Reiter Roofing provides wonderful service. We have had both new roof installation, and maintenance coatings installed by Reiter, and their craftsmanship is superb. We receive compliments on the appearance of our roof by neighbors. The few times that we have had an emergency (such as stopped up gutter), their crew came very quickly to remedy the issue. We recommend Reiter Roofer very highly. read more

Evan came over yesterday to figure out a mystery issue on my roof. Always so helpful and kind. Thank you!

What's the deal man. Was told that roof was leaking by this flipping Reiter roof place cause of deck beams were penetrating wall. Reiter removed the beams but never patched the holes. They fixed the roof but not the source of the leak. Come on bro Reiter isn't so right. This is the proof they failed. It's been 5 years and roof is leaking. Contacted them at 4 years just before warranty was up and they will not return calls. Karma is a bitch. They will get what is coming to them. Can't screw people all the time but u can try. read more

Do not hire Reiter Roofing. The owner of this business showed up at my front door at 7am, banging, carrying on and ringing the doorbell incessantly, over a bill that had been paid the week prior. (He believed it was outstanding.) It was unhinged, thuggish behavior and frightened my wife - home alone with two young kids at the time because I had left for the office early that day - half to death. You are probably safer with your roofing issue than having this man show up at your home in the early morning banging on your front door and going on about an overdue bill - which, again, had been paid more than a week prior, and for which we received a receipt from the company upon payment. Internal communications issues in the business notwithstanding, it was absurd and dangerous behavior from the owner of this business himself. I've shared this story with all of my Philly friends, though my social media channels, and on as many review sites as I can. Stay away at all costs. read more

Fantastic roofing company. Did not stop until they found the leak. They followed up until they got everything fixed. Best roofing company ever. Thanks Barry!! Teresa read more

Reiter Roofing was super responsive. Less than one week between me first calling and the work being done. I needed some maintenance on my townhouse roof. The guys were courteous and clean, and showed me photos afterwards. The proof is in the rain but so far I'm super happy wIth the company. read more

2 other roofing companies had given up trying to find our mystery leak/s: Reiter's guys stuck with us. They kept trying fixes (that improved the situation but didn't solve it) until the owner Barry himself went up and fixed it. You can't beat experience. He then offered a bargain price for a new roof, and we took it. We're glad we did. They were easy to deal with, generally on time, and we believe they gave us a good price. We recommend them. read more

Said they would come between 9 and 11 am. When 11 rolled around I called to ask where they were and they claimed they had already come to the house and looked at the roof at 7:30 that morning. I explained to them that they must have gone to the wrong house. They preceded to argue with me about it, telling me over and over that they had been there. I confirmed the address with them and when they described the house they had been to, lo and behold, it wasn't mine. I told them I just missed a half a day of work waiting for them and their only explanation was "there must have been a miscommunication with the address and that maybe they could try to come over later." Pass. I'm not interested in a roofer who can't even figure out which house he's supposed to be at. read more

We had a mystery leak that was coming from our roof through our light fixture every time it rained. I was at my wits end. Barry and his team came back over and over again until they solved it. Barry was quick to return my calls, they were on time, came during a snowstorm, and offered impeccable service at a reasonable rate. They even took their shoes off while in the house and put them back on when they got to the roof. After the job was completed they even gave me recommendations for maintenance to keep my roof in the best shape possible. I would call them again in a heartbeat. read more

I called Reiter Roofing two days ago and they gave me a free consultation appointment with Mr. Charlie. He arrived on time as promised, and took fifteen minutes to look at my roof on 48th Street in West Philadelphia. He asked me to climb up there with him and he carefully explained the dynamics of my flat roof. He said that water pooling is common in the neighborhood I live in, and that even though my roof is towards the end of its life, it will certainly withstand one or two more seasons. He gave me his card and said should a leak develop (unlikely in the next one or two years), I can always call back and request a roof to be replaced. He gave me a very reasonable estimate of $1000, an amount which I need not spend right away. Basically, he saved me $1000 for the time being, and now when I need to get my roof replaced, I will most definitely call Mr. Charlie and Reiter Roofing. Very professional, helpful, and kind contractors who are not trying to swindle their customers. I know nothing about roofing, and Mr. Charlie was patient and explained to me the dynamics of a flat roof. I really appreciate his sincerity and honesty in assessing my roof. As a first time home owner, it is always good to have the services of such professionals at hand! ~ Jay read more

My experiences with contractors in the past have been what I would call, less than ideal. So when I needed a roofer to fix the leak that had developed over eight year old bedroom, I was dreading the prospect of having to wade through a sea of, what I thought would be, unprofessional roofing contractors. Fortunately for me, I decided to ask a neighbor if they could recommend someone. As it turns out, they recommended Reiter Roofing who, incidentally, had done work for two other neighbors on my block. I was a pleasure doing business with this company from start to finish. When I called, they were very friendly. The estimator made sure that he thoroughly explained all aspects of the work that was needed. They made the whole process very easy. I will definitely refer Reiter Roofing to anyone who has a roofing problem. read more

