I visited Namaste Restaurant today, and the first thing I noticed was the excellent service. We were warmly greeted at the door right away. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and paneer masala, and both were absolutely delicious. The garlic naan was light, flaky, and packed with great flavor without being over-the-top garlicky. To top it off, the mango lassi was fantastic! Overall, I give this restaurant a 10/10. The restaurant itself has a wonderful environment with great music. I was so excited to see on a fb post from Nameste of goat curry being offered during buffet time. That being said We were not impressed by the quantity of it or any of the offered items. We came in about 45 minutes after opening time, we were greeted and seated promptly. We were then offered drinks! We chose water , which was at room temp ( disappointing). Then the host walked us through how the buffet works. My disappointment was that we came in pretty early(12:30) and the buffet wasn't really ready for the public . Beyond that the buffet includes naan tableside - which was 1/2 of a naan and wasn't included in the buffet price ( disappointing). So our understanding was if you ask for more naan ! The food here is consistently good. Pricy but we'll worth it. Bring an appetite and be prepared to go into a food coma for a couple hours after. I ordered carryout from this establishment--one order of Chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The order was ready at the correct time. Although named "Dine in" this restaurant did not seem set up for dine in. I was set up for carry out. I am glad I was not planning to Dine In. The Chicken Vindaloo was very bland. I ate about 1/3 of it and saved the remainder for the next day. It was better the next day but not great. One of the hallmarks of Indian food is the unique and flavorful spices. My post is from an Ubereat perspective. The food is just okay (tikka masala), online didn't give you an option for spice level. In the comments I added one but I got the standard fair. It has flavor but literally no spice, a 2 year old could handle this. Second, the portion size. They couldn't even be bothered to fill up the container. Things are too expensive to tolerate this. Stop being stingy and fill the container. With actual food, not sauce. But they didn't even bother to do that. I'm assuming the sauce is from a jar or bag, not made in house. If so I'd be surprised. Honestly, I won't be back. This place is ok if you want to introduce a newbie (probably from the Midwest) to Indian food. Zero spice, artificial tasting. It's very "safe". But if you appreciate good Indian than skip this place. The good reviews are coming from people who don't know better. Flavor is mid, portion sizes are a disgrace for what ya get. Don't sleep on Yelp! I found this restaurant from my Yelp feed showing a photo a user uploaded. I saw the name and didn't recognize it. So happy and excited to see a Nepali restaurant open in Georgetown. They offer Nepali and Indian dishes. We came on a Saturday to try it and they were doing a lunch buffet for $18.99/person. There were other patrons ordering from their menu so that must be an option. I'm happy to see a minority and veteran owned business added to the area. The chili chicken was delicious, veggie chow mein and zucchini Marsala. Tandoori chicken was moist and appetizing. The naan was popular so I missed it both times I went to the buffet area. I was stuffed to ask for it. Papad/Papadam was crispy and good. Our bellies were happy. It was quiet while we dined and the servers were courteous. Very friendly. Our plates that were dirty were picked up quickly. There is one unisex restroom for patrons. We are definitely coming back to try more items. Nice to see them offering chutney, raita and papad. My siblings and I arrived at 7:30 PM and noticed that there wasn't a large crowd of cars in the parking lot. My sister and I grew suspicious so we immediately checked on Yelp to see how the reviewers feel about this place and were pleasantly surprised that there were positive things to be said. We all grew a relief and proceeded to walk inside. Upon entering the restaurant, an older gentleman sitting at the bar greeted us with a smile and invited us to sit in a booth next to the door. The observation of the restaurant was clean, and colorful, and had a few Nepalese decorations. I noticed a man vacuuming the carpet while a couple was enjoying their meal in the back of the restaurant. It was a strange occurrence since the machine was so loud that it overpowered the music that was playing in the background. The older gentlemen went to the back and brought out some water in a copper pitcher with three copper tinned cups with plates, silverware, and the menus. The man who was vacuuming finished his task and greeted us as our waiter. He was friendly, but reserved. For appetizers, we ordered samosas and our drinks. My brother had the homemade soda, my sister chose the homemade lemonade, and I got the chai marsala hot tea. The waiter came to bring out our drinks, but not everyone's drinks came out at the same time as my brother had to wait for his. Everyone's drink was tasty. The waiter then asks if we are ready to order our food. I'm sitting wondering about our appetizer. I ask him about it and he brings it out. The samosas weren't the best and did not have any spiciness to them. It tasted pretty bland in my opinion. I only took a bite and couldn't finish the rest. Neither were my siblings fancied of them. My brother ordered the sekuwa khaja set, my sister got the mango chicken curry, and I settled on the dal makhani. My siblings wanted some garlic naan to add to the meal. The food took its time to come out, but it wasn't long until we were sinking our teeth into some delicious food. Our waiter only brought out a small side dish of rice for my sister and me to share with our dishes. Honestly, I would have eaten more if I had more rice. However, my dish was so rich and creamy. The lentils were cooked to perfection and gladly they weren't overcooked. My sister mentioned that she enjoyed her meal as it was flavorful and not sweet considering it had mangoes in it. My brother said that the meat in his dish was tasty, but he did not care for the textural components. Considering that it was three people eating, I have no idea why they only brought out one piece of naan for us to share. It just wasn't enough. The most concerning thing about our experience was that the older gentleman sitting at the bar stared at us the whole time nonstop. He was very focused on us eating. He made the atmosphere dismaying. Also, when it was time to close up, the older gentleman was playing with the front door and making a lot of noise to disturb us so that we could stop eating to leave. I did not care for that part. I didn't think it was very spicy and I miss that but for basic flavors they were there. The naan unfortunately didn't survive the drive I guess bc it arrived cold and squished and all of the steam softened it. We loved the momos and the sauces that came with it! Tasted similar to the momos at the Wolf ranch market. We tried something new and got the Goti - they were tasty and i bet something we would've enjoyed more in person! This is such a beautiful location. It is sadly not being used to its best ability. The patio has unused kitchen equipment stacked in the corner and the dj stage is similarly cluttered. The food was nice. Not spectacular - better than many. The Chai was delicious to accompany. The main protein dishes I tried were pretty dry (chicken, fish) but the naan was spectacular. I have tried to come her numerous times prior and it has been closed, at prime eating times. I have also been to other restaurants in this location that much better utilized the space and still sadly couldn't make it in that area. I would highly recommend coming here, and would love to come for lunch where I hear there's a buffet. We went during dinner, and they were not busy. Some of the best Indian food I have had. We arrived a few days after they opened and the staff was super friendly and passionate. My two year old loved my paneer curry and of course the naan as well. I left feeling like I had eaten all my favorite comfort foods without the stuffed/regretful/need a nap feeling. This is an absolutely hidden gem. The service was attentive and kind, and the vegetable samosas and naan were both some of the best I have ever tasted. All the food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant has pretty decor and even has a beautiful tree growing through it, which I loved. SO GOOD! If you are in the area you need to stop by Namaste. The food at this restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The lamb vindaloo is super tasty, with nice chunks of lamb and potato. The chicken tikka is some of the best I have had in a long time. The chicken momos are also fabulous, but the star of the show is the paneer naan. If you come to this restaurant, trust me you want to order at least 2 orders of the paneer naan. Service is great! Super friendly staff.
