After experiencing extensive roof, siding and gutter damage from the current seasonal storms, we were in desperate need of a highly skilled roofing company who had substantial expertise in both workmanship and the knowledge to communicate effectively with our insurance company. There truly was only one company for our huge unexpected project ~ Alpha Roofing. Be careful who you 'roof' with ~ many will not deal with insurance companies leaving you in the lurch just when you need their help most. We received a detailed estimate (thank you Edna and Christina!), Jim took the time to discuss our needed repairs with our insurance company and within a couple of weeks, Alpha had our roof fixed, the shelters beautifully repaired, the downspouts properly in place, the siding up and looking perfect! (THANK YOU SHAWN AND TOM!!) This is a top notch company ~ they keep appointments, their estimates are honest, their crew is professional and their work is unmatched. Above and beyond, Alpha Roofing is a godsend. P.S. Your clean-up was spectacular! read more

Very frustrating. Don't fall for the 15 year warranty like I did. I am writing my honest review after having my roof done by Alpha Roofing in January of 2026. I don't like writing reviews and most certainly don't like hurting people's businesses. I understand a business takes up a lot of time an effort to build and maintain while being easily hurt by reviews dropped casually over petty grievances putting somebody's living at risk. I do think taking thoughtful accountability can be a major driving force in the improvement of a business though, and that is the spirit in which I write this review. In a nutshell here is what happened to me. In December of 2025 I notice a leak in the ceiling of my baby child's bedroom. I call a roofer to take a look, and the ridge of the roof had been pulled off by the wind. Apparently, there were multiple vulnerable spots and the leak in my son's bedroom was just one of them which appeared to come from the chimney's lack of flashing (which was flagged by home inspection when I bought the house). The recommendation was to replace the roof. First offer was 10K with no warranty but after I spoke with Alpha Roofing they offered 7.6K with a 15 year warranty. I took the second offer because it sounded better plus this roofer had been recommended to me by a friend. So, the roof was done in January and in March the same leak appeared in my baby's room only 2 months after the roof was done. I get on the roof to check the chimney and notice that the flashing that had been done was a very poor job. Not only was it not step flashing (which is the standard practice and the logical thing to do here since the chimney was leaking and prompted the roof repair to begin with) but it was not even caulked around the entire perimeter surrounding the top seam of the flashing. When I showed the pictures to my home inspector, he said the flashing they did was called "Philly flashing" AKA "stupid flashing" (his words not mine). It was only the counter flashing with no step flashing laid in overlapping fashion with the shingles. I call Jim Barton (the owner of Alpha Roofing as far as I know and who had been referred to me by a friend) and he sends a couple of his workers to caulk the rest of the seam around the chimney flashing. I ask if the solution is not to do the step flashing since that is the industry standard and because my house inspector told me that the caulking would have to be redone after 2 years or so (and I paid for 15 year warranty). Jim offers to send his guys to redo it every 2 years on my bill. I tell him I don't like that because the price tag of 7.6K I paid included 15 years of warranty. After me basically wrestling with this issue over text messages and many ignored calls, Jim agrees to redo the flashing around the chimney. So, after a couple more months and a new leak in the same spot of by son's bedroom he finally sends his guys again but, surprise: he only does the counterflashing again with no step flashing. The only upgrade was cutting the reglets on the chimney wall to tuck in the top seam of the flashing sheet. I feel I have been wronged by this person. The only time Jim reached out to me was to call me in the middle of the weekend to ask for the payment of the service done the previous day. After that I have been forced to work around his schedule to communicate with him and I can't have a reasonable conversation. This is very unprofessional and shows that he is totally fine leaving me at a very uncomfortable position waiting for my roof to leak again and only then get him to do something about it. I understand that talking to clients can be frustrating and nerve wrecking for a business owner worried about lawsuits and liability. However, I have been very reasonable and waited 9 months before dropping this review after being basically ignored all this time. I am almost ready to abandon this 15-year warranty. I am more than willing to withdraw this review if I see serious and consequential action to make amends. read more

Outstanding, reliable, honest, professional, friendly, caring of customers. Excellent response time. Could have been a major repair (another company said it had to be replaced) but they were able to fix. I will absolutely be using Alpha when I am ready for my next project! Thank you guys! read more

If there was an option for zero stars, that wouldn't be enough. Disgusting behavior! Rude. Horrific language and attitude. Posting this as a safety warning, his behavior turned into aggression instantly and you don't want this man in or around your home, children or Wife. I've never been treated so disrespectfully by someone who claims to be a "professional" for asking a basic question. Please stay far away from this guy, something is very off about his behavior. read more

They do not honor their warranty. The company re-used existing flashing in several places because it would have entailed more work to do it properly. The contract stated new flashing and they didn't deliver. As a result, a leak continued because of the re-used flashing which has done considerable damage to my interior ceilings. They refused to fix it, blaming the issue on faulty siding. I now have to pay for the repairs on their faulty work. The price might be right, but you get what you get. read more

