Hope this place remains under the radar - no advertising, no coupons, only word of mouth. Speaking of mouth I dare say this pizza is the best you'll put there. It's high hydration, long fermentation dough produces a crust that is exceptionally light and airy with a real crunch. Paired with unique (for Sarasota) toppings and cooked in a special commercial oven in rectangular pans it really rivals the best of Rome. This traditional Pizza in Teglia is not cheap but it's head and shoulders above anything else you'll find in this area. read more

What delicious pizza. As a Chicago native, pizza is a favorite and I love sampling other pizza when I travel. This spot has great pizza. Delicious crust, just the right amount of topping and wonderful sauce! We will return! read more

Food is excellent! The owners are great people and always friendly to talk too! Tom and his wife do a great job! Always clean inside!

This new small restaurant/take out came highly recommended by good friends. They certainly lived up to their reputation, and I have to say they serve the finest pizza in Sarasota! Had six others over for dinner, served their pizza, And everybody raved. Some very small tables inside that would be a wonderful spot to catch a slice or two... Also serves wine and other drinks. ThisRestaurant is a welcome addition to our neighborhood, and it is definitely our "go to" pizza place! read more

Outstanding pizza. Thick but super light and crispy. Large selection of fresh toppings. Great very friendly people. Recommend stopping in for a casual lunch or dinner. read more

I haven't tasted this kind of Roman pizza before the crust is so light yet crispy and the toppings are made specifically in a special way over never seen before. It is so delicious and if you haven't been you have got to try! The owners have such a great story! Ask them, they are so friendly! Support local businesses! read more

The shop is very small so if you are worried about covid I would not recommend this spot. They are allowing people to dine in so there are tons of unmasked people. Also, the people working in the kitchen (which is open to the dining area) are not wearing masks. Very disappointed to see that after reading such fabulous reviews about the food. read more

Great pizza with very creative toppings. The dough is fluffy and crispy at the bottom . Highly recommend, friendly staff explained all the toppings and what makes their pizza better from the rest! read more

Just like the pizza in Rome! Loved every pizza we ordered, potato pesto was delicious and so different, the fresh roasted red peppers with sausage was a favorite. Over ordered but it traveled well and was just as good the next day. We will be back, hands down best pizza in Sarasot! read more

I don't believe I'll go anywhere else for Pizza!! A savory experience, deserving of a glass of wine. Fresh, all natural ingredients, the right combination of flavors and textures, a 96 hour fermentation process for the dough, light and crispy. Nothing canned or frozen. Creative play with ingredients and flavors, original to only their establishment. Carbonara pizza? Yes! FraDiavolo? Yes!...made with spicy banana peppers and Guanciale. They put their heart into every detail of what they do, down to the installed state of the art water filtration system. Thank you Tom and Wa for an unforgettable, true Roman style pizza experience! We will see each other again, very shortly! Happy New Year! Wishing you a prosperous future, and continued growth! Definitely stop or make a special trip for this one. It may tempt you to do a happy dance, or at the very least, you'll smile from the inside out. Enjoy! read more

Stopped in for pizza after reading the reviews. The 5 star rating is well deserved. The fabulous service matches the food! We tried the "traditional" cheese and pepperoni. Crispy crust surrounds a light airy dough. Topped with a light tomato sauce, perfectly topped with mozzarella and cup n char pepperoni! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the offerings!! They do sell by the slice if you can't decide which you would like to try. They also have a selection of wines to accompany your dinner. You will NOT be disappointed with a visit here!! PS. The place was the cleanest restaurant Ive ever been in. read more

This is the kind of undiscovered pizza joint that knows exactly what they do well. They make light, airy Sicilian slices, with fabulous, interesting ingredients that you would never think to order but are glad you did, run by a fascinating couple that knows the kind of music to play and the kind of hospitality to serve. Yes, you can get a beer with your slice, but it's going to be upscale, a Belgian ale or a battalion or German lager. The kids can go to town with Italian sodas and artisanal root beer and the vibe is casual but you leave feeling like you wished lingered longer. Tip: ask for the slices extra hot and order the house cab. And the price is right ! read more

Got take out here today as my first experience with them. Pizza was absolutely delicious. Pizza was ready exactly when they said. Place looks newly furnished and clean. Husband and wife owners friendly. Pizza is on the thick side but not doughy like the Sicilian style I have had elsewhere but rather quite light and chewy. Sauce was to die for. Toppings were extremely generous. A definite repeat for me. read more

I am a pizza fanatic and have also lived in Italy. RomanSQ has two of the nicest owners I have ever met and they make unbelievable pizza. I love trying all their varieties, but they have the best pepperoni pizza I have had in Florida. I have made going to Romansq a weekly ritual and my family craves it every week. read more

We tried RomanSQ on a recommendation of a friend and found it to be excellent--not your "normal" pizza place. Their pizzas are what I would describe as "artisan" in that they are based on a hand crafted dough that is thick and airy with a base crust that is crisp and chewy. Not being Italian we were surprised to learn that the pepperoni topping is not the meat variety we are used to but a sweet mild Italian pepper that goes well with sausage. They offer "normal" pepperoni but the sweet peppers are great. The owners are a delight and we are looking forward to returning soon. read more

Fantastic dough. Very crispy, and chewy even though the dough is thicker. Owners are very service oriented. Even during Covid, everything seemed so fresh, even delicate produce in the salads. Can't wait to ho back! read more

Been here a couple of times and will continue to frequent this establishment. Solid pizza, dough is great and toppings are outstanding.

Tom is disorganized with taking the orders. He forgot the pre-order of another party of more than three before us. They premake slices and they sit in the window to be chosen. There are slices that have been chosen in the same window, so it's confusing as to whats available for pre-made for slices. We selected from the window and from some pre-made that was finishing in the oven. Tom sold the one we selected in the oven to a later walk in. When paying he asked why one person had not eaten and I explained. He got upset and went to wash dishes and had his wife come out to ring us up. A bit more organizing would make all parties happier and less stressed. Consider ringing up the order when it's taken not later. 6/10 rating. read more

Great pizza in Gulf Gate! Crispy crust, airy dough and quality toppings - absolutely the best pizza we've had since moving to Sarasota. Keep in mind this is not ordinary pizza - it's extraordinary! If you've never tried Roman style pizza, now is your chance. read more

Most amazing pizza ever! The crust is amazing, and the toppings are spectacular! Highly recommend!

Customer service was great. Gentleman behind the counter was very nice and told us how the pizza is made. Pizza is only served square. 8-9.00 bucks per square but they are huge. Crust was very crispy and light. Love the fact the use filtered water to make the pizza. It really does make a difference. Inside space was cute and clean. I will def stop in again. read more

This is an incredible hidden gem. Really enjoyed the pizza (sauce, crust, cheese all came together incredible) and the people were fantastic. I'm from NY and this is some of the best pizza I've ever had. The dough takes 96 hours to cure so these people that complain that they only have a limited amount of pizza to go on the fly should stick with the chain garbage. Run, do not walk, to try the pizza at RomanSQ!! One reviewer called it a "work of art", and I agree. It is the very best pizza I've ever had, outside of Italy. This is the real deal, what every other American pizza should aspire to. I'm just sorry that I only recently learned of RomanSQ on NextDoor, missing out on a year of pizza heaven. The Salsiccia e pepperoni (sausage and roasted sweet peppers) was amazing and delicious with a light but crisp crust and the flavors blending, no ingredient overpowering the rest. The salad is so fresh and is large enough for 4. I'll be back! Often! Can't wait to try everything on the menu - the focaccia, antipasti, and the other pizza offerings. read more
