One of my favorites is the Bahn mi sandwich and after reading some of the reviews I was sceptical but still went. Man I'm so glad that I did! It tasted so good and the meat was perfectly seasoned. The waitress was attentive. I was the only one there which was surprising with how good the food was. It has a more modern setting and isn't run down. I would definitely recommend this place. This is a very unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant that appears to be a repurposed office building. The owner is sooooo sweet and friendly. I thought the pho was very good, and this is very impressive coming from me as I have come to learn that I am very selective in my pho preferences. This was miles better than the pho at the other major Vietnamese restaurant in Temple. My friend who is picky with her pho tasted the broth and really liked it as well. I thought the flavour of the broth and noodles was delicious. I had mentally prepared myself to douse sauce on the noodles if I thought the flavour was too bland, but it turned out to be so good. I got the pho with beef meatball and lean brisket. My friend got two spring rolls and two egg rolls. She loved the spring rolls, especially the peanut sauce they came with. The sauce had such a rich flavour. The egg rolls, on the other hand, were a disappointment. One of them had vegetables, while the other looked odd and only had some kind of meat in it. My friend told me not to try it because she knew I wouldn't like it, but I felt it was necessary to give my honest opinion and more comprehensive review. It had meat that did not taste good and was very hard. It almost felt like they made it by mistake. Even though there was music playing, it felt so quiet in the restaurant. The ambience could be improved, but it was very clean and tidy. You can see that this is a family-owned business with kids' toys outside, which reminds me of the memes that say you know that means the food is going to be good when the owner's kid is in the restaurant. I love pho so I was excited when I saw a new place when I drove down 31 Street. My husband and I ordered on February 14th, the restaurant was empty and it took 25 minutes for us to receive 2 orders of pho and 1 order of spring rolls. The spring rolls had the taste and texture of spring rolls made 4 days prior, very stale and refrigerated. The pho was made with what tasted like unremarkable boxed beef broth and none of the included meats and vegetables were fresh. I've never had pho represented to me that was as tasteless and stale as what we were given that day. Much work is needed to improve and I have 2 other options here in Temple that give a better experience and taste. read more

We ate there today (1/17/26) for lunch and it was fantastic! Owned and operated by people from Vietnam and it certainly shows! The food is authentic and delicious! I had chicken pho - the best pho i've had so far. The broth was so flavorful! The bean sprouts were very fresh and crisp. My friend had the vermicelli bowl with chicken. He let me taste it and it was also delicious. We both had an order of spring rolls which I could tell were made fresh. Very tasty. The inside was very clean and pleasant. Finally Found The Spot After 5 Years! After moving from California to Texas five years ago, one of the hardest things to find has been a solid Vietnamese restaurant--especially one that gets both pho and banh mi right. I've tried so many places over the years, but nothing ever hit quite like the spots back home... until now. This place absolutely delivers. The pho is rich and flavorful, with a broth that tastes like it's been simmering for hours (because it probably has). Perfectly balanced, not too salty, and full of depth. Every bite feels like comfort in a bowl. And don't even get me started on the banh mi--crispy baguette, fresh herbs, just the right amount of pickled veggies, and meat that's seasoned to perfection. It's the real deal. It's such a relief to finally have a go-to spot that reminds me of the flavors I grew up with. My husband was excited to try this place, so I said let's go give it a shot. We have been to dozens of Vietnamese restaurants and he is of south Asian descent so his mom makes amazing pho and everything else. I make pho regularly as well and have made everything that we tried at Saigon Square last night. Parking is super tight so if you drive an SUV or larger be ready for that. It seemed clean enough inside but I did not use the restroom while we were there. The man who seated us I assume was the owner. He seemed so happy and it makes me sad to have to write this review but I hope they use my honest feedback to make improvements so they can be successful and thrive in Temple. My husband ordered the pho- combo. Portion size is good but the pho was not very flavorful- meat was tough and they are super stingy with the fresh veg and herbs. He also ordered 4 "fresh" spring rolls. The meat inside tasted bad according to my husband and daughters - I did not try any of it but I smelled the meat and it smelled off. I ordered the combo vermicelli bowl. It was so sloppy looking like there is just one overworked person in the kitchen throwing things together :( There were two shrimp and a bit of chicken. Lots of vermicelli on top of some shredded iceberg lettuce with some chopped peanuts. I asked for some basil, cilantro and jalapeño and got 4 thick slices of jalapeño ... no basil or cilantro so I stole my husband's basil. There is usually a seasoned fish sauce served with this dish but they did not serve any. My daughter ordered the lemongrass beef rice plate. I make lemongrass beef regularly and this plate was just so sad. The rice was hard-not fresh. The beef was overcooked and practically flavorless- luckily there was not much meat on the plate at all, they covered her rice in soy sauce and garnished the plate with 4 slices of tomato. Back to my dish- the fried spring roll was entirely pink inside. I wasn't sure if it was canned ham inside or undercooked pork so I just opted not to eat it. The grilled pork bahn mi was small BUT it was the best item we ordered. I fully expected microwaved bread at this point but to my surprise it was soft. Bahn mi usually has a light crispy crust on the bread but, honestly, I was just happy it wasn't microwaved. We spent over $80 and more than half of our food was left on the table. I cook at home daily but it's nice to get a break sometimes so finding good local options is nice but for some reason not easy to find. I wish this business the best of luck and I am happy to lend a hand in teaching plating and seasoning at no cost :) read more

Pretty authentic food and the ambience reminded me of my family's house. The owner was amazing and super sweet, he was very welcoming and just talking to him made the experience better. Our group had the phở đặc biệt, an order of gỏi cuốn, and an order of the chả giò. Although the gentleman serving us was very nice and respectful, all of our food was terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. We were told it would take 15 mins for the bread to defrost to make a ban mi. The spring rolls were pre-wrapped. The shrimp fried rice tasted like it was a week old and microwaved. As others have said, the ambiance was very pleasant. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. But beyond that, it was not good news. I ordered the chicken fried rice. The chicken was inedible. It was the consistency of bacon, I don't know how else to describe it. It was very thinly sliced, dried out, and very hard on the outside. Not crispy, just hard. The rice was okay but clearly had been cooked earlier and still had hard clumps and lumps of rice. It was also very salty. My friend ordered the vermicelli with chicken slices. Her chicken was also inedible. We shared an order of egg rolls which really consisted of essentially a barely warm pork sausage in a fried wrapper. It was very greasy and not good. The water was bottled, so refills were never offered. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch, the man who was serving the tables never checked on us to see if we wanted or needed anything or to ask if everything was okay. When we finished, we sat for about 20 minutes chatting and waiting for him to bring the check. When we finally asked for it, he said we could pay at the register. He was the person at the register. I first discovered Vietnamese food at a tiny restaurant in Austin in 1986. Pho is my favorite. I'm happy to have a new Vietnamese restaurant in Temple. The pho is as good as any in Austin. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious. The gentleman taking our order and serving us was very nice. They have done a great job renovating the building. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have eaten at every Vietnamese restaurant in Austin, and Saigon Square's food equals theirs. read more

Food was delicious and love the location as it's near by. I ordered a sweet tea, very refreshing. The pho was very flavorful and light.
