Whether your child has no musical background or is musically inclined, Empire will not only guide the students with their musical abilities but also help build their confidence and enhance their social skills. The students are engaged in learning how to sing, dance, and act on stage and the result is phenomenal! Students will be able to experience, firsthand, the work that goes on to put on a musical production including seeing how the set comes alive with props and costumes. They will also learn how to prepare for roles beginning with auditions and rehearsals. It's really a fun process to watch a production from start to finish for the adults as it is for the children. Becky and Linda are so great with the kids, providing them with a positive atmosphere and challenging each one of them to do their best! I had the opportunity to watch a few shows already and every child just shines on stage! You can tell they love being a part of Empire! It's pretty amazing what they do here. And I've enjoyed every single performance I've attended. Thank you, Empire!

We have been very happy clients of Kiddo for over seven years. My eldest and youngest take piano…read morelessons and my middle child does voice and guitar. Kiddo is an establishment which prides itself in building strong foundational music education. They don't just want to show kids how to use musical instruments. Their mission runs deeper than that. They foster a profound love and appreciation of music at the fundamental level. Because of Kiddo, my children have a proper musical education which informs many parts of their lives. The front desk staff of Kiddo is so kind and professional and Miss Ashley, the owner, has selected an impressive faculty of teachers and artists who are respectful of the children and excellent at communicating with them. My middle child was born with a natural singing ability but her teachers, Miss Rudie and Miss Vicky, have helped her develop and protect her voice, ensuring she can use and enjoy it well into her later years. She has performed in competitions and recently did an open mic event at another music school and it was clear that her excellent training set her apart from the children of that school. Kiddo takes the abilities of every child seriously and gives them an enduring musical foundation. My youngest and eldest take piano lessons with Miss Fanny who is a warm and exceptionally talented teacher who has brought out the best in my kids. They also have a weekend art program which two of my children are enrolled in. It is a class they look forward to every week and never want to miss. I'm grateful Kiddo, a highly professional and substantial music and art school, exists in our community. Money and time well spent.

We signed up for singing lessons with Dr. Batista's studio. Right off the bat, we noticed that Dr…read more Batista herself was the one replying to our questions which at first, we thought was pretty awesome since you're speaking directly to the owner. After speaking to her more on the phone and via text, we noticed that she came off a little rude, but hey we chalked it up to just being new to us and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward, lessons have started and her teacher (Karina) was a blast to work with. We did find it rather interesting that towards the end of the lesson, Batista would always barge in the room to bark at Karina that time was almost up. Again, maybe it was a fluke we thought. Time and time again, we had these rude occurences with Batista. After about two months of lessons, we let Batista and Karina know that we'd be leaving for vacation for a week and that we would not be doing the lesson that week. We returned to an irate Batista demanding payment for the next month's lesson and that we would have to incur a late fee in addition to missing a class. It was almost as if she never knew we were gone after we clearly had told her. What's worse is that Batista said that we had not returned her emails...well, of course, we didn't, we were on vacation! Plus we thought we had left everything in order prior to leaving. After returning from our trip, we had just had it with Batista's lack of respect, and simply lack of tact when speaking with her clients, so we canceled our lessons with her studio. We gave her honest feedback and let her know that the teachers that she employs our GREAT, but unfortunately the customer service is TERRIBLE. We suggested that she get help with the "front desk" and let someone else talk to the customers because it's clear that wasn't one of her strong points. Anyhow, there's plenty of music schools out there where you can go.... we all deal with enough rude people in this world and the last thing we need is to deal with one more around something that's supposed to be a pleasurable hobby/education. I feel bad for Karina and the others working there. They deserve a much better business owner! Unfortunately, Batista lets her pride get in the way of what her business is capable of. She's educated and will let you know it. (Don't believe me? It's the first thing she mentions in her Yelp business bio... ). Being educated doesn't mean you have the right to be rude to your customers. If you're considering this place for your child/significant other/friend, spare the abuse and look elsewhere!
