The portion was good, the fish was fresh like just off the boat, the batter light and mildly seasoned, and no disagreeable flavors from the frying oil. Unfortunately the batter was inconsistent: thin and crunchy in places, thicker and soggy in others. The fries were just ok, starchy. So overall only average. I had to try mushy peas again, just my second time. They tasted and looked just like they sound: mashed up green peas. No mint flavoring added this time. Fine for what they were, but I just don't get it. I think I prefer coleslaw with my fish&chips but I don't think it's offered here. Perhaps coleslaw is an American thing? So only average overall. But I'd consider returning if I wanted a quick takeout lunch as the other restaurants in the area were more formal sit-down places.
