Welcome to Gear - San Diego…read more Gear carries a variety of leather, neoprene, sports wear, street gear and various things. Great harness, cuffs, assorted colors and even an area to relax a little. The location in Palm Springs is one I find myself in quite a bit when I'm in PS, but San Diego was another home for me for many years and finally returning I had to stop in. My buddy Kevin normally works here but was ironically in LA #FreakyFriday My boyfriend and I stopped in to browse, possibly purchase, but I have quite a bit of gear and things, as does he. I didn't plan for extra things in my suitcase or bags we brought down, but do I wish I ever did, great deals and sales, not to mention brands like Cellblock 13, Locker Gear, Nasty Pig and Mr. S to name a few. Solid customer service, very casual and easy going. Felt like they wanted to let us explore, but very much were there to help if we had any questions. Great local magazines and happenings display in certain part of the store, makes it feel like a neighborhood most, but very streamline and more spacious than their PS store or even other shops close by. A fair variety of sizes, but even more accessible online. Mostly Small to X-Large, but some XX-Large in a few places and on the rack. Huge adult toys, personal care and accessories inventory. Easy parking on the street and in the area. Open daily from 11AM to 8PM One of the guys working even gave us a great brunch item recommendation for Great Maple nearby via their French Toast Logs. Thank you him! Kevin for always representing this place with amazing posts of lots of Gear gear and Gear overall, near and far. It's a great shop that's super supportive of every customer online as well as irl, not to mention their local fellow queer community. Definitely a fan of Gear Stores, but an instant fan of Gear - AFC aka SD.

There's fun stuff in every nook and cranny from cool tags, to pride flags, fun gifts to iconic messages, humor and expressions. Lots of clothing, caps, chains, accessories and identities. The service is 10/10, we got greeted like it was a party and we were invited first. And treated with kindness and empathy from the moment we walked in to our stroll out. Prices are reasonable, though some items can be a little more than average, but also competitive and also also you're also supporting and amazing small biz. Personal and sexual health care items, risk prevention items and unique finds for sure. Like many local shops in Hillcrest, Humanity stands with and supports all, but maybe even more so. I noticed so many great flyers, posters, and personal touches that echo San Diego. Love the novelty cards, wanted to get one for my guy for Valentines day since he enjoys playful humor, but he was right there!! Hoping to be back by pride in July and his birthday is around then so maybe I'll save that for then. Fun shirts, underwear and variety including a few bigger sizes that this bear is grateful for. Open as early as 10AM on weekends (Friday through Sunday) or by 11AM during the week (Monday through Thursday). Closing hours vary, from 8PM on Sundays only to 9pm (Monday through Thursday) to 10PM Friday and Saturday. Glad to see this store thriving and hope to stop in again to support and for that great service. And don't forget #QueerExistenceIsResistance :)

The t was a very busy Saturday but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted and told about a special promotion they were having and offered assistance for anything we needed. We came in already knowing what we were looking for but they were still able to provide us with great information to make some good choices for our visit. Throughout our entire visit, all of the associates were very attentive, friendly, and extremely helpful. They also let us know where we would be able to save money for our purchase. Despite how busy the store was, it was very clean and organized, and well stocked. Every associate that was working that day must be commended that day for their excellent service and this store deserves its flowers for being the epitome of top notch customer service. Thank you so much for making our visit so pleasant!

No greeting, no how can I help you or offer any promotions. Okay that's fine. After browsing a bit I had to go find her to ask for a dressing room. Took me to the dressing room didn't introduce herself or ask if I needed anything else and walked away. After trying my things on I walked to the register area and stood there a good three or four minutes as the employee folded clothes until I finally said I am ready to check out and I have an exchange. No friendliness just blah. Any other time so come up the ladies know me greet me ask how I am and offer anything they can do to help! One of the reasons I like and am loyal to the store.
