Great place for sushi and good atmosphere that is quiet enough to meet friends at and talk. While they do have other Asian cuisine on the menu, I have really only ordered the Chinese and Japanese food, avoiding some of the other menu items my palate just isn't refined or adventurous enough for. The staff are always friendly whether I am there for carry-out or to dine in. I can customize my sushi for my own liking versus being stuck with the menu item as it is written. So, pretty much, I hate Avocado. The hostess knows this because I am there so much. But I can get my rolls without the avocado without complaint and substitute something else in its place. As far as what I get for customized rolls, I pay approximately as much here for a simple roll as I would for a similar item at the grocery sushi stand. The quality at Ronin is all-around far better. The one thing I don't recommend is driving to far with the hot food like general Tso's or Sesame Chicken. The heat did weird things to the food. I have eaten the same dish as a dine-in and it was marvelous. Just the right amount of sauce on the meat and the veggies were properly steamed and still crunchy. Taking the same dish home was a completely different experience. Either the over abundance of sauce killed it for me or the overdone steamed veggies that were in the package for my long drive home. The sushi travels better. I like the staff. The hostess is a very nice person every visit I am there, which was as much as 3 nights one week. This is worth the visit. I love my regular sushi place that I reviewed before but when working in Dublin, I don't always have the time or energy to go out of my way to get there. At least now I have found a second place here I can visit. They advertise in a sign on the front door they have free WiFi. I have never been able to access it on any visit. Others I know have accessed it from the bar next door so maybe it is a hit-or-miss. But there are 3 shops right there with public WiFi and a hotel. Not a big deal. The listing that this is private parking for the location is also not correct. The parking here is split between the strip of shops there. read more

This is the best Sushi I've had in Columbus. Lots of varieties, great drinks, several non sushi Thai options, and great atmosphere. Service is great and efficient. Wish they had a location in Powell! I've had both takeout and ate in the restaurant and their menu and food is always consistent and delicious! read more

Robin happened to be near the hotel I was staying at, and based on the reviews I decided to try it. I had the Baja Roll and Dancing Roll. The Baja Roll was good, but the jalapeño overwhelmed the dish a bit. I liked the Dancing Roll - but felt the quality of the Surimi could be better. Both were beautifully prepared and overall the flavors good. read more

Ronin Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Dublin, Ohio

Good not great. While in Ohio for business I had an endless craving for fish and since my hotel was right next door I chose to give this little place a shot. Parking is fairly limited; however, lucky for me I did not need to worry about that as I just walked on over. The staff was average, no greeting when I entered, no recommendations, no follow up if I had questions. I ordered a roll and one side dish. Took about 10 minutes to get my food. The food in general was ok. Again definitely not anything special... Coming from the West coast though I do not think many places especially the mid-west could match the freshness of fish that I am accustomed to receiving at Sushi restaurants. All in all this quick bite was able to do its job of satiating my need for sushi; however, if I am ever back in Columbus, OH I would definitely Uber to some of the other sushi places in town. **I was too lazy to Uber from my hotel after a long day of work lol read more

Delicious sushi, great portions and a lot of options! Though this location is pretty small I've never had an issue sitting down. I haven't been here when the patio is open so I'm looking forward to trying it. They have Groupons frequently so if you're not positive, buy one and check this place out! read more

Ronin Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Dublin, Ohio

This place was a good deal. Came here on a Saturday for lunch visiting my boyfriend. fast service and pleasant . I had the sushi lunch special and it was plenty of food. The the sushi was good quality. We also ordered the Thai basil chicken and the pepper steak. Both had good flavor and fresh vegetables. But the quality of the chicken and the beef were low. Both u could tell were from the fatty low grade part of the meat. So all in all I would say it's a good place for a good deal, epically for sushi, during their lunch special. I would be willing to go back and try them again read more

Moved from DC to Columbus and this is my new favorite sushi spot! The rolls are big and very affordable. They have so many great options time pick from that it makes it hard to chose! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good sushi recommendation. read more

Amazing! This is one of my favorite sushi spots in Columbus. The environment isn't super fancy but the sushi is always SUPER fresh and very good! Love the Rainbow Roll and Big Ronin. And they have amazing General Tso's Chicken too :-) read more

It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. First time trying sushi here and ordered a medley of raw specialty rolls. If you are a person who has had sushi many times with high expectations, this place isn't for you. If you like American style rolls with lots of rice you'll like here. I just prefer rolls that have fresher ingredients, smaller rolls where rice isn't the star of the show, and authentic menu. I haven't tried their non-sushi menu items so I can't review those ones. read more

