Roman's Plumbing is the most organized, client centered companies I have come across. From the moment you call "for help" to the completed job, both Roman and the Eleni will keep you, the client, in the loop about their whole process. It is very apparent that Roman's Plumbing's goal is to make sure their clients know and understand their costs, the date and time of your appointment and at the job's completion what exactly Roman did. For twenty years my Dad lived alone. He always called Roman to help with plumbing repairs. We (Dad's out of state family) knew with certainty Roman would take great care of him. And Dad loved "visiting" with Roman. In Dad's later years, when he needed a bit more explanation of the plumbing issues, Roman was kind and patient with him. When it became time to sell Dad's house, we called Roman to fix the plumbing issues called out in the home inspection report. What I appreciated is that Roman took each issue noted by the inspector and gave us as his expert opinion. There was an issue that in his opinion did not need to be addressed. As a realtor, I do know that this is often the case. I am impressed with Roman's transparency and honesty. Roman repaired the plumbing problems quickly and efficiently. Without any reservation, we highly, highly recommend Roman's Plumbing. Roman and Eleni Scanagatta are wonderful people that not only will expertly fix your plumbing problems but will enrich your life by knowing them! read more

I couldn't be happier with Romans Plumbing! Roman was incredibly quick to respond when I had a plumbing problem, and he showed up ready to get the job done. His van was stocked with everything he needed, so he was able to diagnose and fix the problem right then and there--which I really appreciated! Roman was friendly, professional, clean, and extremely efficient. He clearly takes pride in his work, and it was such a great feeling to have someone reliable show up, take care of the problem, and leave everything clean when he was finished. It's not always easy to find someone you can truly count on, but I definitely found that with Roman. I would recommend Romans Plumbing to anyone who wants excellent service from someone who knows what he's doing. I'll absolutely call him again! read more

I cannot begin to say how grateful we are for Romans plumbing. Our water heater went out last week. Roman came out and was able to order a replacement part on our behalf from the manufacturer and get it installed swiftly. Roman was professional, prompt, communicative, and handled our situation with incredible empathy and kindness. Going without hot water for multiple days is not pleasant! I came home from a vacation to no hot water. Not a happy camper. My hot water heater is tankless so that limited my plumber options. I went with Romans Plumbing based on reviews I read and I now want to add mine. He and his assistant came out that day and very patiently dealt with waiting to speak to a human on the phone at the supplier. My heater needed a new panel, which was covered under warranty. They were able to make an adjustment allowing me to have hot water until the panel came in. As soon as it arrived they were back completing the installation. Who knew plumbers now need to be electricians - there were so many wires to connect! Romans was timely, competent, friendly and conscientious - I received excellent service and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Aileen S. read more

I've been working with Roman's Plumbing for over 13 years, and they're the only plumbing company I trust with my home. Every time I call them, I know the work will be top quality and done right the first time. They take their time to make sure everything makes sense, thoroughly test everything before they leave, and always explain what was done clearly and professionally. Communication and scheduling are always fast and easy -- they're quick to respond, show up when they say they will, and keep me updated throughout the process. What I appreciate most is their professionalism and care. They always wear shoe booties, lay down protective blankets, and leave the work area spotless. Their team is consistently polite, well-presented, and respectful of the home. The combination of craftsmanship, integrity, and value they deliver is hard to find these days. Roman's Plumbing has earned my complete trust over the years, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for honest, skilled professionals who truly take pride in their work. read more

