I needed a new roof and had no idea who to call so I went to my brother-in-law's friend who was a roofing supply contractor. I figured he could give me a couple good references. I also went on YELP to look for one myself. The reason I called Romano is because I noticed that Jay responded to alot of the reviews, both positive and negative. I felt that he cared about what was being written about his company so to me I thought that would mean he cared about the work that he did. Let's face it anyone can write anything online, and some people you just can't please but at least if someone had a complaint Jay was responding so people could hear his side of the story. The first contractor came out and took a look at the roof and said he would send me the estimate within 2-3 days. A week and a half later I got a estimate that looked like a 5th grade wrote it out on a piece of scratch paper. There were cross outs and write overs, not very professional at all. The 2nd contractor never even called back. When Romano came out Mike explained his product and what Romano would do and printed out the estimate right there on the spot. There were no high pressure sales tactics, he said he would like to earn my business but left it at that. I compared pricing and Romano was extremely competitive. They even matched pricing on new skylights, no questions asked. I decided to go with Romano. Once the deposit was made I was put into their schedule and within a month I had my new roof. I was extremely pleased with the results. I was also impressed because we were away when the roof was installed. I had let my neighbors know what was going on so they were aware and when I came back they let me know that they kept an eye on my house (nice to have good neighbors). They also said that all the guys were very professional and courteous to them. That's a sign of a well run company! After the first rain I noticed a leak in my sunroom. This was an existing leak that was there with my old roof too. The first contractor had thought that it was caused by old roof collars and that new collars would fix the problem. Romano had put on new collars but the problem was still there. I emailed Jay and let him know about the issue. Jay called me back the next day and said that he would come out and look at the problem. He told me that the sunrooms pitch was not that good and the rain would gather up at the roof edge. The seam had gaps and that is where the water would accumulate. He said that he would have his guys remove some shingles, lay down a rubber sealer over the seam and re-shingle the roof. Last Friday during the 95+ weather they were out and fixed the roof. This was not part of our agreement, Jay did not have to fix this as this was an issue with the sunroom not the roof. I highly recommend Romano. After spending 3 months getting estimates from roofers I called Romano Roofing. I am so happy that I did. Jay came over and was super nice and even gave my dog a toy. After he inspected the roof (which had been leaking on and off despite previous repairs from other roofers) Jay showed me pictures of the problem and we decided to do a whole new roof. I myself didn't get up there to look however my husband was impressed with the job. Price was fair and they cleaned everything up (looked cleaner than before they started!). There was a small area in the front of the house that I was not 100 percent pleased with, I called Jay and sent him a picture, he agreed with me and the next day sent people out to fix it. I had a leaky roof in the winter of 2014. My house is very old and I had several contractors look at the roof before I went with Romano. They suggested a repair/patch instead of a replacement (my connected neighbors were not interested in the cost of replacing the roof). They arrived on time and completed the work in time they gave me. This was not an easy job to complete, and it was not completed on the first attempt. The person who gave me the estimate indicated that this was to be expected. Following two big storms, they made subsequent visits to make additional patches before I was satisfied that the leaks had been stopped. Each time I called to have them come back, they were very cordial and happy to help. 18 months later no additional leaks have been found. Instead of them telling me that I needed a new roof, they inspected my roofing finding the real problem was that both chimneys needed flashing and the j channels needed caulking. They did some other work too, but the most important part was stopping the water from coming in the house which damaged the walls on the second and third floor. Now no more inside water damage. We love our new roof. Pricing was very reasonable and the quality is outstanding. In fact, I've never even heard of some of new venting technology that they installed. Very professional to work with. Clean crew and they even helped out with our gutters, downspout and closing in an old attic fan at no additional charge. We have a detached garage and didn't feel like we needed all the bells and whistles of venting and underlayment on that structure but they refused to do any work that was not at the highest quality... Wonderful to do business with. I had serious problems with my roof after having another contractor put a new one on and would not make good on the job. Call a few companies for estimates and out of all Romano was very professional. Gave the estimate and did not hound me about the job. Had a leak from the ceiling, called the plumber and he spent whole day and said its the roof leak. Called romano roofing, they charge you not that cheap but are good professionals who know what they are doing. the guys changed roof vent pipes, but still leaked, he came back and managed to dig the root cause of the problem without charging us extra. it was a plumbing issue. Romano sent 2 roofers to replace one vent collar. I happened to be there in the early morning when they did the work although i was not needed. In approx 30 minutes, the replaced two collars with better grade ones and repaired the surrounding shingles. I was thoroughly impressed by not only the professionalism of all involved (thank you Jay and Mary) but the attention to detail and work above and beyond what I expected. First time i used these guys i just had a small leak in my kitched. Their service was quick and painless. They explained all work before going ahead. And they got done couple of hours later.