Best Asian fusion lunch in Dublin. Never been for dinner. Sushi is top notch but other Asian dishes are very good as well. Dine-in experience is great but carry out nearly as good. read more

This was my first time to this restaurant since recently moving to the area of Columbus/Dublin, Ohio. I was skeptical about sushi in the Midwest versus where I previously lived in New York but I can honestly say this place surprised me! The portions were a really good size and the quality was very good. The staff is very attentive and the side dishes were very good as well. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for sushi or Japanese cuisine in the area. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because I wish they had an all you can eat option. But other than that I was very pleased with this restaurant! Thank you again for the experience. read more

This is one of my favorite Sushi spots. I am gluten free and they have a Gluten Free soy sauce bottle all you have to do is ask. Now, every time I come in they place it on my table automatically. They are a family owned business and always greet you with a smile. Their sushi rolls are fresh and made when you order. I love this place. Happy hour runs but one get one half off 3:30-6:30 Monday -Friday and the on Saturday and during lunch hours of the week their rolls are 2 for 7.99 and 3 for 10.99 11:30 am-3:30. During the dinner time after 6 they offer free edamame which is served hot and sea salt. Prices are fair and reasonable and the service is phenomenal. I will do business again! read more

If I weren't here for happy hour, I'd probably go 3 stars. It's not bad, it's just not great, "traditional" sushi. But, if you're here for HH, it's a solid 4-5 star joint. Holy happy hour. Apparently, as long as you get there before happy hour is over (6:30) you get it. Don't quote me on that. But, we got there at 6:25, and got $4 martinis & 1/2 priced rolls until we left at 8:15. The martinis were good; I didn't have one but my coworker had multiples. The rolls were also good; this isn't your "traditional" sushi place; they placed a lot of their focus on specialty, AKA "American" rolls. They even had something along the lines of a buffalo chicken roll. ! I generally judge a place by their chirashi. The assortment was very good, as they didn't have the crappy shrimp & krab (I HATE when places do that to me) & the slices were appropriate. The fish wasn't top quality though, but it also wasn't junk, either. All in all, I'll definitely be back here. read more

Of all the Japanese restaurants I have been to, this is my favorite place for sushi, and it is damn addicting. Now granted, sushi is the only thing I have had, but the quality has been so consistently great that I am sure to give the rest of the menu a chance. The building itself has some great things going for it, one being the relatively small space, which manages to give a more intimate feeling, while not being claustrophobic. It is also simply, but tastefully, decorated, and overall is very quiet, which all adds up to being able to enjoy people's company or to reflect on your own thoughts (if that is what you do when you go out to a restaurant). Of course, being so small unfortunately means it has a pitifully small parking lot to go along with it, but that is to be expected. Over the course of both visits, I have had the Miso Soup, the Unagi Maki roll, the Futo Maki roll, the Yellowtail Roll, and the Tai nigiri. To put it simply, it was amazing. The rolls held very well together, and the fish was very mild and had a perfect texture, which also follows suit for the Tai. On a special side note, the Miso Soup here is outstanding, and at the price it is at, I would (should) buy it in obscene amounts. Perhaps even concerning amounts. I foresee a possible addiction in the future. Overall, when a comfortable ambiance, great food, and generous lunch specials are combined, it results in a great experience, as well as a restaurant that I am sure to come back to. read more

This place may be the second best sushi in Cbus. No one will likely ever top my beloved Akai Hana, but this place is awfully close. The location is strange: it's nestled in a strip mall behind a strip mall across from a real mall. (Strip malls are pretty common in Dublin, but this russian doll of a location is a bit much.) The space itself is actually small, and strangely shaped, with lots of corners to tuck tables and make it seem much cozier than it might otherwise be. The sushi was great - inventive and plentiful specialty rolls, with delicious basic rolls. The fish tasted fresh and firm, the rice was nice (!) and the sauces were just right. Everything was reasonably priced too - finding a rainbow roll under $10 can sometimes be difficult, but Ronin has it and it's done well. Bottom line: Skip Mr. Sushi and head one more exit south for a much better experience. read more

