I was actually really surprised at how good the food was here. Because when you look at it, it is just a hot dog wrapped in a pita bread. Of course, there are different flavors, and you can tell there are extra things on it like cheese and some coleslaw, but overall it was a very simple delicious dish. The place was very festive. There were a lot of people and the decorations were superb. It was actually right next to the marketplace. Based on the location and the deliciousness of the food, I had to wait in line very long. A wrapped around the decoration. And then after you order, it actually took a while for the people to give you your food. So if you don't have time to waste, I suggest you move on. Ronto Roasters is part of the Black Spire Outpost. The outpost resides on the fictional Star Wars Outer Rim planet of Batuu. Bakkar operates the restaurant and uses a modified podracer engine (at the center of the restaurant) to cook up large slabs of ronto meat rotisserie-style. Now back to reality... The menu consists of the Ronto Wrap or a Nuna Turkey Jerky. They also have some drinks like tea, frescas and limeade. I have to continually tell myself not to expect too much from Disneyland or any theme park in general when it comes to food. When I thought about it more in regards to my feelings on Ronto Roasters, I decided to go with 4 instead of 3 stars. If I were to look at this food the same way I look at restaurants outside the theme park, it would definitely be a 3. First, its not cheap for what you get. Its not a great deal for $14. Its essentially a glorified hot dog with a little bit more of the fancy vegetables, peppercorn sauce, and a pita bread instead of a bun. Now if a hot dog is going to be at least $10, then this is worth it. The flavor combination is decent with the freshness of the coleslaw and a nice bite from the peppercorn. The sausage inside is small and thin. If you had a strong appetite, this would be more of a big snack then an actual meal. There are definitely a few options out there that are cheaper and probably more bang for your buck, but overall this place is decent and definitely an option I would consider when I visit again. read more

On the first trip to Batuu after morning drinks at Oga's, my group of off-worlders and I wanted to sample the native cuisine and our first stop was Ronto Roasters. Ronto Roasters is adjacent to the Millennium Falcon and it is hard to miss a droid roasting some ronto ( https://bit.ly/2Y9HLew ) with the help of a sub-light starship engine. Most of you not familiar with alien zoology are probably not familiar with a ronto so here is a little background on what you will be consuming if you visit this establishment. A ronto is a four to five meter tall four-legged saurian (reptile) herbivore native to the planet of Tatooine. On Tatooine, rontos are the favored pack animal / mount of the indigenous Jawa population. If you own the remastered version of A New Hope, you will see a ronto being startled by a reckless driver as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker arrive at Mos Eisley. Rohlinism: One of the mysteries in life should never be what is for dinner! Now that I have educated you on exactly what a ronto is, I can move onto discussing its consumption. My group of off-worlders sampled cuisine from the menu ( https://bit.ly/2Ryzpup ) from Ronto Roasters on all three of our trips to Batuu. On our first visit the better half and I split a Ronto Wrap ( https://bit.ly/2J4eDz2 ) and a bottle of Batuu Water ( https://bit.ly/2XF75fv ) because the public hydrators ( https://bit.ly/2IPvbM2 ) in the Black Spire Outpost have a "slight" dianoga infestation. If you are not familiar with a dianoga, you might know it as the trash monster that attacked Luke Skywalker when he was trapped in Garbage Compactor 3263827 on the Death Star. The better half and I grabbed a bag of the Nuna Turkey Jerky ( https://bit.ly/2LhIkiP ) for a late evening snack on our second visit. For our last visit, we ordered a local beverage called Meiloorun Juice ( https://bit.ly/2KDng6U ) to go with our ronto wraps. Don't be deterred by long lines, because the menu is extremely limited the line moves rather quickly. I think the longest wait time during the three visits was 15 minutes and the longer wait was because the kitchen needed to prepare some more ronto ( https://bit.ly/2X5533X ) for all the wraps being ordered. Costs for off-worlders are typical for any location run by Darth Mouse, but if you an off-worlder with Disney Passholder Credentials, you