambience, and the food was fantastic. Best chicken tikka I've ever had! Medium spice was perfect! Garlic naan was fluffy, hot, fresh! So good! A gem in temple, tx! read more

Delicious and had a welcoming environment. The Buttery Chicken, rice, and garlic naan was amazing. The spices, sauce, and tenderness of the chicken were perfection. The meal came out in a timely manner as well. I also had a mango drink that was a perfect dessert (I don't think it is intended to be a dessert). read more

This place is amazing, first time here and definitely coming back. Ginger chicken and the chicken Vindaloo were so tasty, so many robust flavors and get the jasmine rice! read more

Food is fresh! Esp the chicken dishes! They have vegan options! Waiters are so nice! Owner is not friendly, some dishes are over oily. Dosa filling is amazing but sadly it seems to be getting rather oily like the lemon rice. But the chicken dishes are just amazing good! read more

On a trip from Dallas to San Antonio, we looked at Yelp for a good place for lunch. What a nice surprise for fresh Indian food. Cooked to order. Nice chutneys and spices, even when we ordered the MILD version of our selections. The entire place looked very clean & the service was very attentive, even though only one server was handling the whole room. We will definitely make this a regular road stop. read more

This Indian restaurant surprised me with the spot on Indian flavors found in everything I put in my mouth. The excellent food mostly offset the ambiance. The decor seemed to be aimed at sleek and modern but had a strong hint of inexpensive strip mall. It was also chilly. Hopefully, as they build their following with their excellent food, they will be able to move into a better space or, at least, improve the ambiance...and turn the thermostat up a bit? read more

I don't know anything about Indian food. I haven't eaten a lot of Indian food. But this place is soo good! 5 out of 5 stars for food The first time we went, I got the BUTTER CHICKEN and my husband got the CHICKEN CURRY. We both got Mild heat. It was still slightly too spicy for us.... however my husband's dish was, for some reason, a lot spicier than mine even though we both chose mild. The second time, I got the CHICKEN KURMA and my husband got the CHICKEN TIKKA. My Chicken Kurma was fine but it reminded me a lot like the Chicken Curry... in fact, the menu states theres Cashews in it... but I saw none. It stated that it has coconut in it, but I didn't get any hint of coconut. I tasted spice and curry. Maybe they served me someone else's dish? Who knows? On the other hand, the CHIKEN TIKKA is soooo darn good. Wow. My favorite so far. It has a hint of sweetness that balances the spiciness. It's perfect. So in order of my favorite so far: 1. Chicken tikka 2. Butter chicken 3. Chicken curry / chicken kurma (because they taste the same to me) Took off 1 star for the service. I'm almost tempted to take of 2 stars... but the food makes up for it. The service is very slowwwww. It doesn't matter if there's 10 tables full or 2 tables that are full... it's all the same... slowwww service. Both times that I've been here, there's only 1 host who also takes the order and serves the customers. There was one busboy who only cleaned tables... I don't understand why he isn't taking orders or hosting either. There were a few parties that were waiting to be either seated or need their orders taken... but he was just cleaning the tables the whole time! read more

Excellent food! It was my first time to try Indian cuisine, and I will definitely return. I highly recommend the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikki Masala, and the Chicken 46. The food was spicy, but not overwhelming...left a warm glow in my mouth. Finished it off with the hot spiced tea. Yum! read more

Waco still doesn't have an Indian restaurant of this caliber. I enjoyed the garlic naan and chicken curry. We ordered our dishes spicy, and although we like spicy food, we both agreed that we'll back off a level next time. read more

I thought it was very tasty....no complaints. You must be ready for something different however. I ordered the Buttery Chicken or something like that....top level spicy. It was very good and I could eat it, but I can eat raw jalapeños. The place is clean, the service was good, and the aroma in and outside of this place just makes you feel at home. Someone at my table ordered the rice with peanuts in it.....I will be back for that ALONE. I will also be back to try the vegetarian dishes. read more

The food is great! I've had the fried cauliflower, butter chicken and Multiple vegetarian dishes. The quality of the food it good, portions generous and food cooked spot on. I appreciate having this place in town as it offers authentic Indian food in a mostly chain restaurant environment. I've only had delivery and have no knowledge of being inside of the restaurant. However a few coworkers have nothing but positive things to say about the service and the owners. read more

Very very good Indian food. I'm from the Seattle area, so I've had quite a bit of Indian food in my life. This is pretty good Indian food. Sadly, the wait can be a tad long. So don't go when you're ravenous. Apart from that, no complaints. Good food. Nice staff. Clean restaurant. read more