I had 3 quotes with Alpha Roofing offering the best price based on what I wanted. They had the disposal can dropped and picked up in a timely manner too. They called me back to make sure I was satisfied with the job and if I had any questions. That's why I would recommend them; very responsive and knowledgeable about their business and products used. read more

Im going to just say it seemed like a great company. Salman was great, we had a deal on price and financing , approved by the owner and while the salesman was pulling the documents to sign, the owner called back and changed the deal. Salesman was embarrassed, but he wasn't the cause. I signed with a 5 star roofer the next day for the same deal he tried to change. Owner is no businessman in my book. Honestly, other than that I would have given them my business, seemed like a legit company. read more

We made an appointment for Alpha to come and estimate a job. They didn't show, they didn't call. 3 months later, foolishly, we tried again. this time we asked the receptionist very explicitly what to expect--"we absolutely have an appointment Friday? They'll call or text if there are any changes?" She seemed annoyed but promised we were on the books. Friday came and went, No Roofer. I called. Without apology, the receptionist tersely said "Monday noon." You can guess how this ends. Monday comes and goes, no roofer, no call. just imagine trying to get warranty service from them after they already have your money. I don't understand how anyone can treat clients like this and hope to stay in business. read more

We just had our roof redone with Alpha! Jim came out to check out our roof from some leaking we had during a bad storm. Jim was kind and flexible with us, and we had him come the following week in 1 day to redo our roof and skylights. The warranty is definitely peace of mind. Would use them again! read more

Good on time and quick. Felt price was comparable and not exorbitant. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing work! I needed access to my roof, they came out the next day to give me an estimate and sent over a proposal right away. The cost never changed from the amount they quoted me. The whole team was so professional, personable and their work is superb! I can't say enough about this company. I highly recommend them for your roofing needs. I also needed someone to work on the interior of my home and they recommended Enhanced Property Solutions and both Alpha and Enhanced came and put in a skylight so that we could have access to our roof. Before and after photos included below. Not only does the skylight give us roof access it just brighten up my hallway with so much natural light. read more

Jim and his team installed a new roof on our home this past week. They showed up on time, completed the job in 8 hours. They were professional, and very careful to protect our landscaping and property. Our property was spotless when they left. They came in on pricing with a great price. I am so glad we went with them. Highly recommend. read more

Alpha Roofing asked for my contact information & address which I sent him. He was supposed to call me Tuesday morning to make an appt. for him to come out. He never called. If he didn't want the job why not just say so. No scruples & unprofessional. I just heard from the owner, Mr. Charlto, and he explained that there was a death in his family. Someone was supposed to call me but that did not happen. So I rescind the unprofessionalism & no scruples remarks. It was just a communication mishap. I wish I had known that because Alpha Roofing is the one I selected first. Unfortunately, I have someone else coming on Friday. Mr. Charlto did say that if I was not satisfied with the substitute that he would welcome a chance to make this right. So I changed the rating from one star to four star. read more

Jim and his team were great. Easy to work with and kept me updated and took pictures of the whole process of roof installation. Even dealt with my difficult neighbors during the process. I got a couple of quotes and Alpha Roofing seemed to have fair and competitive pricing as well. read more

Jim and his team patched our roof. I noticed some new water damage inside the house after a few months. He was hard to get a hold of when we reached out about it. He finally sent someone to look at the roof and then was hard to get a hold of again. In the end he said that he wouldn't stand by the previous work he did and that we'd have to pay for a new roof. I asked for a quote and he said the office would contact me -- they never did. read more

Terrible. Came out for the estimate didn't share any information but asked if I wanted an emergency fix. Thankfully I was in my right mind and declined. Was told I would hear from them about my issue then never heard back. Just terrible... read more

I'll definitely be using Alpha again! They called me within a day of requesting a quote, and Greg came by to climb up on our roof two days later. We had a leak on our flat roof in Fishtown, and Greg sent me a very thorough video explaining the issues he saw and the plan moving forward. The entire issue was resolved within a week, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. We consider this money very very well spent as we've had significant rainfall since with no issues. read more

Alpha roofing did a great job silver coating my roof, I have a roof top deck so it's not straight forward. There was a lot of detail involved. They went above and beyond after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied with the job!! I'm almost sure if there was something I was not happy with they would have rectified the situation. read more

Alpha was able to help us repair the exterior trim on our house within a week of us noticing the issue, and they came up with a solution that was effective and very affordable. Would definitely recommend them! read more

Promised response to set up appointment for estimate. Never followed through! Not dependable!

Came out and put a new roof on my two-story home in Grad Hospital. Showed up on time, did a fine job, everything looks great. Pricing was reasonable and very straightforward. Greg, Jimmy, and everyone else were very accessible, helpful, and courteous. The roof looks great, and they offered to come out later and check that the construction going on next door wouldn't damage anything. Very pleased overall with their work, would recommend fully. read more

I had a leaking roof that needed immediate attention before the next rain. Alpha came out on a Saturday, replaced the flat roof by the end of the day and their price was competitive to other estimates I received. They not only came out as promised, they responded to all my phone message questions within minutes. They were courteous, responsive, competitive, and did a great job. I would highly recommend them for the type of roof I had replaced. read more