can get discount off your local cuisine here. The real trick is finding seating ( https://bit.ly/2WZ5YCF ) with a patio seating for about 20 off-worlders right next to Ronto Roasters overlooking a small patio with seating for about a dozen more patrons. If you have a group, my suggestion is to split up with some people getting in line to order while others hunt for a table. It didn't take us too much time to find seating on any of our visits and we had more luck with the lower patio seating than the tables right next to Ronto Roasters. The Ronto Wrap dispelled the myth that all proteins taste like chicken because ronto tastes like swine. The ronto sausage had a spicy flavor and was nicely cooked. The nuna turkey was a little bland and dry, but fortunately the slaw helped mitigate that dryness and tied the protein elements together. I thought the pita bread was a smart choice over a typical hotdog bun and didn't lose its integrity when exposed to the wet slaw. The Batuu Bottled Water had striking resemblance to Dasani Water which is sold at Disneyland back on planet Earth. Nuna is commonly known as a swamp turkey and is reptavian (having both reptilian and avian traits) gamebirds native to the planet of Naboo. Nuna meat is used in dishes like Nuna Gumbo and are craved by Gungans during holiday feasts. In jerky form, it was as dry as the planet of Tatooine sans the granular texture. The jerky was almost completely void of flavor and will give your jaw joints quite the workout. I really felt like I was gnawing on a snake skin belt. I am not really sure what Gungans see in this gamey bird, but this off-worlder will be avoiding this form of jerky on future trips to Batuu! The Meiloorun Juice was a well balance drink with a good amount of zest from the lemon and desert pear juice which was balanced by the sweetness of the pineapple and blueberry. With the Batuu summer approaching, any off-worlder looking for a cold refreshing drink to beat the heat should order this drink from Ronto Roasters. I would recommend visiting Ronto Roasters on your next trip to Batuu for a sampling of the native cuisine, just avoid the Nuna Turkey Jerky unless you feel your jaw doesn't get enough exercise during the course of a normal day. read more

Yummy snacks and THE BEST drinks are found here! The food here reminded me of gyros, and foods you may find and cool food trucks. The food is pretty good too, so no complaints there. The ronto wraps can be spit amongst 2 people as something to hold you for a bit. I have to say, as the food was good, the drinks were amazing. Every drink here is non-alcoholic, but SO GOOD!! Each drink is like a unique punch, but has great flavor, and the "good ice" if you know what I mean. I have loved all the drinks, but the "spicy" one (which is not spicy just a tad spiced) is my favorite. The lines were a little bit long and everyone wanted food and drinks from here, but if you mobile order on your way over it saves so much time! Ronto Roasters is the quick counter dining spot inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge aka Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. You'll see the big flame sign signifying that you've arrived and the rotating spit of mystery meat operated by a droid. To order, just get in line or utilize the Mobile Order feature on the Disneyland app. I find that it's easier to place your order via app, walk up, and claim your meal. The Ronto wraps are the item of choice and they offer breakfast options before 11 am. There is a vegetarian version offered too but I ordered the regular Ronto wrap with pork sausage, roasted pork slices, and slaw on a pita flatbread. They also serve non-alcoholic beverages, sodas, and water here. The service via the app was quick. I didn't even need to wait in line. I've heard that the jerky offering wasn't that great so steer clear unless you really happen to like jerky. I don't. Please offer something other than turkey jerky, Disney. The Ronto wrap itself reminded me of an upscale hot dog which was pretty good, considering I paid $11 after my AP discount for one. I prefer Docking Bay 7 over Ronto Roasters but for a quick meal, you can't beat the speed of getting your food here. read more