Reiter (and Chalie and Barry in particular) were exceptionally helpful, responsive, and offered a very reasonable cost. I waited several months to post a review just so I could feel confident that the roof repair did, in fact, stop the leak I experienced. Chalie came out on multiple occasions, offered his assessment, and eventually placed a gutter system up. The cost was very affordable, and he even brought his team out the day after Christmas (!) to install. They examined the remainder of the roof, and identified a few areas beyond a gutter system where the integrity of the roof could be repaird. On a separate event from the gutter install, they sent out staff to patch those up as well, and considered that an ancillary service to the original. In short, they followed up after the initial install, repaired items they identified that were not related to the work they performed (but could nevertheless cause leaks), fixed said items, and did not use this as an opportunity to charge me additional fees. Integrity and respect are hard for businesses to develop, but the top shelf staff at Reiter certainly did that for me. Although I never wish to see another roof leak again, in the unlikely event that I do, Reiter will get my business again. read more

So a little bit ago I walked into my back room on my second floor and noticed some water damage in the ceiling. Great, I thought, roof problems! Shopped around and asked around and Reiter was recommended by a few other people. I called them and a few days later the appraiser came out. While he said I could use a new roof, the need wasn't immediate. The big problem was my neighbor had demolished an old chimney and hadn't sealed it correctly. The appraiser was nice enough to climb back up and snap a few pictures for me. A few days later I was emailed the estimate, with the chimney repair work itemized in it's own section. They were able to come out about two weeks later. The guys were awesome! The morning of they actually arrived about ten minutes before they were scheduled to. They had to come through the house and, without my even asking, took off their shoes! They were polite and very sweet toward my dog and my kiddo. I opted for the whole new roof plus the chimney repair. They were quick and efficient. There were two minor things that they had to come back and take care of but that wasn't an issue. One of the workers (John?) took photos of the finished roof too. So far it looks like their work has stopped the leak. read more

Had a persistent leak after a marginal roofing job by another contractor. The Reiter Roofing team came and looked at it, and gave a number of suggestions. They provided a reasonable fix and it's been working well. The best part though was their communication. Between being on-time for the estimate, to getting a phone call letting me know that they will get it done, though the rain/thunderstorms delayed them a bit. I understand roofing scheduling is completely weather dependent, and I really appreciated them staying in touch. I've unfortunately been through a number of competitors who don't put such an emphasis on communication. Keep up the good work! read more

I think this is a business that was once reliable and good but has since gone way downhill. I had them put on a brand new roof for me. It took two days to do the roof. One of the workers was smoking while on the roof with the gas cylinder present. After the first day I went out there and I could hear the gas cylinder leaking. I called Reiter but they seemed unconcerned. A year later the roof leaked. They came to fix it. Two years later it leaked again. Each time they forget it's a two story row house and don't bring a two story ladder. So each time they have to reschedule. Each time I've taken a half day off of work to wait from them. I end up have to take two days off. Use at your own risk. read more

I Replaced original 100-year-old slate roof with a new asphalt shingle roof after a hail storm that caused extensive damage. I received several estimates for a new roof, and while Reiter Roofing was not the cheapest (nor the most expensive) I felt the greatest confidence in their abilities. The estimator who came out was on time, very honest about the work and answered all my questions. The work crew also showed up in a timely manner each day and were friendly and helpful with any questions. They explained the work as it progressed and cleaned up thoroughly. Reiter Roofing provided excellent, high-quality service for a competitive price. From the initial estimate through completion of the work, every employee was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Barry Reiter, the owner, was very helpful in answering all of my questions and making sure I was comfortable with the work that was performed. He was also extremely patient and understanding while dealing with the difficult insurance payment process, which dragged on longer than it should. He understands the inherent issues associated with insurance claims and is willing to work with you while all the paperwork and payments are finalized. I highly recommend Reiter Roofing and will use their services again. read more

This roofing company is the best there is. I hired Barry Reiter 3 times for different roofing issues I had. The last one being the worst problem I ever had and Barry and his men came to the rescue. We needed a new roof (which I expected). Reiter Roofers not only gave me the new roof in a timely matter, and during the worst weather conditions in February, but his price was better than what I had expected! Barry is a very nice person and cares very much about his customers. The men he has on his team are also very nice and explain in detail what they did, where the problems were and how they were handling the issue. After the roof was completely done, Barry inspected the entire job to make sure it is done at his expectation. Overall, I highly recommend Barry Reiter Roofing Company. read more

