Anyway got to appliances and spoke to 3 staff members looking for the appliance guy. Found him sitting behind some boxes and did not wish to rise to show me anything. He would look up models for ranges on his computer but had no interest with actual sales. Took my business to Best Buy. Happy with purchase at Best Buy. I picked up a few items at Rona Crowfoot. I asked for a bag I was told no they do not provide bags. I asked why. The clerk started to make fun of me. I went to my vehicle and I found a bag since I needed the items I already picked up. This is the last time I will ever shop at Rona. From now on I shop at Home Depot where, surprisingly they do have bags and the service is respectful. read more

When we moved here in 2009 I hated this store as I had a hard time to find what I was looking for. I was more comfortable a Home Depot. After a while I learned to appreciate this particular store. They carry the brands I prefer and staff is helpful and friendly if you are lucky to find them (yes, some times it takes a while until you find help). One day I had a bad experience when I bought a power tool. When I opened the box at home I figured out that it must have been a return from someone else. In this particular case it was a battery driven tool and everything was in mint condition (obviously unused) except the 2 batteries (they are $100 each!). They were of the wrong type and worn out. I immediately called them and they replaced the batteries with brand new ones without questions but please check your returns before you re-stock them for someone else to purchase. read more

I recently stumbled into this Rona, and found it to be a pleasurable experience. Although George D. is most definitely right in that there was not enough staff around even during my visit, I had the good fortune of tracking someone down and they proved to be an absolute expert. This Rona carries just about everything you would need to putter around the house or the garden, and you know what ROCKS? The fact that they have a Tim Horton's on-site! Seriously! Buy some coffee, buy some Tim Bits, and peruse through the many, MANY aisles of Rona! read more

The Rona at Crowfoot may as well be a ghost town, as you're more than likely to make it in and out of the store without ever seeing an employee working on the floor. It's truly impossible to get information or assistance. If you know what you need and you know exactly where to find it, shopping at Rona isn't so bad. If you can get the product at Walmart, do it (I recently bought a ladder at Rona for $41 and later found out it's $33 at Walmart; other products are similarly-priced)- otherwise try to get it price-matched (a service they do offer). There's a Tim Horton's on-site (weird), and they also give Air Miles. Nothing about Rona is spectacular, but aside from the lack of employees there's nothing terrible about it either. read more

Update: May 2011. Incredible! I no longer have any complaints about Rona. It is truly a pleasure to recommend this store now. When I go there now, I am almost always approached by a Rona person who wants to help me find what I need, and they do. Another really nice touch is the new coffee shop; called Choices I believe. What an improvement. Must be the YELP influence. Update: November 3rd, 2010 Well, what do you know, the Rona guys must be reading YELP. Their customer service attitude has improved dramatically since I wrote the original review below. More cashiers, more people on the floor asking if they can help, more smiles and always a friendly face welcoming us to the store. Nice work Rona. I will up my rating to 4 stars from 3 as a result. In my mind you're out in front of Home Depot now. Fix that mess at the fluorescent fixtures rack and I will give you 5. Original Review: Well I'm glad Rona has a store near me but it would be a gross distortion to say the store was a pleasure to shop at. There is never enough staff around and the idea that we do-it-yourselfers can get good advice here is 90% false. Almost any other hardware and building supply store can better the Crowfoot store's performance. It's just poorly managed for whatever reason. I suspect head office myopia. There are plenty of signs the staff is stressed. Just walk into the Totem store in Bowness sometime, then go directly to Rona to compare. You'll see, it's night and day. At Totem they greet you at the door with a smile and a hello, they all have a little jump in their step etc. And, you rarely have to line up to check out at Totem. At Rona you always wait to pay. Notice I did not make a comparison to Home Depot. They are only slightly better than Rona, but Totem is much better. C'mon Rona we need you to live up to that great TV advertising. This company absolutely made my house beautiful. This is my go-to place for renovations and stuff similar to that. This company is very responsible and caring for customers. By accident, they overcharged the tile flooring that I bought. After talking to them, they took the time to investigate the issue and returned money back to me. What they're good at is building trust and making customers feel welcomed and comfortable. Big shoutout to Lowe's for making my house beautiful! We got everything from Lowe's. read more

Its been in transition all year as it converts into a Lowes. The problem is the in-stock selection is poor and the customer service is non-existent. I live in the neighborhood, but I've wasted so much time this year trying to give them a chance, I've given up and just take the longer drive to Home Depot instead now. read more

No supply of High Efficiency Hot Water Tank T and P valves. Staff was useless, and not even aware of the differences in new equipment - and just any old T and P valve will not fit into a High Efficiency tank. We're moving into 2011, not 1911! read more

I bought a shower kit set with mixing valve and cartridge from the Crowfoot store, Calgary. After installing the mixing valve, I learned from another plumbing supply store that the mixing valve is an old model that is not produced anymore and no current cartridges would fit. I had to make extra trips to change the cartridge, return the set to Rona and get a new set somewhere else. I also had to pay extra $400 for plumbing fees because of their mistakes. I will never buy anything from Rona again!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more
