We had initially contacted Custom Flooring Specialist about removing wood floors in the kitchen and…read morereplacing with tile. I could not imagine how this would work so it took me 23 years of thinking about it. I called Custom Flooring because of their ratings. Randy came over, took one look at this challenge and made a recommendation to increase the amount of the floor to be tiled. Once he did that, I could finally visualize how the floor would look and I said yes to his ideas. Besides the wood floor in the kitchen, the kitchen island was an absolute horrendous eyesore and after 23 years, the cabinets were starting to disentigrate. Randy had to work with what was there in order to avoid electrical problems. I wanted something that added a wow factor to the kitchen. See the before and after pictures. Randy gave us an estimate of 6 weeks. He finished 3 days early and the 6 weeks flew right by because there was someone working every day, so we saw progress every day. There were minor problems along the way, big surprise, Randy and his crew addressed them immediately. Randy made some suggestions that I wasn't too sure about, but, those suggestions made all the difference in the world, giving our kitchen a clean, solid finish. I knew going into this that the kitchen remodel would be expensive. In the reviews I found for this company, they had a lot of positive reviews and one negative. Michelle responded to the complaint rather than blowing off the client. Her response to that negative review gave me a bit more confidence in a company I knew nothing about. Taking out wood floors and putting in tile is an expensive and nerve wracking undertaking. For this amount of money, I was nervous about finding someone who would do the job at the quoted cost, in the quoted amount of time and have the end results that I wanted, which is a fantastic looking kitchen and user friendly, and no more hardwood floors in the kitchen. This company has a near solid 5-star rating. I concur with previous clients of this company.

KNOTS FLOORING SAVED MY FLOORS AND MY SANITY!!!…read more I can't put into words how amazing this company is and I wholeheartedly recommend them! In November 2025, I sought bids to have hard wood floors put in a bedroom I am converting into a pantry and to have my existing kitchen and entryway refinished so that everything would match and I would have ample time for the floors to cure before the pantry installation. Knots Flooring was one of the companies that came to bid the work but I ended up using another company and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. After two other companies came out and totally botched three refinishing jobs, I had to swallow my pride and reach back out to Knots Flooring for help. Athena was so lovely and gracious when I reached out to her to apologize for not using them and when I admitted that I really messed up but I needed their help desperately. Regardless of my poor decision making, they didn't hesitate for one second to come to my rescue. My pantry installation was scheduled to start on February 10th and despite the short notice, Knots flooring put me on their schedule immediately so I could keep the timeline for my project while allowing ample time for the job to be done well and for the floors to cure. Not only were Athena and Danny amazing and reassuring, I can't say enough about what a phenomenal job Renato and Julio (Cesar) did with my floors and the care and respect they exhibited for my house by taping everything off, removing my baseboards that were messed up by the other companies, securing my house, the incredible clean-up afterward, and all the little things they did to make my floors look beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. If you're thinking about getting floors installed or refinishing your floors, don't waste your time taking bids from other companies, hire Knots Flooring immediately!

I asked for it to be glued down, tiles selected had instructions for gluing but they were not followed. I was not told during the project the installer was not gluing them down per instructions until the project was done. I also just discovered that when the trim they removed was replaced the caulk used was kitchen caulk (not paintable) so I had to scrape it off and redo it.

They provided us with several gym flooring options and took the time to explain the differences between them. They were especially knowledgeable when it came to the challenges of leveling our basement floor and clearly explained the different options for preparing and leveling the floor before installing the gym flooring. Their expertise made the process and decision-making much easier. The finished gym floor looks great, and we're very happy with the results. The entire process was smooth, and the team did a great job. We would definitely recommend Simply Floors to anyone looking for quality flooring and a knowledgeable, professional team!

After connecting with Simply Floors early 2026 because of the shredding carpet and after a couple of inspections and coordination with the manufacturer of the carpet, I now have the replacement installed (June 1, 2026). The installation was a good process this time and the carpet will most likely hold up very well. Good installation, done within a reasonable time frame and confirmation of details beforehand was achieved. Would have given 5 stars if this was how it went in the beginning. Although I wouldn't recommend one company over another, I would recommend solid communication with all involved, especially with the install crew and company together so everyone is on the same page from the beginning and not just futile lip service. Follow-up inquiries are also important. Would I work with this company again---probably, since they came through with corrections.

Brian refinished the red oak flooring in my 1962 home that I was beautifying for sale. The floors…read morehad never been refinished. My main concern was water damage from a waterbed which warped the boards. I was also concerned that the sanding would leave a ton of dust everywhere. Their "dustless" sanding system really works. And the refinished floors were beautiful. Brian left me 1/2 gallon of poly to finish the raised floor (stairway) of the front, coat closet. That was enough poly to top coat all the doors and door frames I was refinishing. I screwed up at the end of my woodwork finishing and left the lid off the poly. I used a higher end stain for refinishing and figured their poly would work just as well to finish the job (just the FRONT DOOR!). It didn't. My "higher end" poly was awful to work with and the end finish wasn't acceptable to me. Brian praised the poly that he uses and that the finish won't yellow. I will praise his poly as a great finish to work with. In general, Brian was very respectful of my house, did a beautiful job, and uses quality products. I very definitely recommend him and would use him again.

I have been wanting to write a recommendation for Independent Hardwood Floors for a while now as I…read morehad the work completed back in February 2020. Due to some unforeseen health issues, I have not been able until now to get this review completed. Brian, the owner is the one that does all the work from start to finish. He is a real craftsman and cares greatly about the quality of his work. I had water damage from a leaking ice maker and about 14 boards needed replacing completely. Brian had to cut out the old boards and replace with new unfinished Oak boards. Brian also suggested using a different stain than the one we had decided to use. Boy, was he right. The stain he recommended was a much better choice. Brian was always on time each morning and worked each day until each step in his process was finished. Brian had to make several other repairs to the floors before sanding and staining all the main floor. Brian was extremely careful not to get any stain on our new carpets. We couldn't be happier with his quality of work, craftsmanship and dedication to making sure we were 100% satisfied. Brain is easy to work with and willing to handle any additional items, or areas that might need special/extra attention too during the job. And as an added bonus, his quote was one of the better quotes we received for our job. Thanks Brian for the fantastic job!

Whether it's due to poor installation, poor-quality materials, or both, the flooring has not held up as it should for such a significant investment. Given the amount the previous owners paid, this level of durability is extremely disappointing. We now have to replace the floors much sooner than anyone should reasonably expect. We will be using a company that stands behind its workmanship and products with a warranty and quality that extends well beyond five years. Based on the condition of these floors after only five years, I would not recommend Simply Floors. A few photos below but it's all over the main floor you can tell they were not installed properly as they are all popping up. And yes I know the warranty was not transferable I just wanted to post so others know the quality to expect before making such a large investment!