If you want work done perfectly, at a reasonable price, by experts who have a great reputation, call Romans!. They were recommended to us by our general contractor. Yet another great save by Roman! We have our HVAC system on a maintenance contract from a well regarded home service company. We've been very happy with their past service on our heating and cooling. However, they also do plumbing and offered us a free plumbing inspection and water heater flush. I had been doing the water heater flushes in the past, but decided to give them a try. The visit also included an inspection under the house of the supply and waste service. They came back with a shocking report of our 62 year old mostly cast iron waste system suffering from major corrosion and starting to leak. Their recommended action was to replace the waste system and they gave us an estimate of almost $17,000 to do the job. We asked Roman to come and give us a second opinion. He did and gave us a detailed report with pictures and said that he couldn't find any leaks and that the cast iron was sound with just the normal surface discoloration that would be expected in a 62 year old system. The only recommended action was to isolate some of the copper lines where they were in contact with the cast iron to prevent galvanic corrosion, this was as a result of a 20 year old bathroom remodel. He wrapped the pipes with thick electrical tape to provide the recommended isolation. He also found a few other minor issues that did not need any action (just poor craftsmanship 20 years ago from the bathroom remodeling contractor). One red flag that the home service plumber raised was the use of a section of Apache ABS pipe in one of the remodeled sections. Pipe from that manufacturer was recalled in the 1990s. However, Roman determined that that section of pipe was not suffering from the issue that caused the recall and no action was needed. Details: The bad Apache ABS reacted to the glue used to connect it. The failures that occurred happened early in the life of that connection. Roman found the Apache pipe and connection quite sound. Conclusion, this pipe was not suffering from the problem that caused the recall. So major expense averted! Thanks again for the great service Roman! read more

We recently had bathroom sink drains that were completely clogged. Romans team was able to fit us into the schedule quickly even though they were extremely busy. Roman and his assistant did an amazing job and resolved the issue for a fair price. He also inspected some other issues that another company had quoted me an astronomical price to fix and was able to give me honest, professional analysis that made sense. A great experience with a local family company. Special thanks to Monica for her excellent customer service and efforts to help us quickly. read more

Romans helped us with replacement of our older water heater. They were easy to schedule, on time, gave us great advice, did a wonderful job, and taught us how to use it. But we forgot we needed an annual flushing! We quickly called Romans and they once again answered our needs -- scheduling a convenient appointment, showing up on time, doing a great job and afterwards we received a lovely handwritten thank you note! Their card says "One visit and you're family" and they truly live this motto. We already have them in our calendar for next year. It is wonderful to know we have a plumber we can call. Roman's is just the BEST! Our water heater went out on Sunday evening, and Roman was able to stop by the next morning (sometimes timing works out!) Old unit was 14 yrs old, so it was time. My Two Heroes: How do you say thank you when a thank you is woefully inadequate ...? How do you express gratitude when doing so expresses barely enough ...? How do you describe a life suddenly so utterly stupendously improved ...? And how in the world do you let the entire world know of kindness so unexpected, so generous, so compassionate, even a full symphonic orchestra with 100 person choir raising voice in rapturous praise wouldn't begin to do the job ...? --- One day you're fit and healthy and the next day you learn you're not - in fact, you learn you're very ill. Only the day before you had lots of plans, like, say, that long wanted bathroom improvement. You'd done research and knew it'd be an expensive undertaking but you had a plumbing contractor who'd done work in your home in the past and you felt confident you'd get a fair price and a first-rate professional job. But, oops, the electrical contractor higher than expected estimate and the building permit costs put the project out of budget. Like I said, an expensive undertaking ... Then your go-to plumbing guy voluntarily re-estimated using a modest product downgrade and voila!, the project was again GO! Then came that daunting pathology report, attendant treatment costs, time away from work, all of which mandated STOP! So you called off the plumbing contractor, the electrical contractor, withdrew the building permits, and figured that was that ... Then one morning your phone rings: "Hi, it's Roman. How're you feeling? My wife and I've discussed it and we're going ahead with your project and there's no charge. We had a second job done by Roman yesterday. It is so refreshing to employ a family business that puts value and sincerity first, rather than marketing, marketing, marketing first. We've had it with the big plumbing companies that continually try to sell us on expensive work that in most cases does not even need to be done and must do so in order to pay for all of the advertising that they do. Roman's Plumbing has the opposite mentality; do the work well, do it fast, and most importantly, do it with honesty. They are a throwback to the old days when pride in work was the paramount reason for work. Rick R. read more

