After diagnosing the car, they told me both rear EPB actuators and calipers needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $1,124. They later called and said the car was fully fixed and ready for pickup. However, when I arrived, the brake warning light was still on and the EPB was still not functioning properly. I immediately informed them. The next day, they re-examined the vehicle and told me the parking brake control module had lost communication and that they could not fix the issue. They referred me to a Mazda dealership for further repairs. In other words, after charging me over $1,100, the original problem remained unresolved. When the vehicle was returned to me, the brake fluid reservoir cap was missing. The reservoir had been temporarily covered with plastic, and I had to return the following day to obtain a replacement cap. This raised serious concerns about the level of care taken during the repair. I spoke directly with the owner, William Chen, who has been very unprofessional and dishonest throughout the process, about my concerns. During our phone conversation, I explained that I was disappointed and did not want to keep parts that did not resolve the issue. He initially stated that he could return the aftermarket parts (though not the OEM actuators). However, after speaking with someone else at the shop, he changed his position and said he would not return the parts or issue a refund. Overall, I paid for a repair that did not fix the problem and was then told to take the car elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

Jim was the best. But now horrible service. Lets see I took it in for an inspection and a check engine light on, and I left with what I thought might be good service repair....nope! I was charged for a battery I didn't ask for ( $300), and they weren't even respectful enough to put the terminal cover back on it the shroud that covers my motor was just thrown in the back of my vehicle along with the skid cover that goes on the under carriage. then I looked under the hood and also noticed my nice air filter cover was nowhere to be found. And the check engine light was never even fixed, so now I have to pay someone else to fix that. And last of the bigger idiotic crap was they took a half a full tank of gas. So all of this BS cost me 2000 dollars to boot. I would NOT recommend this place to a room full of criminals!! They suck. Worst service ever in my entire life. They should be ashamed of themselves. I miss you Jim Whyte and your kind and respectful service.....

I…read morewas told by a major auto dealer repair shop that my rack and pinion needed to replaced after they had just replaced the steering column. I was already in $600 for the steering column, which did not fix the clunking noise coming from the front end. They told me for another $1300 I needed to replace the rack and pinion. They were supposedly discounting the $600 I already put into the steering column. Basically a $2,000 job. Well, wrong diagnosis! The team at Taber said I just needed to replace the sway bar bushings. I told them to go ahead and replace the stabilizer arms while they were in there. My RAV 4 has 152K+ miles, so might as well for an extra $100 bucks. The cost of the repair was $330--compare that to $2,000 for a misdiagnosed repair. I am also getting the $600 refunded after contacting the repair shop on the original work. Thank you Taber Team and Steve. Fair, honest and reasonable. They have a new customer and I recommend this shop for your repairs or especially second opinions--it could save you big money!

Staff is pleasant and helpful and, once you're a regular customer and they know you, go above and beyond. Even better they'll give you good advice that will ultimately save you money. I later called again and explained that I took it elsewhere where they told me that the valve stem had been damaged. He asked "why did you take it somewhere else?" then "have a good day sir" and hung up on me. This issue required me to walk one mile to my home late at night in February, another mile up hill the following day, cost for tow, and the cost for an extra repair. Bruce's Pit Stop told me that topping fluids is not included in an oil change, which is unheard of. Terrible shop.
