I had to get pho (with beef) which is my favorite and the hubs decided to get the noodle soup with fish cake! The bowl is huge and the broth was flavorful and clear. You could tell some of the thinly sliced beef was just put in the broth as it was still cooking, that's exactly how I like it! I added hoisin, sriracha, and little chili garlic, light drizzle (just the way I like it). Normally, I can't finish my bowl but it was so delicious, I finished all the noodle and beef, only couldn't drink up all the delicious broth. One of us order shrimp fried rice, which came out earlier than the rest. The soups all come out together. I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup. There were only three wontons in the whole bowl--which was a little disappointing. The flavor of the broth was lacking. I used the toppings from one of the Phos that got ordered to razzle dazzle it up a little bit--and some chili oil. Chili oil didnt not pack much heat or depth in flavor. All in all...pretty mediocre. Would check out some other spots before I decide whether or not to return.

I took a copy of their menu and sat and waited. Then I later realized that I wanted Patè. It's not on the menu but the ladies at the counter were nice enough to add it with no fuss. I just can't imagine without patè. The menu looks promising. Lots of choices like spring rolls and wings. It looks good. But since this place is named Banh Mi Boys, I'm assuming their sandwiches should be the star of their menu. Let's see! I bought it as take out. So if you want patè, you need to ask. Which is not a problem. I'll continue my review when I take the sandwich home. I'm in a hurry to get home. Took a bite and the bread is actually toasted. The amount of veggies ratio to meat is fine. My preference would be to have more of the pickled veggies. The pickled veggies must've been made in house. It tasted fresh and crunchy. I guess what I'm use to with the California Banh Mi is a little different. I'm use to deep marinade into the meats but this will do for now since it's a soft opening. A bit too charred for me on the meat but then again Texas region they like that sort of stuff in their bbq. So I take into account that the cultural influence in the area. They've added fresh cucumbers, cilantro and jalapenos. Overall they have a nice looking menu. I would probably prefer a little more Patè. The pork meat would been better if it were sliced thinly. I like more veggies. Maybe next time I can say it when I go in for my next round. So far it's good. Im trying to not be overly picky. Been to so many Vietnamese restaurants and Banh mi places, I know what I'm looking for. It's a soft opening so I'll keep my expectations to as it is. It's brand new. I'm looking forward to trying the other stuff on their menu.

I think it was about an hour before I got to eat it and the fries aren't something you would warm up, if you know what I mean. I was really looking forward to trying this and it just didn't give what it was supposed to, for me. The service was good tho and quick, the young ladies at the front counter were very sweet. The ambiance in the restaurant was very family feel and clean so I can definitely appreciate that, not to mention the artwork on the walls are beautiful. I ordered over the phone and it was quick & efficient. The order was of a steak & egg bahn mi, a char siu bahn mi, an order of Cajun crack fries and steak & egg fries. I enjoyed my char siu bahn mi, I'd give it a 7.5/10 - mainly because my bread buns were a little hard which made it a little hard to chew but it was still delicious. The Cajun crack fries was referred to me by the young lady on the phone and it was good, tho I didn't really eat the fries, I mainly ate the chicken and bacon that was in on it (because I didn't eat it fresh, the heat created some condensation inside the plate and made the fries soggy). I have a feeling that if I had it fresh it would have been better, it's why I gave this review 3 stars. My husband had the steak and eggs and although he did not enjoy it (he didn't like that when he'd bite into the sandwich all the meat would come out), I finished all of his food (lol). The steak was a little tough but I love the egg on it too. I hope to try this place again, another day so I could give it a more justified review. I do recommend this place though.

If it was made incorrectly, that's fine, but just offer to remake it. It's a $7 drink; the cost to fix it is minimal, and customers remember when you take the time to make something right. Because I requested no ice, the drink also wasn't filled to the top, which felt dismissive considering it was a full-priced order. Unfortunately I cannot drink super cold drinks or food. Seems silly to let a customer walk away with 2 oz shy of a full drink because you usually put ice Service: The staff member was polite when I walked in and even suggested one of their specialty drinks, which I appreciated. However, after I explained that I wanted a simple peach and mango tea and didn't want the specialty item that included strawberry and jellies, she continued to try to steer me toward her suggestion -- saying, "I think you'll like this better." I value recommendations, but once a customer has clearly declined, it's important to respect their preference. After receiving the drink, I realized how overly sweet it was and politely asked if it was truly 25%. I was told it might be because the boba had honey, but having visited hundreds of boba tea places, that alone wouldn't cause such a strong sweetness. I mentioned that I'm pregnant and watching my sugar intake, an opportunity to show care, yet there was no offer to adjust or remake it. When I politely set the drink down and left, there was no follow-up or acknowledgment. I didn't ask for a refund; I simply walked away. If keeping that one cup meant more than keeping a customer, that says something about priorities. Ambiance: Poppa Bear has a cozy café setup with Wi-Fi and a warm, casual vibe. When I visited, a few college students were working quietly on laptops. It's the kind of space that could easily become a community favorite. However, the experience felt like the team was more focused on avoiding loss than creating loyalty. In business, especially hospitality, a small margin for remakes or mistakes is simply part of good operations and it pays back tenfold in customer trust. Overall: Poppa Bear has real potential. The drinks and environment are inviting, but consistent service and responsiveness will determine its long-term success. A little attentiveness and flexibility go a long way in building loyal customers.

NO more fried rice-always my grandson's favorite. Although I was disappointed when it was time to order, I chose the Mixed Protein Bun. I requested shrimp and eggrolls. It is a bowl filled with rice noodles, shredded lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and your choice of protein. It also comes with a generous portion of fish sauce. After one bite, I knew that the old chef must have left. My food was so bland. To start with, I don't think it was salted at all..... which quite often affects the flavors negatively. There were no other spices or sauce or anything tasty in my bowl. I was very disappointed. I didn't even eat a quarter of the Bun.