Communication with Reiter Roofing, specifically Evan, was seamless. He inspected our roof, verbally made a recommendation and followed up with a written estimate; all within ten days of our first conversation. They had the equipment to reach the roof line that other companies did not. The crew was amazingly clean, not a bit of drips or rubbish remained at the end of the day. All this with a guarantee too. It was a pleasure to do business with this company. read more

Reiter roofing has done a done a few jobs for me over the past two years and I have always been happy with their work. They arrive on time and quickly tackle the problem; usually for less than I had expected. I've had a gutter installed, another repaired and some patch work on a cornice return. After the cornich was repaired, the owner, Barry came by to insect the work and found a small area in need of a patch that had gone unnoticed during initial inspection. His people were back out to correct the issue without me ever asking. read more

Save yourself the time and headache! This company is totally disorganized and they do really shoddy work. We had to call over and over just to get them to come back after their initial estimate, and when they did finally show up they fixed the wrong part of the roof! They lost the paperwork, lost our phone number, and never came when they said they were going to (which means I sat at home THREE times waiting hours for nothing and didn't even get a phone call). I swear it was like being in a Monty Python movie. Really just absolutely ridiculous. In the end we had to get another company to come out and fix the work they finally did do because the roof was still leaking. Overall a really disappointing experience. read more

Needed to patch numerous leaks & re-surface two properties i own. Mr Reiter gave me a great price & scheduled a date. Unfortunately it rained but they did promptly show up once it dried out. His men were very efficient and nice guys that took the time to clean up after themselves. When it came time to pay I found I was a bit short but Barry graciously agreed I could pay him out over a few months. A true gentleman. And (so far) no leaks. I would use them again & recommend them to everyone.! read more

OVERPRICED and tardy. Both my wife and I tried to contact them many times to get an estimate to fix a gutter that needed to be repitched. Called them on a Thursday they said they would come on a Tuesday, they showed up Wednesday and then said we would get an estimate right away. After a week of waiting for the estimate we called at least three times and left messages. Three weeks later we finally got the estimate and they wanted over 900 to re-pitch a single 15' gutter. It's something that would probably take two men about two hours total to fix. read more

Awful. This company clearly does not value me as a customer. It has been almost 3 months since Reiter Roofing first came out to do an estimate on a leak in my roof. They had scheduled a day to fix the leak almost 2 months ago, but ended up just giving me a new and higher estimate for the job. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of giving them a large deposit, which I have realized is the only way in which they can survive as a business at all without having every customer walk away in frustration. When I finally got the owner on the phone he was rude, unhelpful, and unapologetic. These things take time, so I shouldn't be so upset, apparently. Whether or not they show up to actually do the work, I will not be endorsing this company again and emphatically suggest that you look elsewhere for a roofer. read more

Scheduling was a bit tough, but they gave us a good estimate. It's been almost a year since we got the new roof and it hasn't been leaking yet. They also gave us a 10 year warranty on labor and materials, given they reseal and recoat it every 4 years. read more

Reiter Roofing should be avoided. Don't use their services. I live in a South Philadelphia Row home. Every three years I get my roof coated. My I have a flat roof which is in excellent condition and well maintained. It's completely clear and unobstructed. No roof deck. The company I usually use closed down because the owner retired so I was looking for an honest, fair, reliable company to do my roof coatings. My two neighbors on my street used Reiter and were very happy with the service and prices so they recommended them to me. I contacted them to set up an appointment and had someone come out to look at my roof to give me an assessment and price quote. The person came by, looked at my roof and took some pictures. They also had a deal going where you get a discount if you do your roof before Nov. I got the assessment in the middle of October. After the assessment, I waited two weeks and nothing. I finally called them and they apologized and sent me the quote out. Of course, it was now Nov so I wasn't going to get that discount even though it was through no fault of my own. I gave them plenty of time to contact me. Well the quote was 1250 dollars to coat my roof. TWICE the amount they charged both of my neighbors even though our houses have the same exact roofs and same square feet. My only conclusion is that I was getting the "you have a nice house so i'm going to soak you" quote. In my experience, when i've invited contractors into my house and they compliment how nice my house is I can usually expect a hefty markup. The person from Reiter complimented how nice my house was within two minutes after i invited him in. The last time this happened, my upstairs toilet was leaking because of a worn seal and I couldn't remove the bolt on the toilet myself because of rust. I had a plumber come over and he immediately told me how nice my house was. He then told me it would take him a half hour to swap out the seal and wanted to charge me 400 dollars. So yes, i'm experienced with shady practices from contractors that think just becuase a person lives in a nice house that they're made of money and can try to milk you. What's most insulting is that Rieter thinks i'm stupid enough to not know what they charged my neighbors for the same exact work with the same exact size roofs. Mine's in excellent condition and coating a roof takes one day to complete. I've never paid more than 600 dollars to coat my roof and they have the nerve to insult my intelligence and try to cheat me. So stay away from this company. You'll regret it if you hire them for a roof coat. read more

Been through 2 hurricanes now and the roof is a good and sound as the day when they put in in.

