You do have to make reservations as this place is popular and very small. I believe they have six counter spots and maybe eight back counter spots. If you are a bit bigger or have trouble sitting on stools, this place may be a challenge for you, but I highly recommend giving it a go. Along with four plates of fish and chips for our family, (we chose Plaice as it's a fish that we are not able to get where we live) we also got some appetizers, the dressed crab on toast and the smoked haddock croquettes, both of which were absolutely fantastic. I'm not an expert on fish and chips but I can say that what we had here was incredibly flavorful, very light, and not greasy. Usually after eating fish and chips I need a 4-hour nap but after eating these fish and chips, though very filling, I was still able to go about my sightseeing duties for hours on end. As I said before, the staff here seem very keen on doing a good job but are also very personable and knowledgeable. Sitting at the main bar top, we were able to talk to the two that were working and honestly had a lot of laughs and great conversation which really made our experience quite pleasurable.