The Galaxys Edge is new territory to us. We realized Ogas Cantina didn't offer sufficient food so we hopped into line here for provisions. We could order online for faster service but it was worth it for us to stand in line for 10 min to know if there was anything offensive to our food sensitivities. Just overhead the ordering station of workers a sign is illuminated with photos of their signature drink lavations and edibles. With a droid, busy keeping a rotisserie filled with foreign meats, churning over a foe fire spit that is being blasted by the looks of a recycled pod racing engine. It is incredibly unique to behold..... Once through the line we quickly ordered their signature Ronto Wrap. Filled with Porteguese sausage, pulled pork, coleslaw and a tangy but not too spicy sauce filled inside a grilled pita. It was well seasoned and incredibly flavorful! It's a shame this sandwich is only located here at this very location throughout the entire resort. It's a MUST TRY!!!! We washed down the Ronto Wrap with their Meiloorun Juice and the Tatooine Sunset drinks. The Meiloorun Juice is a very colorful, tart and yet flavorful drink filled with a mixture of multiple fruit juices consisting of pineapple, lemonade, cranberry, blueberry and pear. It will be a standout drink for any hot day. The Tatooine Sunset drink is a smoother, subtle sweet, lite and refreshing to the pallet beverage. It consists of Gold Peak unsweetened tea, lemonade, melon and blueberry. It is the perfect Go-To sipping anytime, of any day or season of weather beverage. Both drinks just rounded out our thirst and we would happily return anytime just for these refreshments! The only downside is Ronto Roasters is the only walk up food stand that offers any substantial food option without entering a restaurant. Any other stand is just a snack or beverage only. Therefore the line is going to get incredibly long as people are looking for a quick bite that is not a snack food and don't want a restaurant meal. My husband has been wanted to try the Ronto wrap sense Galaxy Edge has opened. We were in line less than 5 minutes. (We didn't bother with mobile orders this trip). The Ronto wrap is Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, tangy Slaw, wrapped in Pita. The pita was soft and warm, the coleslaw was creamy, the pork was savory. Calling all Portuguese Sausage (Linguica) fans! The sausage in the Ronto Wrap is basically a mild Portuguese Sausage and it's SO GOOD in the wrap! It's grilled and there's a good balance of char flavor while still being super juicy. The sausage is wrapped in a warm and fluffy pita with a piece of roasted pork and topped with a tangy coleslaw and a peppercorn sauce. To be honest, the piece of roasted pork didn't add much to the wrap as it didn't have much flavor (which is why the one star was deducted from the rating). Even with that being factored in, the Ronto Wrap has now joined my list of top Disneyland foods, so much so that I may consider trying to make a version of it for myself in regular life. I definitely want to come back to try the breakfast version of the wrap (sausage with eggs and cheese!). If you can, try to walk around the rest of Star Wars Land while eating it. Delicious! We mobile ordered two Ronto Wraps while visiting Galaxy's Edge the other day (be sure to mobile order - it's so convenient and this place gets really crowded) and let me say this little wrap is SO tasty. It's one of the best things I've had in the park. The tangy slaw was a great compliment to the pork (which is a bit sweet) and the peppercorn sauce gives it just a tiny kick. Really yummy. We also tried the Meiloorun Juice which was delicious, too. Cranberry, pineapple, blueberry lemonade and pear makes for a sweet and slightly tangy purple drink that definitely feels like it's out-of-this-world. Wraps are $13 and the specialty drinks are $5.50 so be prepared to spend a minimum of $20 per person here. Would absolutely eat this again! read more

At first seeing a hotdog with a Turkey slice and coleslaw made me wonder but when I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. This is such a cool food stand!! Located inside Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and one of the only two places you can order food in this section of the park. A massive display of a droid animatronic smoking huge slabs of meat greets you as you enter the area. As steam rises, and the sounds of sizzling beef surround you, your mouth begins to water from the smell of these savory cuts. The pita sausage wrap was delicious and is an item I've already ordered twice! Beef Jerky is nothing special, especially at 8 dollars for one piece. The ronto wrap is very good and you can just taste the sausage with maybe coleslaw on top or something and you can taste the sauce on top and the layers of meat just give it flavor to it.
