Terrible salon experience overall. I only ever trusted them with my eyebrows, and honestly, I'm relieved I never tried any of their other services. The behavior of the staff is consistently unprofessional. One lady told me my skin was "very loose" and then made fun of my hair color--completely uncalled for. On another visit, the eyebrow technician was in the middle of a personal argument on the phone and took her frustration out on my brows. She threaded so aggressively that she left small cuts near them. Any time you try to address an issue, they immediately dismiss you and make you feel like your concerns aren't valid. To top it off, several of them start working on clients with hands that clearly smell of food, as if washing up before a service is optional. Overall, an extremely unprofessional environment. Had the worst experience. I walked in to get my eyebrows done. Two women were sitting on the couch and pointed me in the direction to a woman standing on the phone. The lady tried to start doing my eyebrows while she was on the phone. I politely ask her to finish her call before starting my service. I waited a few minutes then asked one of the ladies who were sitting to assist me so this lady can finish her phone call. They tell me to wait and the lady comes behind me to tell me the call was an emergency and she's ready now. As soon as she finishes my service, she walks over to the other employees to talk about me. As I am taking my card out, I tell them to talk about me when I leave. They also have the audacity to ask "no tip right" I ALWAYS leave a tip. This establishment has a very nice looking decor; however I would say that my threading and waxing service was horrible. Before the lady started on my eyebrows, I asked her if she could keep my arches and have the shape stay the same and she said okay. She rushed through the threading, change the shape of my eyebrows, took away my arches, thinned out the end of my right eyebrow, which has them raise higher than the left. Also, for my lip wax service, the wax very hot when applied; which caused my lip area to be irritated for a few hours. read more

I had a Groupon voucher for 3 Brazilian waxes that I pre-paid for - after the first (and only) wax, I asked to redeem the voucher and the ladies in the salon immediately began shooting it down, offering me a $10 discount on the full price of the service instead and telling me to go on the app and cancel the voucher for a refund. Completely unprofessional. If you don't want patrons to use Groupon vouchers they already spent money on, don't use Groupon as a means of attracting customers to your business. I cane here on a recommendation from a friend who gets her eyebrows threaded. I decided to give threading a try. I always admired the beautiful Indian women with perfect eyebrows. Roma is located in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung near the Dollar Store. There is plenty of free parking. I was a walk-in and didn't have an appointment. You can make an appointment over the phone. A woman by the name of Somal greeted me and I was immediately seated in a leather lay back chair. I had my eyebrows, lip, and chin threaded for a total cost of $13.00 plus tip. I couldn't believe it! If I got that done in a regular salon and waxed it would've been around $30 plus tip. The threading itself really wasn't that bad. I think waxing hurts more. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Somal did a beautiful job on my eyebrows and my lip and chin, and I'm so smooth , it feels baby soft. The store was neat and clean . Roma is open everyday from 10a-8p. They offer many services but their threading is what most people come in for. My review is based on that. Great prices, good service and beautiful threading. Not professional at all! Both times I entered the salon, there was no hello, and the girls seemed cold, unfriendly, and uninterested. The first time, the girl who did my brows was really quick, but they came out OK, so despite what seemed like an overall lack of interest paired with a desire to be somewhere else, I decided to give them another chance. Big mistake! She rushed through it, made them uneven, and ruined my arches. Not to mention, there were still stray hairs left. I have been coming here for years to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded (I usually emphasize that I'd like to keep my eyebrows full). It's always been quick and efficient. Always have had a different person but usually good, never had a complaint. Since I felt comfortable with them, i trusted 1 lady to cut my hair and it was very affordable and we'll done. I returned for a trim and the woman was no longer at this location. I was convinced by the manager that she would do a great job, what a mistake. I don't know how this woman has a license. I could have cut my own hair with what she did and I would have done a better job, my hair was never blended in and she was done in less than 5 minutes. I have spent the last 3 month fighting with my hair, and hating and cursing her each time I style it. I will never allow them to touch my hair. I hope this helps someone out there. Once he finished a noticed a complete difference from each eyebrow. One was think without shape the other was thicker with a high arch. This is the third time I went there and they messed. The lady hurried and gave me a several cuts on eye brows and even on upperlip with blood coming out . Please do yourself a favor and skip this Salon. I had a $69 Groupon for a Keratin. The owner refused to take it and tried to sell me a different product on my hair. She kept telling me to cancel my Groupon and pay $160 for the Keratin. I realized she was using Groupon as a way of getting people into her salon to scam them. I ended up leaving without a keratin. Poor management and customer service. I have spoken to 2 of their owners and they can't keep their word. They sell those package deals, but can't track their usage. If I can give this review zero stars I would! I purchased a groupon to this salon to save some money but I wish I never did. I came there to have my roots done and some highlights. Upon entering the empty salon, Indian music was blaring and I wasn't immediately greeted. What should have taken a couple of hours turned into an all day nightmare. My blonde hair turned orange and had parts of it burned off! These people do not know what they are doing. The owner kept putting toner in my hair to try and "fix" it. It turned my hair from blond to orange. I just told her to wash it so I could get the hell out of there! The owner had the nerve to say she was going to charge me extra money because I had long hair! The nerve of this bitch! I told her that not only was I not paying her for ruining my hair, I was going to get in touch with Groupon for a refund, call the Department of Health and Better Business Bureau and file a complaint! Which I most definitely follow through with. Please please please do not go to this unprofessional, dirty salon. Unless you're Indian, then it's perfect for you. I had to go to a reputable salon where they had to fix my hair after it being burned off and color correcting it. It took me a few years to grow my hair out after having chemotherapy. It took a few hours to destroy my hair. I know it will take time to repair and grow my hair out, but I learned a valuable lesson here. 1. You get what you pay for. 2. If I could give this place negative stars I would. In short, they are scammers. I showed up for my appointment and the girl at the counter was loudly eating and didn't even know to expect me. Like others, I had the experience of purchasing a Groupon and then having the manager try to get me to cancel it and pay $250 for Keratin. When I declined that price, that same service she was pushing on me became $160. After going back-and-forth for a while, she finally told me that if I didn't want to cancel the Groupon, I was going to have to pay $60 in "extra fees" for the keratin. I should add this haggling process was all done via phone. The girl that was going to do my hair literally handed me her cell phone to start haggling with the manager of the place. I ended up leaving without any service. It was literally the most unprofessional experience I have ever had in a salon. They were pushy, rude and on top of that the place was dirty and smelled.