I had them come to fix my lower roof, and it came with a warranty. When leaks continued, I called to have someone come take a look. It kept leaking and they kept coming back and then assured me it wasn't the roof, and referred me to someone to re-stucco my whole house. ($5K cost). The owner will defensively argue this review that he lost money on the job by sending out people and paying labor, but i will argue that if it was fixed, I wouldn't have needed to pay another company to fix the roof properly. read more

First of all, the quality of the work is fine. It is the way in which I was treated that I have an issue with. I had Chalie come out and estimate the job. He seemed impatient to get going. I had questions and seemed to think I was picking his brain so I could do a torchdown roof myself. All O wanted to know was what to have my contractor do to prep the roof for him to do the roofing. Is that too much to ask? Then he comes out to do the work. No permit. He gets turned in to L&I. Runs to get permit. Permit charge gets tacked onto my bill. Over and above the quote. Was that not his responsibility in the first place? I told him that there were three drains on the roof and we would retain two. He roofs over one and then tells me that he explicitly stated that they would do only one drain. There was no such conversation. He says that he hasa perfect memory. So I am either lying or have a bad memory? This just leaves a bad taste. If the roof does not leak then whatever. I won't go back to Reiter again. I just don't like being treated in this way. read more

Never showed up to the scheduled appointment TWICE. Took time off of work both of those days. After the 2nd scheduled appointment time was disregarded, called in & spoke to the receptionist who said they would call me back to see if they could still fit me in for the day since i had taken the day off from work. Never heard back that day. Several days later, received a call from them to schedule a 3rd appt, receptionist was unapologetic & unwilling to remain on hold for 1 minute while I verified with work if I could take yet ANOTHER day off. Unprofessional to say the least. If they cannot handle something as simple as scheduling with courtesy, I cannot imagine dealing with them if any warranty issues or any issues come up in the future. Best to stay steer clear of this one! read more

No professional roofer will ever try to tell you the source of a mystery leak, as leaking water is so unpredictable that guesswork and/or trial and error is the only way to find it. I worked on a mystery roof leak myself for over a year, and through trial and error, both before and after major storms, we were able to generalize the area before contacting Reiter in mid-August. Reiter Roofing sent "Chalie" around to inspect a problem area which we suspected was the primary source of the leak. He took photos and measurements and gave me an idea of what to expect. He sent me an itemized estimate via email, which we accepted. The only problem we experienced was the turnaround time in getting the skylight, as it was custom made in Texas using Chalie's measurements. But even that delay was to be expected; Chalie told me in advance that the wait would be about three weeks. Sure enough, three weeks later Reiter sent a two-man crew who replaced a skylight, completely resurfaced the immediate area and applied additional roof muck around the perimeter. They even removed and replaced some siding to make sure that all the bases were covered. The guys did a really clean job and spent the best part of a full day on the site. We had a major rain event on October 28, a couple of weeks after Reiter finished the repair. No leaks. Although I would not hesitate in calling Reiter again, I sincerely hope it wont be any time soon! Reiter's guys are straight shooters. read more

I contacted this company for a small roofing job that shouldn't have taken them long to do at all. No one ever came to give an in-person estimate. It was done solely over the phone. I had an appointment set up for them to come out one day. I called in the morning to verify that they will still coming, and was confirmed. When the appointment time came around, no one showed up, no one called. When I called the office, I was told that they were finishing a job and would be on their way. An hour passed, nothing, so I called again. The receptionist told me that they were on their way and that I would receive a call from her husband. More time passed, nothing. When I called the receptionist again, she said that they were stuck on another job and would be there afterwards. Mid-afternoon came, nothing. When I called again, I was told that it was too late in the day and she couldn't send the roofers out for my original appointment. The receptionist said that she would talk to her husband (the roofer) and let me know if they could come out the following day or another day. Never heard back. I took off the whole day to get the work done and they never showed. I was EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the level of service, rather "non-service", to the point where it is shocking that they have 4 stars on Yelp. I experienced similar bad service from 2 other contractors that I found on Yelp, which were also very highly ranked, so I question the validity of the reviews that these vendors are receiving (i.e. whether friends and family are posting fake reviews to elevate ranking and we're just not hearing more from those who had bad experiences). My takeaway? I will not be using Yelp again to find a contractor after 3 terrible experiences with so-called "top" vendors. read more

Reiter Roofing should be your first call if you have any issues with your roof. The entire team is professional, polite, friendly and clean. He told me the job (not an emergency) would be scheduled in about 10 days, which turned out to be true (they actually scheduled the job when they said they would--amazing!) He called me the morning of the scheduled work to tell me the rain would force them to postpone the job, but only to the following day.