There are two things a restaurant must have - great food and consistency, this place has both. This is my go to place for Sushi, I live and work a mile away, and am there atleast once a week. Their lunch specials are great, their thai curries are pretty good, entrees are great, sushi is awesome... Hmmm I pretty much love everything on their menu.. I am going to review a few of my favs.. Appetizers: Great shumai, fresh and refreshing, their summer rolls are great with a thai curry sauce, Tuna tataki is as good as it gets. Salad: Their house salad is pretty good, my favorite is the Kani Avocado salad, very artistic presentation with the crab salad inside the avocado and fresh mixed greens with a sweet vinaigrette. Soups: Good wonton soup, great hot & sour, but my favorite is their Thai hot & sour soup with two giant shrimp waiting at the bottom :) they have a good tom kha kai as well but its a little too mild for me.. Entrees: Love their jalapeno shrimp/beef, great penang curry, thai basi shrimp/beef, flavorful fried rice, my friends like their other mild entrees like mongolian beef, ronin delight etc.. Sushi: Finally what they are really good for :) Love all their specialty rolls, my favorite is the baja roll and the Hawaiian roll, their other rolls are awesome as well, I have never been disappointed with the sushi here If you love sushi, you will love this place, always consistent..... can't wait to go back!!!! read more

We opted for some sushi on late Sunday night and decided to come here for the first time. The decor is quite nice (although we were wearing jeans and didn't feel out of place), and they have a cute space for outdoor seating as well. They gave us complementary edamame, and although it was a bit overcooked and oversalted, it was free, and it was still pretty good. Water refills were slooooow. We opted to order the sushi and sashimi boat for 2. This came with miso soup for the both of us. Not too bad. The seaweed was a bit chewier than I'd like, but the tofu and the broth tasted very nice. Now, onto the sushi. No complaints about the actual sushi on the boat (rainbow roll and tuna roll). There was a bit more sashimi than sushi, or so it seemed to me. I eat my sashimi and sushi with no soy sauce and no wasabi, so the freshness of the fish is paramount, since no other flavors are involved. Definitely not the freshest fish I've ever had...but not old, either. Sort of in the middle. On the plus side, along with the boat came a martini glass that had sashimi on it, and we quickly realized that underneath the sashimi was a seaweed octopus salad that was quite refreshing and tasty. 3 stars because this place is pretty much indistinguishable (price, service, and food wise) from most other sushi places I've been to here in Columbus. read more

I never really like giving a place a bad review, so I generally just don't do it. However, when you are spending the type of money that you are on sushi, I feel like I would want to be well informed when choosing a place. I'm not too sure why there are so many great reviews, and maybe it's because I'm on the side of a "sushi snob," (I mean I like my sushi and I eat it really often...so my standards are high.) Anyways, the spicy tuna was not spicy at all, had some type of sweet taste to it. The other specialty roll I ordered which was the Hawaii roll, was a bit too fishy for me (so I know it's not as fresh as it could be). The sushi and sashimi dinner was fine. The pieces were large and tasted better than the rolls. The sushi was decently sized, which was a plus, but the flavor was just lacking. For this price, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I'm amazed there are good reviews for this restaurant. My fiance and I just moved in the area and I love sushi, so we gave it a try. I had found a coupon in the Entertainment Book as well. The place was pretty empty. There seemed to be only one waitress and it took her 35 minutes to take our order. The drinks were few and far in between the meal. I started out with the tofu Pad Thai.. it was awful. It was a sickly combination of sweet and bland and a very small portion from any other Pad Thai I've seen. My fiance ordered the Ronin special that was supposed to come with an assortment of meats. It had 2 small pieces of chicken, a piece of beef, and a few shrimp. We were not very happy, and the waitress did not offer any solution when I explained that was unsatisfactory. We decided to also order 2 standard sushi rolls since they had a happy hour of buy one, get one half off. The sushi was average with a very small amount of fish. Nothing to write home about. But then came the fun part... We get the check, the waitress refused to let us use the coupon for $5 off an entree because the sushi happy hour was applied to the check. I told her before we even ordered the entrees and sushi that we had the coupon and she said there was not an issue, and took the coupon from me. Now when I explain that there was not an issue before, the waitress was very rude with me and kept pushing the check towards me. She kept telling me she can't take the coupon and started getting very loud. Mind you, the rolls we ordered were $5 each, so my giant happy hour discount was a grand $2.50. I did not mind the inability to use the coupon, it was just her behavior on top of an already awful meal that just pushed me over the top. I paid for the meal and will never go there again. read more

Meal (*****): I had the "Heaven & Hell Roll," followed by Squid Nigiri. Never had either, and they did not disappoint. So much great food for so little price! Ambiance(****): It's a grab bag. This is my 2nd favorite sushi in the city, and that's saying something because I thought nothing could compete with Akai Hana!!! Ronin Sushi has some of the best, most creative rolls ever! I'm in love with the firecracker roll. It's just as good to go too!!! read more