LOVE Roopa's - the food is on par with some of the best Indian restaurants in major cities and a true gem for Temple! To make the most of your experience, I recommend being in the moment. Slow down. Enjoy every bite and while you are waiting for your food to be cooked fresh, enjoy conversation with your friends & family. Speed is not my definition of good service. And most importantly, let's remember that everyone can have a bad day. Maybe try showing some compassion to other human beings instead of nit-picking someone online. Restaurants like Roopa's is part of what makes living in Temple so enjoyable - variety is the spice of life! read more

Went in on a Sunday. Savya was our server, and he was amazing! Reasonable prices, comfy and mellow atmosphere, and excellent food. My wife likes the butter chicken and we have been there many times. While I am glad we have this option I was very disappointed the last time we went. I got the chicken Biryani and there was hardly any chicken. Note also they tend to season on the spicy side. I think their mild is at least medium. Good luck. read more

Roopa's is a incredibly delicious spot in Temple. I didn't expect to find such a great place but it is well worth the trek. We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and the food has always been hot, fresh and delicious! The lemon rice is nice and crunchy and the chicken curry is always a favorite. Oh my gosh!! I recently moved to the area, and am slowly finding new go-to foodie places to enjoy. Yelped Indian food, and found Roopa's. They're located on a strip. Got there just before noon, and was sat right away. I ordered chicken tikka masala (I think) I can't remember-the tomato-ey cream sauce choice, medium heat. It was good and hot..spicy. I almost finished my whole glass of water. I loved it. The only negative was that I forgot to order naan (shouldn't they ask you?). I was so exited about my dish! I ended up going to the check out counter to tell him my mistake, and he said it would take a little while to get that to me because they go busy. I understand it was my mistake, but I almost finished my meal before it got out to me. I'll definitely go again, and this time remember my naan! read more

Cleanliness Very clean. Smells like spices. Floor is clean. Polished. Wooded floor. Amazing color. Servers look clean and dressed very well. No offensive odor. Smells like indian food. Tanle looked very tidy and i an very impressed. No sign of streaks. Glass looks crystal clean. Ambience I love the color of the floor. It's mahoganny. And to complement this color they have a red utensil cloth. And the floor is a dark shade of brown. Then their walls is a dark yellow tint with maroon indian design. They have a number of paintings on the wall. The paintings are landmarks found in india which is amazing because it feels like you're there! Lighting is perfect! It's definitely not too bright nor is it too dark. The music as well is of indian heritage and the volume is right. It's just enough to just have a feel of being in india. And i think there are not alot of place i've been that put that extra effort. One thing i noticed are the christmas light decor that's around the paintings. They do not clmpliment the place at all and i believe they would be better of taking if down. It does give it a bit more color but i think taht destroys the ambience they were creating in the first place Service When we walked in we werent greeted at all. It was more of a, walked in and they said right this way straight to our seats. No good afternoon or anything and none of the staff smiled neither. Right when we sat they asked us what we wanted to drink and we said we would like a minute and they said that's ok take your time and brought us a glass of water while we tried to decide which i found very pleasing. No refills. When we ordered naan, the bread, they didn't ask if we wanted garlic or not. We didn't even know it came with flavoring until we wanted another order and another asked us if we wanted regular or garlic. When the regular came that's when we realized that what we got earlier was the garlic naan i loved how when there was plate sotting the servers would go and ask before they just grab it. The owner of the place was walkkn around aswell and was asking about how the food was and he seemed like he was definitely open to suggestions and improvements. Food Food was very flavorful. But the spiciness of the food was beating its taste. I ordered mild and i was having a tough time eating my food because my lips burned too much. I get it you're supposed to like spicy food and i do. I love kimchi and that's not spicy to me at all but for it to be THAT spicy at mild. I think they just need to change their options. But the naan was so good!! I had to get a second order. The chicken curry that i ordered went great with the rice and naan. Also the cucumber helped freshen up your taste buds for all the spice that they had in the food. All in all, best i've had by far and it definitely is flavorful and full of different spices that you get on that first bite. And i believe that's what makes Indian food special is the fusion of different spices. The lemonade that they had as well was not sweet that it would shock your system. It was watered just right and the flavor is not fighting with your food. All in all 4 out of 5. Clean. Amazing atmosphere. Need to work on their service. And great food but lighten up on the spiciness. read more

The food here is so good. When I'm not eating it, I'm thinking about eating it. I've been twice and my only critique would be the plates don't sit flat on the table and kind of spin while I'm trying to shovel the food into my mouth. read more
