Who charges $1000 for a 20 mile tow, Ron's does. This scummy shop was called by 911 to tow my car after a crash on an icy road and when the driver showed up he got my car out of the road and took it around 20 miles back to his shop. I was told the cost would be $200 plus $7 a mile but when I got the bill I was charged $500 for towing and $500 for roadside assistance which they told my insurance was for winching. This place is a scam and everyone who works here should be ashamed. read more

After getting in a serious collision, our vehicle was towed by Ron's. We were informed it would be placed in a secure lot. When we arrived the next day, our vehicle was in an insecure lot far from main building. Our rear window was smashed out from the accident and subsequently we had approx $1500 stolen from the vehicle. Awful quality of service and customer care. Do not use this company! read more

Until today, my family and I have been bringing our vehicles to Ron's for YEARS and have never had any issues - we have always felt heard and satisfied with the work that was completed along with the communication from the shop to the point where we have recommended this shop to MANY others via word of mouth. Today I went to pick up my car and had some questions about the charges before I paid - Mary at the front desk quickly started getting frustrated and being rude, then calls a young tech who worked on my vehicle in to 'explain' the charges which he couldn't fully do. I requested to speak with the owner Ron for better clarification, which was denied, and told that I had to "go through her [Mary]." Mary then threatened to keep my car as I was "refusing" to pay and told me that she would now only accept cash from me due to "how I was acting". When I responded that I didn't have cash on me, she responded with "well then you can walk". After explaining that if I used my debit card it would pull the money automatically, she gave me an "Authorization" form to charge my card - I had never filled one of these out for work on my car previously so I read through it first and noticed that the bottom of the page stated something such as "by signing here, you are agreeing to be satisfied by the services provided". I brought up to Mary that I felt uncomfortable signing the form as I was NOT satisfied with the services and was requesting to, again, speak with somebody for more clarification on what the specific charge was for. Mary again refused to let me speak with the owner Ron and threatened to call my "parents" because "they have more sense" - I am a 30 year old woman and have always handled my own car maintenance so I'm confused why this statement was even made. I then agreed to call my mom for guidance on the situation and while on the phone, Mary and the tech were laughing at what I was telling my mom and threatening to call the cops on me - SOLELY for asking for clarification on why I was charged the fee. I ended up paying simply to get my keys back but I can guarantee my family members and I will NEVER step foot into this shop again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. This was the most extremely unprofessional, unnecessary, uncomfortable, and disrespectful interaction that I have ever had as a customer. My car still has both problems I brought it in for because they "couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong" and that they have IDEAS of what it COULD be but that I would need to take my vehicle to a Subaru dealership in order to *actually* figure out the problem. Very disappointed not only about the lack of fixing my car, but mostly at the way Mary handled this situation.. no word from Ron. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

I have taken several cars in, and have used their towing services. I nearly totalled one car by hitting a deer, another got hit by a rolling boulder, another skidded into an icy ditch. Once I slid off my own damned driveway and into a mud patch and had to be winched out. They do good work and are very professional and organized. I trust them. read more

Twice I have had the pleasure of dealing with Ron and his company. Both times treated me like family. The first time my daughters 2 year old Jeep was making odd noise from the right front tire. They took us in that day. About an hour later they called to tell us that they had found the problem and that it was an issue that was still under warranty. Not only did they not charge us for working on our car, they made the appointment for us at the local Jeep dealer and all we had to do was take the car over to the dealership and drop it off, to be picked up the next day. The second time I was coming to town when my wiper fluid froze while driving the 3 hour trip to Cortland. I called Ron on my way to town and asked if he could fit me in and help, this was the Monday after the big snow storm we just had so lots of salt on road. He said come in as soon as I get to town. I did so, he unclogged my wiper fluid and sent me on my merry way again with no cost. I am so happy to know that if I have an issue there is Ron and his company to be there and treat us right. read more

As a first time customer I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy that was extended to me by Corey. He was very friendly and took very good care of my truck getting it loaded and secured on the roll back. He made sure I had a ride and verified the location I wanted my truck delivered. When you are stranded in a parking lot (on a hot day) with your nearly new truck, you are really happy when a friendly cute guy comes to your rescue and makes sure you are okay and takes super good care of your truck. Definitely recommend them!!!! read more

I had our family van repaired at Ron's in 2020, our insurance company stated they were a preferred repair facility. By early 2021 the paint was blistering and starting to peel/fail. I had them look at the results of their paintwork at the beginning of 2021 and was told it was due to the supplier of the parts. I had asked that they make it right. They were to contact me to make the arrangements for this corrective repair, 6 months later I have heard nothing. I would not take any vehicle of value to this repair facility. read more

Very expensive, poor communication, not good pricing on their parts most likely don't negotiate well or don't pass along any savings to the customer. Had to wait over a month for auto repair that Ron Sr and Ron Jr. committed to completing in 2 weeks. Buyer beware ~ always get 2 or 3 quotes. I would not recommend. read more

When my car was involved in a hit and run my insurance company "geico" recommended rons. Ron him self was an easy going gentlemen and very kind and helpful, he also did an excellent job on repairing my vehicle. Now Frank "geicos" on site worker, he on the other hand wasn't very helpful at all! He was very rude on the phone several times and always made me feel like I was trying to get over on the repairs. If you're going through geico I would say to stay away if you don't want to feel like a crook for no reason. But other than that, Ron was great and so was Susie at the front desk! When my car wrecked 200 miles from home, my insurance company recommended Ron's. With no references or referrals, we proceeded blindly. I do not regret the choice at all. Ron ordered all new parts for the repair and I was kept up to date on the repairs by Suzzie in the office all the way along the process. When I picked up my car I was amazed with the results. The vehicle was so clean - not even a water spot. Ron is obviously a perfectionist and it showed in his work. I would highly recommend Ron's for even the smallest job. read more

They charged me for over $300 for still not fixing the car. When I disputed over this issue, a woman at the front desk cursed me "f**** Ass****". They just want your $$$$ and horrible customer service. Stay away from their business!! read more