Was craving sushi and was looking for delivery through 2nd party. I have never tried this restaurant. The menu was fabulous with so many choices. I am new to sushi so I have a limited knowledge of the various choices. I chose a Hawaiian shrimp fried rice, crunchy California roll and a shrimp cucumber avocado roll. Both rolls I have had at another restaurant. They were just terrible! Both made with seaweed which I don't believe should be. The Hawaiian rice just had a terrible flavor. I shared my meal with 2 others and they agreed with me. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant. read more

One day, out of the blue, I got a horrible craving for tuna. Like really strong. I don't know why. Luckily, I was in the Tuttle Mall area and Ronin was nearby. Nothing like some maki or nigirizushi to quench a tuna craving, after all. I didn't want to spend a fortune, but also was very hungry and wanted something more than just the sushi, so I ended up getting a tuna roll and some "tropical" fried rice with chicken. Overall, A-Ok is the perfect way to describe them. The sushi itself was fine. It hit my craving. But it didn't have a great deal of flavor, tasting more of the rice than the fish. The fried rice, though listed as "spicy", was also quite mild in both heat and flavor, and a bit oily. I did love the raisins and nuts in the mix. The chicken though was the typical "Chinese restaurant chicken" which always seems to have a slightly rubbery, oily texture. I think I would suggest ordering a different type of protein, or even just go vegetarian. I must say that the edamame that I was served gratis (happy hour?) were very good - heavily salted and tender. Service was also pleasant- polite, attentive, and efficient. Food came out fast too, even the sushi roll. Prices are are pretty typical of Asian Fusion places, and if you get a lot of sushi or appetizer add ons, the price will go up a lot. However, for just basic Chinese or Thai dishes, the price isn't too bad, and if my fried rice is anything to go by, the portions are good sized. Overall, I wouldn't mind going back at some point and trying something else on the menu... maybe the Chinese or Thai dishes, and perhaps a more elaborate sushi roll. read more

We got take out yesterday. My husband asked what I ordered since the bottom of the bag was hot. As stated in a previous review the restaurant put miso soup at the bottom and our sushi on top. Not good. My husband said the fish in his chirashi was warm, the rice wasn't seasoned, and it had a fishy smell. My maki dinner combo A wasn't very good either. I also got a strong fishy smell as I opened my container. Maybe eating in is different or we ordered on an off day but we won't do take out from here again. read more

The sushi is tasty and the service was quick. I had a Mia roll and it was very good. I do wish their specialty rolls had more fresh fish options. There seemed to be a lot of crab and shrimp based rolls on the menu. As a dairy free restricted eater it was difficult to find a specialty roll that had fresh fish without cream cheese. I did love the happy hour special which was buy one roll and get a second at half price. Overall I enjoyed the experience. I think the sushi I have had at Tensuke Market has this place beat out (I have not yet been to their sit down restaurant Akai Hana), but it was still a pleasant experience. read more

Upon entering Ronin, you first see a large sushi bar. We received prompt service and immediately got preferential seating on a Friday night. We were seated next to a beautiful Asian silk screen. The room temperature was toasty and comfortable, which always makes for an enjoyable meal. Our waitress was polite and prompt, but not overbearing. She got us our drinks and watched us from a distance to know when it was appropriate to ask us if we were ready to order. We each ordered a sushi roll. We got a great deal on our rolls, as Ronin has an amazing dinner special that lasts until later in the evening. We received perfectly salted edamame to munch on while we waited for our sushi rolls, which did not take long to arrive at all. When the food arrived, we were impressed with its presentation. The rolls were served on simple white plates, perfectly drizzled with sauces. The rolls were a great temperature-- warm, but not hot. They gave us just enough food to feel full, but not stuffed. The payment process was not rushed, but very relaxed and low pressure. We paid and lingered for a few minutes, and we did not feel as though we needed to hurry to leave, as is the case with most restaurants these days. All in all, we had a great Ronin experience. We would give Ronin a 5/5, but the one thing we disliked was that the seats are so close together. Although the restaurant is definitely in a small space, we could hear all four conversations around us from other diners, and it did not make for a private dining experience. Other than that, we would recommend Ronin to anyone, especially for their dinner special, which cannot be beat! read more

I wanted to experience a night of authentic and exotic Asian foods. I decided Wednesday would be a good day to try it. You know, mix it up a little in the middle of the week! First off, it took me several hours to find this place. I couldn't figure out this new GPS unit I got. It turned out it was out of batteries. So I only took off one star. I tried the Pyramid of Egypt Roll, what a thrill!! I also got a spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura, spider roll, and eel. Someone there should really tell you that is too much to eat by yourself. I asked a man sitting at the table next to me if he wanted to finish mine, but he was sort of rude to me. Like I said, I still only took off one star. They didn't have egg rolls which is crazy, they must be modern. read more
