There's fun stuff in every nook and cranny from cool tags, to pride flags, fun gifts to iconic messages, humor and expressions. Lots of clothing, caps, chains, accessories and identities. The service is 10/10, we got greeted like it was a party and we were invited first. And treated with kindness and empathy from the moment we walked in to our stroll out. Prices are reasonable, though some items can be a little more than average, but also competitive and also also you're also supporting and amazing small biz. Personal and sexual health care items, risk prevention items and unique finds for sure. Like many local shops in Hillcrest, Humanity stands with and supports all, but maybe even more so. I noticed so many great flyers, posters, and personal touches that echo San Diego. Love the novelty cards, wanted to get one for my guy for Valentines day since he enjoys playful humor, but he was right there!! Hoping to be back by pride in July and his birthday is around then so maybe I'll save that for then. Fun shirts, underwear and variety including a few bigger sizes that this bear is grateful for. Open as early as 10AM on weekends (Friday through Sunday) or by 11AM during the week (Monday through Thursday). Closing hours vary, from 8PM on Sundays only to 9pm (Monday through Thursday) to 10PM Friday and Saturday. This store serves as a great place to see products in person and feel materials and try some clothes before you buy. It has a more pride/party feeling than the curated collection of leather and kink items at Gear down the street. Both stores serve a real important role in helping me find things I'm comfortable with in person before purchase. Storefronts are always better than online. read more

The service here is absolutely amazing! We try to stop by everytime we are in the area and everytime we end up buying something. Whether it be a sticker or jock we always come home with something fun. A week or so ago we came in after drinks at Bajas and had the best customer service. The whole interaction was kind and helpful. All questions were answered and we felt comfortable! The store has a variety of gear and clothing and so many novelty items! Prices are great too! They have the best lube I've ever tried- "Fuck Water" It does not sting like so many other lubricants do, and it is great for play with or without toys. 10/10 The staff is very helpful and they have tact and professionalism when discussing spicy things. read more

Found this shop on our walk back from the nearby Sunday Farmers Market. Store has a great selection and it's decorated well. Marty was helping us. He took the time to greet us, was available throughout our time there without being pushy salesman. Super friendly and personable which really made this visit stand out. I really enjoyed exploring HUMANITY! when I was in San Diego. The staff is always really friendly and always willing to help. I was even approached by staff members (both Eddie and Sean) when I was looking at certain products and they gave me their opinions and recommendations. They have pretty much all different types of products to help enhance sexual experiences. I saw candles, fans, jewelry, sandals, toys, kink gear, sexy clothes, t-shirts, books, wrapping paper, and much more! There's always something interesting in the store. They also have fun clothing optional shopping experiences that you can experience. You have to sign up for the private event. It was a lot of fun. Yay! Finally a fun LGBTQ boutique clothing and accessory store. We needed one in San Diego. I love their fun selection of graphic Tshirts. I bought 2 at their grand opening and wanted to buy more. The staff want you to have an enjoyable experience where you can fly your freak flag or just get something cute to go clubbing. My husband and I love this place. They have friendly service, great merchandise, and an awesome vibe. I love boutiques, so it's nice to get to walk into one with awesome people working there. Recently moved to San Diego from San Francisco and would hear about Humanity while our and about at the bars. I decided to stop in tonight for last minute Holiday gifts and had the pleasure to have Sean assist me with my findings. He was friendly, courteous and very welcoming especially after he discovered I was new to the area. Because of his stellar service, I'll be sure to come back and support this local business for gifts for myself as well as for my loved ones. I docked two stars because of his coworker. I didn't catch his name but he was a slim fellow wearing a kippah/headwear. Because of the pandemic, Humanity keeps the door and gate closed until an associate lets you inside the establishment. I stood outside the gate for a solid two minutes while said associate with headwear stood on the other side of the glass folding clothes. He glanced and continued to fold after making eye contact twice. Who knows? Maybe the gate locks from the inside and Sean was the only one with authority to grant access. Maybe he was having a bad day. Again, who knows?! It did leave me feeling judged and profiled. Sorry if I look intimidating/suspicious in my hoodie and mask. Hey, it's a chilly night. It's a pandemic. I'm a pedestrian. Other than the poor customer service from this gentleman, my time and money were well spent.
