    Romaine and white asparagus.

I can't say enough about what a gem of an eatery this place is. Ron Gastropub came highly recommended by some friends with excellent taste, so I knew it would be a winner. It exceeded my every expectation. Incredibly cool vibe. World-class service from every staff member, from hostess, to server to bartender. And the food, oh the food... worthy of a Michelin-rated chef. We dined on the white asparagus, romaine salad, lobster and spareribs. Every dish was executed to perfection. Super creative and beyond delicious. The menu changes with local availability, but I'm confident that anything offered will be outstanding, so make a reservation and go!

Enjoy your magical evening at Ron Gastrobar. When researching places to eat in Amsterdam, Ron Gastrobar didn't pop up and I'm surprised. We only found it because a local brought us there. It's a Michelin star restaurant and deserves it. I checked later and it has $$$$, I felt the prices were reasonable and those dollar signs shouldn't stop you. First, we enjoyed some "snacks" appetizers and then chose the 4 course chef's menu. I'm so glad we did, each course was beautifully presented and was delicious. They even accommodated my lactose free dietary restrictions. I loved they served our food on traditional Dutch Delft Blue plates. We lost track of time during our dining experience and spent almost 3 hours there.

I was in Amsterdam for my sister's birthday and we wanted to go to a nice restaurant that would give us a great dining experience. Ron Gastrobar came highly suggested and we decided to go to the michelin star restaurant. Reservations fill up quick so beware. I believe they open up reservations a month at a time. The ambiance is gorgeous from the outside walking in and the hostess was very kind and friendly guiding us to our seat. Caviar and eggs - 10/10. Definitely recommend! I don't even like eggs but something about the way they made it and paired with the caviar was just very delicious. Ribeye steak - 9/10. They literally came out with the raw steak to show us the portion size which was very helpful so we got one to share since it was so big. The steak had amazing flavor and we got it medium. It was a little chewy however. Ron's surprise - 10/10. I had no idea what I was getting but I was pleasantly surprised! Inside the chocolate egg was peach flavored yolk and mousse. Very creative and I love how the yolk could be "popped" like the real one. They also ended our meal with a tiny ice cream drumstick which was free and really cute. Overall, I would go back and I highly recommend this place for a special occasion or if you just want to feel fancy because this place is not cheap!

Ron Gastrobar is a one star Michelin restaurant in Amsterdam. It seems like there are a few locations around the city, but we went to the one on Sophialaan near Vondelpark because it was the closest location to my friend's apartment. From the minute we walked into the restaurant we could tell that the service here was warm and friendly. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good recommendations in terms of what to order and how much. We ordered about four dishes between the two of us - the steak tartare, spare ribs, frites, and pasta. We also ordered two glasses of champagne each and the bill turned out to be around 200 euros, which was not bad at all considering the quality and quantity. The restaurant is beautiful, but not super fancy and was perfect for what we were looking for because we wanted to dine at a place that did casual fine dining. Would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back the next time I'm in Amsterdam.

One of the fancy restaurants by Ron, this is a French cuisine place. We came here for the lunch deal were you select 2 dishes and a dessert. The food was beautifully presented, though portions were definitely small. The highlights for me was the more exotic veal brain and the spare ribs. The signature dessert surprise egg was beautiful and tasted delicious. Wine was expensive, at €35 for a bottle. Service was very slow and also not very responsive. Overall, great that you can sit outside in the good weather, the food was tasty but not worth coming on a repeat visit for me.

Ron gastrobar does justice to the Michelin Star. Extensive menu for vegetarians. The surprise egg dessert is pretty good. Well balanced modern flavors and prompt service. Lunch was great!

Tonight was the perfect time to give them a try. I had a dinner with two friends who are not afraid to share and try new dishes and I did not to venture out into the Centrum. We made a reservation, and for Friday night the place at 19:30 was empty. We were seated promptly, and that's where the service ended :) We ordered the oysters, sparkling wine for the appetizers. Followed by 6 other dishes (starter size) which surprised us with the presentation and the flavor composition, especially the risotto! Kitchen staff made a huge effort with the menu. My San Francisco / Los Angeles foodie friends were impressed with the quality and creativity, but WTF is wrong with the service?! We couldn't order a follow-up wine, we got zero attention to our table, we had no interaction with the waiter what so ever, and he gave us this loud long exhales every time we asked for anything. We laughed, but it was uncomfortable, and I felt bad that I brought my friends here, I felt embarrassed. I overcame it - food was worth it. But if anyone from the management team is ever reading those reviews - please, train your staff, you could have much better foot traffic if you trained your people to be good servers. Dinner for 3, with no tip, (because service sucked!) was about 300 euro

We were here with friends and opted for the chef's menu which is 4 courses paired with wine. The "mouse bouche" was a refreshing salmon puree and white citrusy foam. For the first course we had brown shrimps, which is a local small shrimp that tasted very meaty and delicious, served with fresh King crab, sesame seeds and citrus. The entire combination worked very well, it was paired with a white Savion Blank. Second course was a fried sea bass on brioche bread, served with Bauchat mussels and fennel, he fish was very fresh and the fennel added to that spring sensation of freshness in your mouth. Third course served with red wine, medium body consisted of "Poulet Noir", translated black chicken with crispy skin, confit stew of the leg, open ravioli, truffle, lime and smoked butter sauce, very tasty, an amazing experience, my taste buds were very happy. For the last course a sparkly sweet wine served with a trio of Tanka bean, chocolate and banana, whipped, foamed and crushed, not sure what the exact technique was but it was a very nice light dessert. The staff was new and not aware of the chef menu and wine that needs to be served with each dish. They brought someone from the kitchen to walk us through the menu. Unfortunately the chef was not there however we met one of the Sous chefs, he was very pleasant.
