Being a vegetarian wife to an omni husband sometimes makes eating out a challenge. Roman's Kitchen to the rescue! After reading the Yelp and Facebook reviews, I thought we'd give it a try and they did not disappoint. The veggie burger was great. My husband loved his Redwood sandwich, too. The cheese fries were also very good, but the sandwiches were so filling we didn't even need the fries. The customer service was fabulous, too. In my husband's words, "they were hella nice!" Their hours are incorrect and it is has been a hit or miss as for the food qualityfor the last year. I love that they are close to my house, but I miss the food quality when it l was next to the pot shop. Wish they would be truthful to their hours that are posted online. read more

Ambiance: Not much ambiance given the place is a food truck but they have picnic benches and chairs outside with plenty of paper towels. The staff are super-friendly although food can take a bit of time since it's made to order. Food: Some of the best burgers in town. The patties are a good size, juicy, and tender. They're the kind that leave a small puddle of meaty juices at the bottom of your basket, but don't taste greasy at all. We have had the mushroom-provolone and avocado burger which both had very reasonable amount of toppings. We've also had the philly dip was my least favorite. It was savory and plentiful but the sliced beef wasn't the same as the chopped crispy beef of a true philly. The au jus was nothing special and really not needed. The shining part of the meal, however, was the chili cheese fries which had excellent crispy battered fries and a meaty savory chili. Overall these are some dang good burgers. They have great variety, are well-composed, and their chili fries are pretty glorious. Definitely give this place a try. read more

I had my humans drive me here because I heard this place had some burgers. The 30 minute wait was a bit much but at least I know my burger was made to order. I really enjoyed the bacon. My humans loved the fries and said the veggie covered bacon burger was really tasty too. Overall, this is one of the best food trucks in the area (though I do have trouble categorizing those that are fixed in the same location as a true "food truck"). The Good: -Excellent food. Every item I have tried there has been of high quality and taste. -The prices are fair for what you receive. -With a varied menu, there is something for everyone. The Less Than Good: -The ordering process could be much more refined. Phone orders often interrupt the interaction between staff and the paying customer already standing there. The last time I visited, I was with a group of 4 other coworkers on our lunch break. Nearly each of us was interrupted by a phone order, and by the time all of us had placed an order our 30 minute lunch was basically over! Not only that, but the phone orders that interrupted us got fulfilled sooner than our own, so it took about an hour for everyone to get their meal. This place is a great place to get some delicious food!! The reason for the four stars is because the consistency of quality food has been up and down. I've rated here about five times and two of those times the food was soggy :( and the first time my food was soggy is because they forgot to call my name out and I waited for a long time and decided to go ask and then they realized they had it. It was super busy that night so I understand. But the other times I've been here it has been very tasteful food especially for a quick bite. There is no real seating since it's a truck so make sure to get it to go and you have to ask for utensils. Also definitely check frequently if your waiting on your food. read more

My daughter is a HSU student and Roman's is nearby; anytime we're in Arcata we always eat here. Their hamburgers are the best! My favorite is the Sriracha Bacon Burger and the Mexican Guey (pronounced Way - remember this or they'll make fun of you when you order!). My wife likes the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Grilled Chicken Cali. Their beer battered French fries are killer. I like them coated in fresh garlic. But you gotta try the Loaded Fries (Shredded Cheddar and Jack Cheese, Fresh Garlic, Bacon, and side of Ranch or Homemade Spicy Mayo) - this can be a meal - its a big portion. Roman's has been serviceable before but these past couple experiences have been glorious! The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, the swiss embraced the juicy, quality tested beef patty like a long lost friend! The main reason I was inspired to write the review was the garlic fries! Oh, friends: The GARLIC FRIES. Not only were the fries the perfect thickness, it only complemented the crunchy exterior that guarded some of the most pillowy potato clouds I have ever tasted. Also, this isn't some garlic salt dusted fries that you'd receive at any of your local greasy spoons for the same four dollars, these fries are coated in garlic and actual salt to the most complimentary degree. As a local lard ass i'd highly recommend Romans Kitchen, they treat you as well as the ingredients they provide and it has been truly showing lately. Till we eat again, bye~ read more

Tried this place based on Yelp reviews. Our family collectively gave it 3 1/2 stars...but we rounded up. First let me say we are from Texas so eating outside when it's 58 degrees brought the score down for us....as we were cold & our food got cold quickly. The burgers were pretty good. The patty's are very thin so they dry out pretty quickly. The ingredients seemed very fresh so that's a bonus. We had the garlic fries & onion rings...both good. I would eat here again on a much warmer day. read more
