We had just sold our home to an FHA buyer and were beginning to go through the contingency period. I was expecting that our roof would get flagged by either the home inspector or the FHA appraiser, as it was 9 years old and we had never done anything to maintain it. There were no leaks, or anything visibly wrong that we could see, but I started to reach out to roofers anyway to see if they could just come out to look at my roof and let me know what, if anything, needed to be done. I got an email from Derrick the same day I submitted a request for an estimate through the website. He said he'd be glad to come out and have a look and let me know what needed to be done. He ended up not being able to come out for over a week, because it rained pretty much every single day. But in the meantime, during that week, I got estimates back from two other roofers, and the home inspection was completed. The two other roofers both gave me quotes for full roof replacement, full skylight replacement, and all kinds of stuff I wasn't expecting to need, totaling over $2500. But when Derrick got back to me with his estimate, it was almost $2000 cheaper - and I had to do a double take! I thought for sure he'd left off a 1 at the beginning or something. I had been bracing myself to shell out thousands of dollars for a new roof. But then I read his estimate, and compared it to the home inspector's report that I'd just gotten back, and guess what? The items that the home inspector said we needed to address were the EXACT SAME ITEMS that Derrick said we needed to address (aka NOT a new roof - just some maintenance to extend the life). I can't even begin to tell you the amount of relief I felt! I even exchanged emails with Derrick to make sure - to really make sure - that this was correct. I sent him the inspector's report, and he confirmed that his estimate would address everything the inspector was asking us to address. I even sent him another one of the roofer's estimates, which had pointed out something about delaminated plywood sheathing, and asked if he'd noticed anything else like that up there. He said he didn't but he'd be happy to have another look. He came back the next day and completed the job! Completed - the job - the next day! Another thing I should mention is that he included pictures of my roof in his email to me with the estimate attached, and no other roofer I contacted did this. He sent me 'after' pictures when the work was completed and I was able to clearly see what work was performed and that it was indeed complete. I can't say enough good things about this company - it was such a pleasure to work with someone like Derrick at a time when, as sellers, we are most vulnerable to being taken advantage of to simply get through the contingency period. It was refreshing to know that we were dealing with an honest tradesman, which seems to be a rarity these days. I was so impressed with his honesty and work that I shared his name and number with my realtor. She said whenever she sells a house in Philly, she has a hard time recommending a roofer because she's had so many bad experiences. I hope this ends up bringing Derrick more business. I recently hired Roof Works Construction to replace my roof. Derrick was very professional, great to work with, easy to communicate with, very responsive and extremely on top of the work. His roof crew did an amazing job tearing off the old roof and putting on the new one - they worked diligently and carefully. The crew managing the siding and flashing were also diligent, communicative and very focused on doing a great job. Both crews were extremely attentive to cleaning up each day after finishing the task for the day. Everyone was polite and focused on ensuring customer satisfaction. Never actually got around to getting a quote from them. I had to call on multiple occasions to pin down a date for someone to come out to give an estimate. This took weeks to arrange. Communication and responsiveness were terrible. My partner took off work the morning they were supposed to come, and no one ever showed. They never called to cancel or reschedule. I am very happy with my decision, Derek needed to cancel a couple of times due to the weather and I totally understood , with all the rain that we've been having, he communicated via email, but at least he communicated, he finally got to my house, he and his crew were so professionals, so polite, they did the job as requested it was wonderful no hassles they cleaned up afterwards, you barely knew they were there, and might I add they had the best price in Philly, shop around ,as you should, you'll never find anyone cheaper. I received a quote within a few days of me contacting them and was able to secure their services within a short period of time. I contracted with Roof Works to replace our roof. The quality of the work was great; according to pictures sent by their own team. In addition, the quote was very affordable. I emailed and called Derrick 3 weeks ago, after 3 attempts to reach him, He said he will go and look at our roof and will get back to me with an estimate that week. That never happened. I called again, he said he is sorry and he will go tomorrow and will give me a call as soon as he is there. He didn't call me the next day. Contacted this company for skylight replacement and siding for home. A worker came out and looked at my roof and the areas that I requested siding. I never received a quote. Contacted the agency and left a message. Was then told to provide my email address for the quote. It's never been over a week still no quote. A waste of my time... read more

It was very reasonable and they were able to do the work due to a cancellation the next day. I was given pictures of everything they took care of and a warranty. I've had to call these guys twice due to a few leaks in my roof. Both times were on a Sunday or late at night and they came the next day. I always panic when I see water coming into my house but I feel confident that everything is A OK after they leave!This time the leak was coming from the window frame and he was nice enough to seal it right up for me! My house sustained quite a bit of damage from a high wind storm. The shingle roofs needed to be replaced, the metal edge around the perimeter of the upper flat roof needed to be replaced, gutters and downspouts and window caps also needed to be replaced. I got quotes from 4 roofing companies. Derrick was great to work with. He came out quickly to survey the damage, and provide his assessment and quote. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my follow up questions. I chose RoofWorks based on other reviews, Derrick's expertise, and price. Work was done on time as scheduled. The price was very reasonable and the guys arrived very early and stayed very late working on my roof. They were prompt, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. I initially hired Roof Works to replace existing asphalt shingles on an investment property that I own. Two years later, I noticed that a couple of the shingles had fallen off the front side roof and needed to be replaced. I contacted Derrick to request that Roof Works make the necessary repairs and to send me a bill. When I mentioned the property address to Derrick during the call, he informed me that he had recently driven by the property and had already submitted a work order to replace the shingles and further noted that other shingles were missing on a side roof and would be replaced. In addition, Derrick noted that the missing shingles were a result of poorly manufactured shingles and their would be no charge for the repair. Roof Works is truly a company that cares about customer service and the quality of the work that they perform.