So glad we found Roman's Plumbing! This will be our go to company from now on - we are so grateful Roman is willing to travel to Sausalito! We've used Roman's Plumbing for 2 major jobs- running a new gas line and installing our new tankless water heater. Unfortunately due to COVID, our water heater install was delayed - Roman's team proactively worked with me and the City to get an extension on my permit, saving us time and money. From our initial meeting through the installation, Roman and his team have been very professional, and quickly responded to my many questions along the way. I contacted Roman's Plumbing along with 3 other plumbing contractors that advertised serving Sonoma County for a hot water recirculating system installation in my Oakmont 2 bathroom home. I arranged an assessment appointment with Roman's needing an experienced evaluation and estimate for the best way to proceed. I've been using Roman's since 2011, when my water main sprang a leak. Roman's has always been honest, and I value that highly. They do great work and take the time to explain their charges up front and what they're going to do. The first time they needed to clean out my kitchen pipes, they recommended they install a cleanout. I took that recommendation and have been super happy I did. Whenever they need to come clean out my kitchen pipes, it takes them so much less time (and therefore saves me money). This year, I needed another kitchen cleanout (or thought I did) and was wary because of COVID. Because I'm in the vulnerable population for several reasons, my daughter and I started self-isolating in February, and take every precaution. I needn't have worried--Roman's did everything they could to help prevent exposure. If you have a plumbing problem, consider Roman's first. read more

Writing another 5 star review of Roman's Plumbing feels like an unnecessary exercise given all the fantastic other reviews, but they once again earned it. This time, for a job they ended up not doing, graciously responding to an emergency on our end and scoping the problem in an atmospheric river in an already packed week. As usual, they only capable of top quality work and planning, and I appreciate them so much. Again, it's a drop in the bucket of feedback for this wonderful family and company, but good work deserves good feedback, even if it is repetitive. Thank you Roman, Eleni, everyone. read more

I have been using Roman's Plumbing for 10 or 15 years now. They have always been outstanding to work with. I usually do not do Yelp reviews, but what they did for me last week was so truly remarkable, that I had to write this review. What happened is that last Thursday at about 4:30 p.m. my tenant at my rental house told me they did not have any hot water. I immediately called Roman's. They sent Roman himself down to help me after hours. Turned out my tankless water heater had died. As you can imagine, my tenants were displeased at the prospect of having no hot water for the weekend. Well, Roman's came through!! They had a team here first thing Friday morning, and finished the job by the afternoon. I have never had better service than what I get from Roman's Plumbing, from anyone. They deserve 10 stars for a really well run business, high quality work, and consulting on making the best decisions on equipment. They also are the nicest most professional group from top to bottom. They have a modern system in place to take estimates and manage appointments that keeps you on top of what to expect. This type of investment in business process always makes me feel more confident. We have used Roman's plumbing for a variety of things including new water heater, new bathrooms including all fixtures, water pumps to move heated water more efficiently to the far end of the house, replacing old spigots, adding water access outdoors and recently a new whole house water filtration system. They have been on time, priced well, always smiling and super kind to our irritating but lovable dog. We cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Charged by the hour and tried doing the same thing over and over for 3 hours with no results! Also carried the filthy, dripping snake through my house with nothing protecting my floors and made a mess everywhere. I do not have enough superlatives to describe the level of service that we received from Jason. He was prompt, thoughtful, meticulous and fully dedicated to figuring out what was wrong with our downstairs toilet that was leaking water under the base. He crawled under the house just to double check that what he believed was the problem was actually correct. He made a follow-up phone call because he thought of one other thing after he left the house. What service person does that?!Three years ago, he replaced our broken hot water heater and provided the same level of service so this is not a fluke.
